One of my absolute favorite songs. Your reaction is the way it should be reacted too. Thank you for this. Its 630 in the morning here and for whatever reason it had me in tears. Lol
I'm a country fan, however this has been my favorite song since it came out. It's the perfect love song. Also, Eric is known for his guitar playing. I went to see him in concert & was crushed when he did not sing this song, or any songs. It was 100% music only. Gorgeous music, but I was still sad. LOL
you should listen to TEARS FROM HEAVEN Eric was on his way to see his son when he got there it turned out he fell out of a window 53 stories up. I believe he was 4 yearsold. This song is one way Eric dealt with the grief.
Eric played with Derek and the Dominoes for a short while. Their "Layla" is another love song inspired by the same lady: Pattie Boyd. There are about 6 or more love songs extant inspired by Pattie, played by Eric Clapton or by George Harrison (of the Beatles).
Sometimes simple words are all you need in a love song. Katie Kissoon was fantastic, Her solo videos are sensational. I am glad Eric used her to finish this wonderful song...
Patti Boyd - the inspiration for the two greatest love songs ever. "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton and "Something" by George Harrison/The Beatles. She is also the inspiration for a number of the number two's.
Eric Clapton wrote this song for Pattie Boyd, the ex girlfriend of George Harrison. Eric Clapton wrote Layla for her too. Clapton stole Pattie Boyd away from George Harrison, there was never peace between them.
A truly beautiful love song. One of Eric's best. Another good one is-----Lay Down Sally.
I LOVE "Lay Down Sally"!!!
A beautiful song, and Eric plays it so beautifully and the lady with the accompanying voice at the end is Katie Kissoon. Just beautiful.

Back in the day this was the song you wanted to be dancing to at last call.
Great vocal backing from Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles.
As a big fan of EC's hard rock, I loved it when Slowhand came out and we got to see this softer side. His guitar skills transition well IMO.

Mr Clapton is one the best to ever do it
I think Eric Clapton is still considered one of the top ten guitarist of all times. Lots of great music out there by him.
Another beautiful song sung to a special lady was Angel Eyes.
Das ist das in dieser Version für mich der Schönste Liebes Lied
Beautiful summary
Agreed. Appreciate your review :)
Great slow dancing song.
Written on a NYC subway wall, were the words: “Clapton is God.”

Eric is god
Eric was annoyed at Patti Boyd because she was taking such a long time to get ready and he wrote these lyrics
React to some Dio
