It’s a character nobody cares about.” Definitely not saying Agatha will be as good or impactful, but imagine if people tainted Guardians vol 1 with that same mindset. Those truly were characters nobody cared about or wanted and it turned out one of the best and most beloved franchises in the MCU.
People who said that were simply turned off when the show had an all female cast and is apparently gay. There’s definitely an audience here and I am that audience. I love witchcraft and folklore and loved Wandavision and Agatha
Ppl did try to taint Guardians with negativity “who asked for this” and Iron Man. Both weren’t nearly as negative as Agatha but so far all three has proven to be a good idea. To counter, Eternals, Antman (debatable), and Echo were proven not to be good.
Honestly, the first two episodes surprised me. I had very low expectations going into this project, but the premiere episodes were a lot of fun. I'm interested to see where the show goes & whether or not it can avoid the classic Disney+ MCU falloff in the back half.
Yeah for the one hour of content we have so far I like it. I see people bashing it as if the full season is already out, or as if it has to go full marvel chaos speed.
She said: „te veo“ Which means, i see you. In other context it can also be something like, see you around, but i think she meant the first thing. It would explain (to me, just making up theories) why agatha is so scared of those animals, that stare at her. Implying, that those are controled by rio or something… just my interpretation
I think the animals are supposed to be familiars of the Salem Seven. But I do think "being seen" is a fear of Agatha's, and witches in general probably, given how the other witches are obfuscating their powers to remain below notice. Agatha has a lot of paranoia, she feels exposed, naked (literally and metaphorically), vulnerable, so telling her "I see you" does feel like a needle aimed at hitting those feelings. It could also be a "I see you [for what you really are]" given Agatha's penchant for manipulation to remind her that Rio knows her tricks.
I wasn't sure about this outside of enjoying the character in Wandavision and loving Kathryn Hahn. I thought the two episodes slapped and were a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
I honestly really like that we’re following a character that doesn’t have the baggage of being a well established character or a crowd favorite. It’s nice not having to deal with the people complaining that the character isn’t like the comic or complaining about the choices being made with the show. Not knowing what’s going to happen is so nice
I am SO TIRED of people not wanting feminine and flamboyant gay representation. All they have been wanting recently is masculine and straight passing gay which was nice at first but now it has been rubbing me the wrong way. Not every fem gay is a caricature. Those gay people EXIST. Let them be.
“All people want are masculine gays” when??? When have we ever actually gotten that? You’re acting like there’s an overwhelming amount of bear rep when there is NOT, in any way shape or form. “Feminine flamboyant gays” as you call them, (a term which is already leaning into homophobic stereotypes but that’s another thing entirely) are literally the norm, it’s extremely difficult to find anything that doesn’t fit the stereotype that isn’t coming from queer creators
The show is just camp, its silly and goofy and queer and over the top and everything I personally love. It's very close to what I've always wanted from a super hero show, not specifically for Agatha but i love that they used A) an already established character and B) Catherine Hahn specifically. I know I'm going to enjoy the rest of it, from the queer elements to the horror and musicality and such. I'm so freaking excited for the rest of the show.
I’m so happy seeing so many comments from folks who were ambivalent but are hyped now. 💜 I’ve been obsessed since the trailer, gonna be a fun October!!
What I love about this show is that it knows what it's trying to be. So much of Marvel is so bland because it's made to appeal to as many people as possible. Agatha All Along is a queer witchy show about the dark arts. It's fun. it's a little edgy. It showed a butt. It's so different from what the mcu usually puts out there. Makes me feel like the creators and director can really add their own flavor to this show.
I don’t think it’s queery at all despite the main characters clearly being such and also feel like labeling the show that will only cause unnecessary hate for a show that is too good to deserve such unwarranted hate.
@Byronic19134 Doesn't that suck? Where people have to watch their words to not get a mob angry viewers hating on show because one of the main characters ignores a phone call from his boyfriend? So much so that when people are talking about the show, we have to avoid mentioning it so as not to anger the mob. It's exhausting. Also, the show is queer. Not just in the sense of it, including LGBT characters. But the show is very different and peculiar from the rest of the MCU, and I mean that in the very best way.
