This is me and my husbands song we danced to this on the new yrs eve we met our daughter was conceived that night. 45 yrs later we are still loving each other for as long as this life shall last. I am now in hospice care my husband is by my side every night i pray that we get one more trip around the sun. He plays our song every night and sings to me. This will be played at my celebration of life and i am going to be cremated and ashes spread at Graceland in the back of the property and yes this has been approved since I was Elvis friend and he was the brother i never had. love to you both from the one and only Memphis Tn.
Went to a Clapton concert and his guitar made me feel things like he had a joystick to my emotions. My brother said "he has the guitar plugged into his heart". Best discription I ever heard
Best description I've ever heard too!!
Saw him 7 times in concert. And it's always great !!
What else can you say but true?
thank u vor ur descripton - same here ! sorry for my english ... greetings from germany
@@cosa09 you are welcome. Please don't apologize for your english. My father's roots are from Prussia and my mother was born in Norway and I only speak English. I would love to speak another language, even if it was not good
One of the most talented musicians born in the 19th century.
My son was about 5 years old and this song came on the radio, he said mommy please dance with me and I dropped everything I was doing and danced with him. I love this song. Love y’all and keep safe
The woman this song was written for has had no less than 5 love songs written about her by Eric, and her first husband George Harrison of The Beatles.
Patty Boyd : LAYLA , Wonderful tonight ,Something , other 2 please ?
@@barblessable It's actually closer to 10 but these are the songs most people are familiar with. If I Needed Someone & For You Blue (George/Beatles), Bell Bottom Blues, She's Waiting, Old Love (Clapton).
While Ny Guitar Gently Weeps (George Beatles feat Eric)
The greatest of all time guitarist. The only entertainer to be inducted in the rock hall of fame 3 times!
Loving your reactions, I used to DJ and when I played this song it was gold. It would always pack the dance floor and it was such a warming feeling watching couples of all ages swaying in sync with each other expressing their love. What a blessing to experience group love!
This is so sweet! It reminds me of the way my husband treated me while he was living.
You have reacted to "I shot the Sheriff" by Eric. You just watched a living legend, he is one of the top 5 guitarist of all time. He played with SRV the night that he died, he took a later ride out. You should hear his songs "Cocaine", "Layla" (both the original and acoustic versions.) This is a very deep rabbit hole that includes the groups "Cream" and "Derrick and the Dominoes". You should google him, he has had a lot of tragedies in his life. By the way, this song and "Layla" was for his now X-Wife (the x-wife of Beatle George Harrison) he and George remained friends until George passed.
Eric wrote this song, as well as the song ‘Layla’ for Patti Boyd who was the wife of his good friend George Harrison (of the Beatles). She refused to leave George for Eric, but when they ultimately divorced, Patti and Eric fell in love and were married for around 10 years. He and George stayed friends and were close until the time of George’s death.
They called themselves ex husband in laws
He admitted to abusing and raping Patti. Kinda spoils this song a bit, eh?
Eric Clapton is the only person inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three different times and one of the two best guitarists of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine
This and Lady in Red were the best slow dance songs when I was in high school. Still love it. Clapton's song Tears In Heaven is beautiful.
My wife and I danced to this at our wedding, 30 years ago. 4 kids and 3 grandkids later, we still get up and drag it across the floor!👍
Eric Clapton is one of the greatest guitar players in music history. The man is a living legend. He played for the group "Cream" back in the 60's. He has freelanced with various artist and groups throughout his career.
His song "Tears in Heaven." Was a dedication to his late 4-year-old son Conor who fell out of a high rise building in New York City. It was one of the saddest days in New York City. Everyone mourn the death of his son.
You cannot go wrong going down the rabbit hole that is the great guitar legend Eric Clapton.
I'm a 63 year old Macho Man and I cry with this song every time. Just don't tell my homies
One of my Late Wifes favorite songs. I can close my eyes. And remember her in my arms slow dancing to this song. It’s the closest I’ve ever been too heaven
❤️🙏💜
❤️❤️
Eric Clapton is an English rock & blues guitarist, singer & songwriter. He is considered one of the best guitarists in the world & has had a great career in music. He was with many great groups before going solo. The Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos. He has had a lot of solo hits such as "Layla", "I Shot The Sheriff", "Tears In Heaven", "Change The World", "My Father's Eyes", "Wonderful Tonight", "Cocaine", "Lay Down Sally" & many more.
yes to much to mention he is great for sure
This was my wedding song. One of the prettiest pieces of music I've ever heard!
