Eric is not by any chance a natural singer. He is a guitar player, one of the best in the world, and a songwriter. But his voice sounds so raw, unpolished and soothing. He was my dads favorite singer ever.
He's greatness, but he can't sing a stitch......nor does he know how to read music. Which is kind of fantastic, really. Guess what? Neither can I, but I'm not in the music industry.

This song came out in my senior year of high school. There was no better slow dance then, or since. The dance floor would always fill up when this song was played.

Eric wrote this for his wife Pattie Boyd, a famous British model. Pattie met George Harrison when she had a small part in The Beatles movie A Hard Days Night. George wrote Something, I Need You, If I Needed Someone, For You Blue about Pattie. Eric fell in love with his good friends wife, and wanted her to leave George. He wrote Layla (Pattie) during this time. She eventually left George for Eric. Wonderful Tonight, and Bell Bottom Blues were both about her. There are a couple more Beatles song with her as the muse❤️❤️❤️
Dani, thank you for reacting to this. I have the CD of this and I've always thought of my wife when I hear of it. Sadly she passed away 12 years ago, but hearing the song, I feel myself back in her presence. I've been a Clapton fan for over 50 years. This song is one of my favorites.
"Wonderful Tonight" is a ballad written by Eric Clapton. It was included on Clapton's 1977 album Slowhand. Clapton wrote the song about Pattie Boyd.

OMG. I can remember this love song. Yet I had forgotten it for a little while. And even though I am not a fan of Eric Clapton u can't help but love this song. Such a beautiful and emotional love song. It brings True romance between a man and his woman.

Miss Atkinson what city do you live in...the reason I am asking is that I used to live in a small town called Albany Wisconsin next to two families that their last names were Atkinson out in the country on called Atkinson road right next to us was Bill and Holly Atkinson that owned a farm got from his mom and dad because they lived on that farm too and down the road a little bit on the other side of us across the road was another family of Atkinson's del Mar and Holly Atkinson in their kids and calamar Atkinson his mom and dad have done that farm too in the old big house I'm pretty sure that they were relatives of some sort to each other but please let me know if you are related to any one of them I would have greatly like to know but I've been watching a couple of your music videos and you are a really talented young lady you got some good vocals I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos in the future have a lovely day 🎉🤗