@@Byronic19134 I would say a lot witchy media, especially as it pertains to covens, has sapphic undertones anyway. The people who want to be mad will be mad and that’s their business. WandaVision/Westview/Agatha is in its own little niche of the MCU, in a similar way to Loki and the TVA, that if people don’t like them it’s easier to ignore.
@@redhead_bebs No, that's common in credits. When you see things like, 'and featuring' or 'with' it just means they get special consideration (more money usually)
@@Laridian OH! Okay... My bad. 😅 I remembered people saying that the movie poster for "The Glass Onion" spoiled a character's death because of "with" and I believed it. It’s helpful perhaps for showing that the characters no hablan (o por lo menos Agatha no habla). The subtitles I really wanted were for the Latin. I heard “mea carmine” (my song) but couldn’t make anything else out.
I didn’t love Wanda vision myself, I enjoyed it but wasn’t my favorite, but I really liked the first two episodes of this. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Queer comics reader here. Teen seems pretty on-brand for early Billy to me. He's a little more public with his identity (e.g. having "Boyf" saved like that in his phone), but queer teens tend to be like that now if they think it's safe. Comics!Billy has always had fairly supportive (adoptive) parents, so the 2024 version of that character WOULD be more public than the 2005 version. Billy now has never lived in a world without Lawrence v. Texas; Billy in 2005 had seen that decision handed down and was watching society shift around him. 2005 Billy had to be cautious in ways 2024 Billy (if he's from a blue state) might not have had to even think about. I see the minor differences as appropriate updates to make the character feel contemporary. Honestly, though, Teen just seems like a big ol' dork, which also describes every queer teenager I currently know in real life (and I love them so much for it). Just watching him awkwardly hold the rabbit made me smile.
This is a really surprising and refreshing review! And, by that, I mean it is the first positive YT review I’ve seen. Good on you for saying how you feel. It’s interesting to hear a totally different perspective. 👍🏽

True, but I actively laughed and enjoyed myself more at the inprov comedy than I got invested in the next blockbuster installment of the Kang Saga, personally. God, that was a rough patch 💀
@@Truck-kun11Me too I think they both get way too much and Thor 4 real problem was not cutting a lot from the film like it just had way too much going on. Antman 3 I thought was a fun family adventure and the only part of movie I had a problem with was them not showing Kang mowing down the Ants to let the narrative that ants killed him thrive.
It's so weird to me that when people talk about good Marvel stuff from that last few years that no one mentions Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Great animation, fun stories, hilarious villains, awesome music. It's got it all.
So glad you're covering the show! If Teen turns out to be Billy (and frankly, it'd be weird if he isn't), my fancast for Tommy is Milo Manheim. Looks like an older version of Young Tommy, great actor, good in an ensemble. Might be too peppy, but could possibly pull it off. I cant decide if I want these witches to die or not. It would be in keeping with the horror theme for them to drop one by one, but I'd hate for them to waste potentially great characters and actresses. I have more faith in this team to make it work either way than I have in most other Marvel teams though!
I really want Mrs Hart and Lilia to get to the end, Hart because I want her to actually get powers, there has been hints and nods to her being a witch unknowingly, and Lilia because she’s a boss
Short answer: yes, it’s good. Very good. I have a silly film degree. It’s well directed and acted. The cast is great. The writing is clever and lots of dry humor.
i love this show for a lot of reasons but primarily i hope this is a proof for marvel that practical productions and unique stylistic choices are the way forward for them.
If "Teen" ends up just being Billy Kaplan and that's it (as he should and obviously is), the post credits scene for this show HAS to be an aknowledgement and tease for Tommy/Speed. I doubt they'll even get to make a Young Avengers project at this point but if ever there was a chance to introduce Speed, its here. That way, whenever we see Wiccan again, Speed can just be there with him and they can say them meeting happened off-screen.
I kind of agree. I forget the rabbits name but the dog being named Sparky goes along with Speed being super fast. My prediction is the rabbit is named closely to the other ability that was witch like in nature and him holding the rabbit in Episode 2 is a call back/tie in to his powers. However there is a theory we don’t know Wanda’s true kids because it was revealed in the end of WandaVision that they were in another universe. Though I don’t remember Teen meeting the rabbit before in Agatha All Along and he said “Oh it’s you!”