Have you ever heard his song No more tears in Heaven....he wrote it for his young son that fell to his death from a window. Beautiful and emotional.
In 1968, George Harrison of The Beatles wrote the beautiful love song, Something, for his then-wife, Patti Boyd Harrison & it became a huge hit for the group. By 1970, George's best friend, Eric Clapton, had fallen in love with Patti, & as part of Derek & The Dominoes when he wrote the 60s classic, Layla. Originally written as a ballad, with lyrics describing his unrequited love for Boyd, the song became a "rocker" when, according to Clapton, his then-bandmate, Duane Allman composed the song's signature riff. In 1977, George & Patti divorced & she turned to Eric. It was soon after that when he wrote Wonderful Tonight for her. They married in '79, divorced in '89. Surprisingly, George was not bitter at all by what had happened & the 2 men remained close friends for the rest of George's life.
BTW - Eric Clapton is among the GOATs of guitarists. Jumping into this rabbit hole will keep you very busy & highly entertained for weeks on end. He started with The Yardbirds (circa '63), then John Mayall & The Bluebreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, & Derek & The Dominoes, then on his own from 1970 on, & still. Discover all he has to offer. You'll be so glad you did.
Beyond his talent, this is definitely a slow dancing energy.
Eric Clapton is the only person to be inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame 3 times. Once with a group called The Yardbirds, second with a group called Cream and third as a solo artist.
55 still gives me feelings dad loved this song made him cry everytime loved my mom
NICE you definitely want to spread the love when you hear this and Eric's guitar definitely mesmerizing!!
rewinded this 50 times watching, I felt it too, that lady took me to church for a minute...
This song takes me back to prom 1982
Patti Boyd had “Something” written for her by George Harrison, then has “Bell Bottom Blues””, “Layla” “wonderful Tonight” written for her by Eric Clapton…can you imagine? *Swoon*. YOU already reacted to “Tears in Heaven”, but please do LAYLA, original version…live! Most beautiful love song ever written IMHO. ONE of the top 3 greatest guitarists in the world! His heart is plugged into that guitar, he can express every depth of feeling with his guitar, it sings.
This is my bf and my song we danced to this on new years eve 44 yrs. ago and conceived our daughter the same night this song was playing then too. i know some may say TMI but it is exactly what happened. love this song so much. that night will always be special to us. awesome reaction guys.
How often do you see an artist give the stage and a shout out to a back up singing. Eric Clapton and Billy Joel with Crystal. Awesome.
I'd just graduated high school, it was fall, '78...Eric Clapton was on his Slowhand Tour & playing town, with his muse, Patti Boyd, sitting just offstage. This was my favourite song on the album, much more than the overplayed, Cocaine.
'You look wonderful tonight'
Was able to feel that way when I was walking around in high school.
One of the best concerts I have ever gone to. In was in the 70's. We had the best music ever.
Erin, this was always your song, baby girl. I love you and miss you sweet lady.
Eric Clapton, one of the best guitarists of all time
When we go out dancing I love having the last dance to this song.sets the mood.
This song is beautiful. My wife and I have been married fifty two years, love is still strong like this. Thank you for this reaction.
his backup singer is so beautiful with a beautiful voice
My husband and I had this song playing while we were signing the registrar. We chose it as it is describing so well the intense love you can feel for someone in the most mondane of situations - like being tucked into bed after a night out with maybe too much to drink... ❤
The best blues guitarist ever. Clapton has real soul.
Check out Eric Clapton and the Dominos the song " LAYLA " A classic song
Mr Slow Hand Clapton and no he was not married to the background singer. The song was written for Patty Boyd which was a model and Also married to George Harrison first . Clapton met her and began dating her and then married her (long story) . The song was made for Patty Boyd. Thanks for a great video once again. You both are such lovely lovely people.
