I remember being in 4th grade when the colts won this, I went to an elementary school in Beech Grove a lil city, south of Indianapolis. Absolutely crazy how much love the school showed the colts after this win, we had colts week at school and everything. This wasn’t just a big win for the franchise, but also the state of Indiana.

The 2000s were the peak for football. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning both in the middle of their primes. The Giants stunning them the next year. Pittsburgh gets their 6th super bowl, the Eagles being a dominant team that came so close to winning their first and so much more exciting things. This was truly a great time to watch the game of football

I know this game isn’t on many peoples’ “Best Super Bowl games” lists, but I have a soft spot for this game. It was a neat and new matchup, it was played in fairly intense (for Super Bowl standards) weather conditions, it had two great narratives (Peyton finally beating Brady and wanting vindication, vs Chicago back in the SB after 20 yrs), and had a lot of great, aggressive defense and running plays.
    Great SB.

1:04 Hester's KO return was great, but the fastest guy on the field was the Colts Matt Giordano, #43, who ran Hester down as he crossed the goal line. Giordano was 100% hustle all the time. He prevented a TD on a kick return vs NewEngland in the AFC Championship Game, running down Ellis Hobbs.