@@marchodges5310 The rabbit's name is Scratchy, and its supposed to be a reference to Nicholas Scratch, Agatha's son in the comics. However regarding the stuff with Wanda's "true" kids calling out for help, I don't think the post credits scene for WandaVision even matters at this point because they disregarded it anyway in MoM, and the kids that become Wiccan and Speed aren't even supposed to be the same ones from the Hex. In the comics, Billy Kaplan and Tommy/Speed are reincarnations of those original children's souls. I don't know how, timing wise in the MCU, it works out that this 15-16 year old Teen can be a reincarnation of the Billy Maximoff that only stopped existing 3 years ago, but who the hell knows.
@@pepperidgefarm1003Yes. In the comics her kids were "made" from 2 lost souls she pulled from the afterlife. Wiccan and Speed are their reincarnated souls.
Can we drop the "will X save Marvel?!" narrative? Marvel is doing just fine. We can't keep making the same narrative over and over. It hit some rocks that weren't really self-inflicted. But was never at a point where there was never going to be an other Marvel movie. There are countless articles saying that Deadpool, X-Men 97, Echo, Guardians 3, Wakanda Forever, Ms. Marvel, and No Way Home ALL saved Marvel. Let's move on.
When your "good" products are shoddy between 5 bad ones -- you can keep the "will _____ save Marvel" because that's not the track record of a winning formula, cry baby.
Well, as much as people like to blame the neckbeard mob for hating on Marvel it's not just their opinion. There is a reason there was only 1 MCU movie in 2024: Disney decided the formula is not working. It might have been overreaction to the poor performance pf movies released/made during the pandemic but Disney lost some big bucks last 3-4 years. That being said: nostalgia is a powerful drug. There was a lot of bad to mediocre movies in Phases 1-3. First Avenger, Thor 2, Age of Ultron Iron Man 3 were either divisive or widely criticised. People just forget those and look at that past as if it was MCU's golden age: everything was perfect and not a bad film in sight.
@sathrielsatanson True, but I think the best approach is to limit shows and movies for the years, allowing more focus on the bigger project. This doesn't mean forgetting the shows, just that the shows should be limited and different, kinda like how they did for wandavision or echo (idk another example).
@@lilpeelypat3773 No, again, it doesn't matter. They were putting one-two movies a year in Phases 1-2 and still most of them were mediocre or bad. Iron Man and Avengers were stand-outs in a sea of safe mediocrity. In my book the ration is more or less constant it's just that the bad movies stand out more because they come in quicker succession. And Echo left me cold so I am not going to debate it's merits as a surprising MCU show. For me it's Wandavision, Legion and first season of Jessica Jones.
Loved the first two episodes was very well acted and entertaining, the neighbor stole the scene Everytime he was on screen 😂 he was hilarious when Agatha was naked and when the witches came
Rio said "te veo", the same thing she said when she as a Fed left Detective Agnes' office. Means "see you later". A nice little parallel to Wanda last words to her being "I'll be seeing you, Agnes."
Has a whole bunch of meanings. It’s in the present tense - not “I will see you” but “I see you right now.” Compare I’ll see you (te veré) or I’ll be seeing you (Te estaré viendo). Obviously it’s an idiom rather than a literal statement the same way (I will) “see you” (later) is in English, but it works on a very literal level. “I recognize who you are” (even though you’re stuck in a curse) “I see what you’re doing” (Ags is kind of a villain) “I know you’re hiding and I found you” (Gaydar target lock!)
First 2 episodes were good. First episode showed her life after being made Agnes was very good. Both episodes had exciting endings too. I look forward to what's next!
The camera pan to the phone felt forced. I would’ve liked if the detail it “revealed” was just left up to observation skills rather than us having to be told or we at least waited until it naturally came up.
The only real issue i had in the first two episodes was some of the dialogue and writing for/around Aggy pre-breakout. But considering that she's in a malfunctioning hex cast by a dead (?) witch, that could be more feature than bug.