One of the most played and covered songs in bars and lounges in the seventies.
Also, check out Eric's tribute to his deceased son called "Tears in Heaven". If you do, tell Shawn to have tissues close by cause he gonna cry!!!
Tears in Heaven just kills me! I cry openly to it.
💯👍👍👏Great song and performance.
every time i've ever heard this song i've always just pictured slow dancing lol
I still believe that Eric Clapton will be 100 years old and still able to play the guitar
7:26-I wish this lady’s singing was on the actual studio song
Oh, there is a giant worm hole with Eric Clapton aka Slow Hand... one of the best singer, songwriter, guitar player to ever grace this planet ! Just pick a song, no need to tell ya'll. It's that good !
When the one who holds your heart tells you YOU LOOK WONDERFUL TONIGHT, you take your hands and place them on the sides of his/her face, look into their eyes, and tell him or her how much their love means to you.
I lost my love this last May 24th. He passed away while sitting his chair, watching youtube videos of his favourite old rock songs.
After the coroner took him away, I sat in his chair, the energy he left behind wrapped around me like a warm blanket, and as i cried i kept asking myself if he knew juat how much i loved him.
Say it clearly and say it often, so that if they leave you, without warning, you wont have to ask that question.
Thanks guys. This was one of our favourite songs.
I miss you Rob.😢💔❤️🩹🩷
When he was with Derek & The Dominos, they had a huge hit "Bell-Bottom Blues."
One of the sweetest songs ever.
I've seen Clapton in concert many times . Although , this song is basically about both of them getting ready for a party and she was taking forever getting ready with clothes & makeup . So while he was waiting , he wrote this song .
More Clapton, Old Love, Bell Bottom Blues, there are so many. Old Love, same concert is the one you’re listening to, MSG, 1999. It will blow you away.
Actually the story of the song has an ironic side. It came from a situation where Eric Clapton was ANNOYED that his wife was taking too long to get ready to go out! Gorgeous melody - women seem to love this song. Another one women love the romance of is "Lady in Red" by Chris DeBurgh.
I'm a woman and I can't stand either.
HUGE YES TO BOTH.
@@andreaschmall5560 🤣👍
YES They Ned t check out Chris deBurgh!!!

A beautiful live version of his iconic song, finished off by an amazing contribution from the lovely Katie Kissoon from the backing vocal team. Just beautiful.
Another song he wrote for his then wife Patti Boyd is:"Bell Bottom Blues". That song was inspired by her request that he get her some American Bell bottom jeans when he was touring the U.S. in the 70s. It's another beautiful ballad that is worth checking out.
Real great music we need to go back to more like this . So right the music is felt deeply to the bone.
One of the Best ever
Great backing singers Miss Katie Kissoon and Miss Tessa Nile’s.
He one of the top guitarist in the world!!!! Mel nailed that guitar.. lol
You'll hear this at weddings
she is so beautiful and a beautiful voice
I’m 61 years old and used to dance to this at school dances
Eric Clapton has consistantly been one of the biggest names in music since the 60s.....check him out in bands like CREAM and DEREK AND THE DOMINOS.....and of course his long solo career...
always beautiful to listen to. One of my favorites.
"Tears in Heaven" should be your next Eric Clapton song. He wrote it after his 2 tear old son died. It's a beautiful song!
You will find that a lot of the songs through the years, "Just speak to me alone"!
Another beautiful reaction to music I’ve grown up listening to!!!
Saw him in concert in Nurnburg Germany in 1978 with bob dylan. Great concert
All I can say is thank you. This live version was awesome!!!
Thank you! The Best in Rock!!
Oh my he is the 🐐 GOAT.THX for sharing.
One of the saddest songs ever is Clapton’s “If I Saw You In Heaven.” I cry nearly every time I hear it. It’s so beautiful.
My favorite! Please do his song “Layla” from this SAME concert- phenomenal!💖💙✌️👍 This is reminiscent of the smash hit “Love look what you’ve done to me.” By Boz Scaggs- PLEASE react to it- LIVE version- also with the same backup singer(s) 2 ladies and you will not believe their pitch at the end!!! Please trust me- again LIVE version- Another beautiful one!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Guy is a legend. Only 3 time RnR Hall of Famer, Grammys galore, and let's not forget the entire George/Patti/Eric "thing."
