Eric Clapton is my favorite solo artist. I almost got to go see him a couple of years ago. I love absolutely every song he's ever done. You need to listen to Tears in Heaven. About the death of his son, about 4 years old, who fell out of the window of his mother's high rise apartment. Eric was on his way to pick him up and had no clue what the ambulance and police were outside for. Heartbreaking 💔. He's one of the absolute best blues singer. Check out him and BB King singing Riding with the King, the whole album is great.

RIP Bob, we love you, miss you and are still listening!!
Guys either direction here I'm on board. 😎
If you do Reggae please try Bob Marley and the Wailers "Exodus" and for Clapton early years, try anything from Cream or Yardbirds before he went solo, may give you a deeper appreciation of Slowhand...seen him live 3 times!! PHENOMENAL!! ❤👍🏽

Eric Clapton is the only 3 time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. First for his band Yardbirds, then his band Cream and finally his solo work. He wrote and recorded some of the most iconic classic hits of all time. His career started in the 60's and is still going. His is considered in the top 3 best guitarist of all time. Go down the rabbit hole and follow some of his music. The Crossroads Guitar Festival was held several years in a row and he invited all the industries best guitarist to come and play for about 3 days. You have stumbled on to something that will change you. Enjoy the journey. I am a big Clapton fan and have seen him in Honolulu, Miami, Atlanta and Nashville. I saw him bring a full stadium to their feet with just his guitar. He is top of the heap.

Clapton had a big hit with this back in the 70’s. Check out his live performance of this song at Hyde Park in London. Enormous crowd. When Eric was still a teenager in the 60’s graffiti began to appear around London “Clapton is God.”

Stevie Ray Vaughan was part of EC’s journeyman tour in the 90’s. Sadly, Stevie and part EC’s band died in a plane crash while on that tour. For such a gifted performer, Clapton has had much tragedy in his life from the death of a young son, bad drug abuse, etc…

Eric Clapton musical career in a nutshell: John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers Featuring Eric Clapton (LP from 1966) is among earliest recordings of a then-21-year-old EC. Cream was the first "supergroup" & EC was lead guitarist for the trio. 1968 live recording of Crossroads features one of Eric's greatest solos, one of rock music's most iconic solos. Lots more great stuff from Cream. Then came Derek & The Dominoes, Eric's next legendary group, where he wrote & created Layla -- one of the greatest rock anthems EVER!!! An incredible solo career after that, more great music & wonderful songs. Wonderful Tonight is one of his very best love songs, while Tears In Heaven is one of the most beautiful, yet most heart-wrenching songs you'll ever be privileged to hear.

I’m a huge Eric Clapton fan, but honestly, these later live versions usually leave me yawning. This is better than most!! Though his singing here is more similar to the Bob Marley version, and his playing is inspired, nothing compares to the power and freshness of Clapton’s recorded version on the 461 Ocean Blvd album in my opinion. If you haven’t heard that, you haven’t really heard him play this song yet. (Again, my opinion). When that song came out (1974?), it really impacted people, and helped Bob Marley’s career by introducing reggae to the American public.