In my mind, Mrs Hart/Davis is Kitty Forman, and I like the idea of Kitty randomly traveling to Westview, getting caught in Wanda’s curse, and is kinda now forced to keep her life in Westview, and now’s she’s being forced to join the cult
I must admit that the fact that the very first theories coming out about the Agatha show, two episodes in, completely straight, are Mephisto - its freaking hilarious
Joe lockes character in Episode 3 really won me over. I kinda wasn’t on board with his character but as he and Agatha’s relationship unfolds the character gets better
I loved the sexual tension between Catherine Hahn and Aubrey Plaza, as a lesbian I think it's not queerbaiting bc..... Well the hand licking was SO sexual, I do that to flirt (but like without the blood)
12:45 Yeah, I think you have to have a pretty serious misunderstanding of the word flamboyant to apply it to him, so far at least. edit: also, I thought it was clear that Mrs Hart is just there because Agatha knows it's supposed to be Aubrey Plaza's character ("the last name is a black heart"...she said earlier "I have a heart, and it's black"). So because that obviously wouldn't go well she just chose either the first person she came across or specifically chose Mrs Hart because of her obliviousness.
I hope it’s a double twist where it is actually meant to be Mrs hart and Agatha actually made the correct choice by making what she thought was the wrong one
For anyone wondering Aubrey says: “te veo” which means “I see you” which depending on the context could be romantic but could also be interpreted as “see ya” she said it twice within the two episodes so I would guess it’s an inside joke between the two.
I liked the trailers but the first 2 episodes were a really great start. I usually have problems with Marvel show pacing and writing but these first two episodes seem to have good pacing and writing. The first episode established Agatha still in Wanda’s spell we get to live it that while Agatha gets caught up with events of MOM and Wanda’s death. We meet both Rio and “teen” while in the spell then just moments later Agatha breaks free and we see teen and Rio as they are. Episode two we see how the real Agatha operates and we see how cunning and helpful teen is. We meet a great supporting cast of witches and get good humor while meeting them. Ending with the descent down the Witches’ Road. I’d guess that the next four or five episodes will be trials for each character with the last two focused on teen and Agatha’s motivations for the show, probably a witchy fight and some twists.
Billy’s comment about his aesthetic was a bit on the nose, but aside from that haters are just homophobes. Can’t wait to see him meet Kamala in a post credits
Idiomatically, yes, but literally it’s “you(informal)” “I see.” Idiomatically it is about seeing someone later, but the literal meaning is applicable as well especially in the first time when Ags doesn’t “see” herself and Rio knows who she is.
I wasn’t surprised that I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The key is always the follow through and endings. I’m tuned in but trying to level my expectations.
This show has me hooked. I loved Wandavision I thought it was refreshing and new and I was scared about this one because I had this fear they were only doing it because the fans asked for it but its clear they actually seem to have put a lot of effort and thought into this and I am incredibly excited 10/10 so far
I found the chemistry between characters really great so far and this is why I have high hopes for the other episodes. Also I love witches. I really hope the show is a success and marvel will further build on this part of the mcu.

Ppl did try to taint Guardians with negativity “who asked for this” and Iron Man. Both weren’t nearly as negative as Agatha but so far all three has proven to be a good idea. To counter, Eternals, Antman (debatable), and Echo were proven not to be good.

All I know is that scene between Aubrey Plaza and Kathryn Hahn is the most pornographic thing in the MCU. Moreso than the actual sex scenes

I hope they don't start dying right away. I want more time with everyone.
Well, here we are, most of the deaths worked tho
Honestly, the first two episodes surprised me. I had very low expectations going into this project, but the premiere episodes were a lot of fun. I'm interested to see where the show goes & whether or not it can avoid the classic Disney+ MCU falloff in the back half.
i didn't have a expectation, i knew i was going to watch it.... i will wait for the final episode . so far so good
Yeah for the one hour of content we have so far I like it. I see people bashing it as if the full season is already out, or as if it has to go full marvel chaos speed.
I assume all of Patti Lupone's involuntary outbursts are her predicting things that will happen on the Road
That’s exactly what I was thinking 😂
You were onto something bro
She said: „te veo“
Which means, i see you. In other context it can also be something like, see you around, but i think she meant the first thing. It would explain (to me, just making up theories) why agatha is so scared of those animals, that stare at her. Implying, that those are controled by rio or something… just my interpretation
The animals are the Salem seven. And she did mean I’ll see you.
@@trace9021I think she simply meant I’ll see you later and yes all the animals are the Salem7.