Blessed to have seen him twice, he stole my heart with Layla.
This song was among the top first wedding dance songs for brides. The stuff we learn shopping for DJs!!
Eric's catalog is long, classic, diverse and extraordinary.
HAVE FUN!! ❤👍🏽
I think it is the most romantic song ever to love your spouse that much
He is one of the living legends of Guitar. All the riffs that guitarists use today, well most anyways were due to him!
My two locos hittin Clapton.....well awerite....Arriyba!!
Oh my word, y’all. They found Clapton 😅
Dont need a reason to tell my wife she looks wonderful, she does everyday❤
You guys are good-looking couple and have great reactions. Keep it up. Much love!
I could talk about Eric Clapton all day he is my obsession. The only person to go into the Rock and roll hall of fame 3 times. Considered to be the greatest guitarist by Guitar World. The list of masterful bluesman is growing short which scares me. I saw him in concert and something touched my soul. It scared me until I realized he had touched it.
I imagine you are unaware that he completely lost the use of his hands after taking the “vaccine”and had to cancel loads of shows. He has spoken out about this on alternative media but NOT ONE newspaper or media organisation on Earth covered it. Considering his nickname is “slowhand” this would be irresistible to headline writers would it not?
Do you know the woman he wrote this song about? Patti Boyd? In 1999 he admitted to abusing and raping her. Not that a romantic song after that
Years in heaven is a great song about his son
Love you 2, because you're so happy together..
Awesome loving song I've never heard it with the woman singing at the end but I loved the live version WOW
His best song hands down. ❤
Really should listen to his song Cocaine. Really good. You two are so cute. I love how you really feel these old classics!! Your both amazing!!!
One of the greatest guitarist around.
This song, Layla, and Something (by the Beatles), we’re all written for the same woman.
That is such a superstar performance.
That was amazing!!!!
that right there was a master class in song writing and preforming
Mel seems like a sweetie…the best type of woman.
Shawn also seems like a good hearted nice man. I could picture being friends with that guy.
The most romantic song. What every woman wants to hear and how men want to feel about the woman they love. Maybe a song we all need to listen to daily so we treat our partners with the love they deserve since life sometimes gets in the way and we forget to show our love.
Eric Clapton one of the greats. Love to hear your reaction to Vern Gosden. Chiseled in stone. One awesome song
The vocal solo that background singer did was amazing. I felt this whole performance.
I forgot how good this song is. Thank you :)
Ya gotta lov this love song. Perfect romantic tune for couples… and a little slow dance.. before some slow lovin. I smiled watchin you two lovin it. This is how it should be. Guys..love your lady. We re all blessed to have a lady with us. Cause nights get clod and lonely without them.. bn there too many nights to say. GOD bless our ladies. We re not much without them. From an ole guy who knows it. Keep smilin guys. Life is good!! Dan -/18/22
Eric Clapton wrote "Wonderful Tonight" in 1976 while waiting for his girlfriend (and future wife) Pattie to get ready for a night out. They were going to a Buddy Holly tribute that Paul McCartney put together, and Clapton was in the familiar position of waiting while she tried on clothes.
Pattie was married to George Harrison when Clapton expressed his love for her on the song "Layla." Clapton and Harrison remained good friends, and Harrison even played at their wedding in 1979. Eric and Pattie divorced in 1988.
Pattie inspired a lot of great songs. George Harrison wrote "Something" and "For You Blue" for her, while she inspired Clapton to write this, "Layla," "Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad," and "Forever Man."
On March 28, 1979, the day after they were married, Clapton brought Pattie on stage and sang this to her at his show in Tucson, Arizona.
Clapton released a live version in 1991 recorded in London with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. This is the version that charted in the UK. It is included on his album 24 Nights.
Pattie Boyd recalled to The Guardian December 13, 2008 that Clapton "was sitting round playing his guitar while I was trying on dresses upstairs. I was taking so long and I was panicking about my hair, my clothes, everything, and I came downstairs expecting him to really berate me.......