@@trace9021 Damn, that‘s a fucking good reply. Awesome thx
i think it's firstly meaning "see ya" but there could be a double meaning of "i've got my eye on you", which comes across in both languages
She’s so different from her comics version that there isn’t much to expect.
@@Justanotherconsumer i'm sure she is. I don't think I've ever met a diehard agatha fan. She's no sabrina. So no one to complain
It’s like media over corrected for their stereotypical portrayal of gay men. Like all we want is balance some semblance of realistic representation
...Comic books are made for Straight males. Straight males don't like Effeminate males as main characters.
I really liked this show! Really great start!
I’m so happy seeing so many comments from folks who were ambivalent but are hyped now. 💜 I’ve been obsessed since the trailer, gonna be a fun October!!
Hahn is a gem, fun to watch when she's allowed to let loose.
Support cast looks great although not quite enough Plaza so far.
@@jthememekingagreed.
@@Byronic19134 I would say a lot witchy media, especially as it pertains to covens, has sapphic undertones anyway.

I feel like when Marvel captions things "[in Spanish]" They should AT LEAST PUT THE SPANISH WORDS SO PEOPLE CAN LOOK IT UP IF THEY NEED TO
@@redhead_bebs No, that's common in credits. When you see things like, 'and featuring' or 'with' it just means they get special consideration (more money usually)
@@Laridian OH! Okay... My bad. 😅 I remembered people saying that the movie poster for "The Glass Onion" spoiled a character's death because of "with" and I believed it. I just went back and looked at that poster, and that was just blatant misinformation because there is a second actor that also has the "with".
Thank you for clarifying!
It’s helpful perhaps for showing that the characters no hablan (o por lo menos Agatha no habla).
The subtitles I really wanted were for the Latin. I heard “mea carmine” (my song) but couldn’t make anything else out.
Not Marvel but I'm sure I've seen "speaks foreign language" in subtitles before and it just seems lazy
Technically Joe lock is still playing an unknown character so he gots more room to breath in as his own character
I honestly didn’t look forward to this show beforehand, but was surprised to see how much I liked the first 2 episodes….can’t wait for the rest! Also, I love the entire cast so far! The chemistry is great amongst all of them!
i know its so simple but the idea that the different witches all have different colored powers is so nice, i feel like we dont get enough of that type of stuff
Its hammy, its campy, its witches for Halloween. Im allowed to enjoy it damnit
imo, the people that are saying that Billy is "too flamboyant" have never actually talked to or been around gay people
and specifically a gay teen that feels like they're always high on excitement, like just talk to a gay teen about their hobbies for a minute and they act just like him

Good review. I am LOVING it.
People always refer to Ant-Man 3. But, man Thor Love & Thunder is roughhhhhhh
I enjoy watching Quantunamia. I do not watch Love and Thunder.
@@TheEvilCheesecake Exactly 😂 I do know more people that enjoyed Ant-Man 3 over Love & Thunder
I kinda like both movies, but i am not stupid to say they dont have a lot of problems
That show is my comfort food. If I'm feeling down, I just pop on an episode. 😊
I agree.
Broader audiences don’t give two shits about Marvel outside of the MCU and anything Spiderman-related.
Ugh I love that you mentioned Moon girl!! Incredible show. I'm desperate for a season 3
The plot would be if they all make it to the end.
Just checked who Milo Manheim is... This is the best casting I've seen yet for Speed! I can't picture anyone else now except him and Ross Lynch.
Kit Connor obviously. Call it reverse family tradition. Not a year before Age of Ultron, Pietro and Wanda were husband and wife in Godzilla.
i loved it; didnt even know it was coming out, just a very pleasant surprise.
first two eps are great - very excited to see the rest of the season.
i was soooooo relieved once i realized it was off to a good start.
Yeah this show absolutely rocks so far. Can’t wait for next week
Love love love Agatha all along
Short answer: yes, it’s good. Very good. I have a silly film degree. It’s well directed and acted. The cast is great. The writing is clever and lots of dry humor.
Its so camp. I loved it. Im so ready for more.
I love the show. I'm definitely part of the target audience, but I agree that there are some who just won't vibe with it. No harm, no foul.
i love this show for a lot of reasons but primarily i hope this is a proof for marvel that practical productions and unique stylistic choices are the way forward for them.
I love this. Campy witchy well-written fun.
@@pepperidgefarm1003 The idea is that his soul happened to go back in time and was reincarnated in the past.

WandaVision and Loki for sure. Writing, Set Design and Production are top tier.

That only happens due to negative opinions on previous projects impacting and preventing future audiences from trusting series and movies.
I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed it, I had completely written this show off in my mind but now i'm all in!
To me Teen doesn't feel flamboyant. Definitely hits me as gay but more like gay nerd. Almost if like Peter Parker was gay.
I think Mephisto as Kitty would be hilarious and perfect for the MCU
“I recognize who you are” (even though you’re stuck in a curse)
“I see what you’re doing” (Ags is kind of a villain)
“I know you’re hiding and I found you” (Gaydar target lock!)
First 2 episodes were good. First episode showed her life after being made Agnes was very good. Both episodes had exciting endings too. I look forward to what's next!
I agree. Loki and Agatha All Along look amazing. We need less CGI and blue screen
19:16 wow this made me realize she was supposed to be the fourth witch
Love you, Nando 💜
The camera pan to the phone felt forced. I would’ve liked if the detail it “revealed” was just left up to observation skills rather than us having to be told or we at least waited until it naturally came up.
The only real issue i had in the first two episodes was some of the dialogue and writing for/around Aggy pre-breakout. But considering that she's in a malfunctioning hex cast by a dead (?) witch, that could be more feature than bug.
yeah that was intentional
In my mind, Mrs Hart/Davis is Kitty Forman, and I like the idea of Kitty randomly traveling to Westview, getting caught in Wanda’s curse, and is kinda now forced to keep her life in Westview, and now’s she’s being forced to join the cult
You should change the title to "Is 'Agatha All Along' Cool Asf?" because it's cool asf. What weirdo hates witches???
(Insert inquisition meme here.)
I must admit that the fact that the very first theories coming out about the Agatha show, two episodes in, completely straight, are Mephisto - its freaking hilarious
Nando, she is Mrs Davis. "Mrs Hart" was what w a n d a called her
Also what the show within a show’s credits called her, FWIW.
Agatha has has multiple female partners

I only saw the first episode and I really liked it. This does not mean that the series will be any good, but for now, I am hooked
great review. Finally a sophisticated look at a well written, well acted, and well produced show.
I’m watching this immediately after your The Penguin and Thunderbolts* videos and now the thumbnails in my watch history say “SO DAMN. FUN?”
For anyone wondering Aubrey says: “te veo” which means “I see you” which depending on the context could be romantic but could also be interpreted as “see ya” she said it twice within the two episodes so I would guess it’s an inside joke between the two.
Also since Ag doesn’t “see” herself in the first one (she’s blinded by the hex) it has a literal meaning as well.
You didnt point out that Videl is just annogram of Devil.
As a gay guy myself you’re right about Wiccan and anyone who has an issue with how he’s being portrayed is just suffering from stan brain poisoning
“Help me get my purple back.” - Diegetic power signatures, yo!
What a weak ass defense. And you wonder why y'all have turned so many people against you and _made_ "homophobes".
Rio said, “I’ll see ya later”
Doesn’t it mean ‘I see you’ cause where’s the ‘later’
@@TheOnlyRick3 it’s implied
Idiomatically, yes, but literally it’s “you(informal)” “I see.”
Idiomatically it is about seeing someone later, but the literal meaning is applicable as well especially in the first time when Ags doesn’t “see” herself and Rio knows who she is.
I wasn’t surprised that I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The key is always the follow through and endings. I’m tuned in but trying to level my expectations.
Nando: "I'm a straight guy"
Me: "aww."
I love that they bring 3 more marvel witches into it as well. Agatha mentors Wanda in the comics so I think it’s a reverse and she’s helping Billy
"They started strong and then... maybe didn't finish as strong" is a perfect summation of WandaVision too.
Comparing Agatha to Charmed is a LOW BLOW Nando.
Agatha’s outfit in Ep2 makes her look like she could’ve been Missy in an American version of Doctor Who 😅
I forgot halfway through that it was an MCU roject, it feels so experimental and wierd and I love it.
I like and enjoyed Agatha All Along. So good!
Yes. Next question please!
The first two episodes made me want more, so it accomplished it task.
She said “I see you.”
