The kids love this one
"Out of Order?" "FUCK!" "Even in the *Future* Nothing Works!" 33 years later that fucking line aged like a fine wine.
Well....yeah, it will always be like that? 🤔
The reason the guy at the bar says "Oh, no, not again," is because he's John Hurt, who played the first chest-burster victim in Aliens.
stellar actor
John was only going to cameo. mel didn't tell him he was going to do the chest bursting until the last minute.
Actually, it was Alien, not Aliens. 😁
John Candy who played Barf,
Had to wear 30lbs of batteries on his back, to power all the animatronics in his costume.
He wore it all day, every day and never actually complained about it.
He was such a great person, as well as a fantastic actor
I love that Dark Helmet yells out at the guys combing the desert and then speaks into megaphone at Colonel Sanders who is standing right next to him.
never noticed that! 😆
Yep! I thought that was hilarious!
“You’ve captured their STUNT DOUBLES!” Is the single greatest gag in cinematic history.
One of my favorite parts:
Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
Lone Star: What does that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing!
During COVID, I bought myself a "Spaceballs - The Facemask" that brought a lot of laughs from those who knew this movie.
Favorite line: Lone Star, "Great, a Druish Princess." Barf, "Funny, she doesn't look Druish."
Fun fact; the guy that spewed out "We aint found shit!" in the desert scene, is the same guy that played Tuvok in Star Trek, Tim Russ.
The "We ain't found shit!" line is even better when you realize it's Tim Russ who played Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager.
Spaceballs the Lunch Box and Spaceballs the Coloring Book are Transformers products. Looks closely and you'll see Optimus Prime.
Although you didn't showcase it in the video, the scene with Dark Helmet playing with his 'dolls' was completely improvised.
Get out of here, I never noticed that, hahah. Thanks!!!
Fun fact: Lone Star was supposed to be dressed like Han Solo but George Lucas didn't allow it so he was dressed like Indiana Jones instead.
God willing we'll all meet again in Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money
The Best Star Wars parody ever!
The Last Jedi is the worst Star Wars parody ever.
@@stevemccullagh36 All Disney Star Wars are. It's not even funny.
Fun fact: Elon Musk is such a fan of this movie that he made his own branded flame thrower and Tesla cars have a ludicrous mode.
Elon Musk is a douche canoe 👍 Still, thanks for the fun fact
@@angelamitchinson8439 why?
@@angelamitchinson8439 you're just mad he's successful unlike you🤦♂️ obviously he got something right. His life hasn't resulted in crying in youtube comments for a living
@@sauce1302 😂👏
@@angelamitchinson8439 so basically you have no response? Typical
One detail I always liked (around 12:10 or so) is in the "Comb the Desert" scene, the detail of Dark Helmet having a megaphone and using it to talk to Col Sandurz right next to him, but when he addresses the guys doing the desert combing he just cups his hand and yells.
Honestly, the internet doesn't care that you didn't pick up on the references dear. I'm just happy that you get to see all these great movies for the first time.
The "We ain't found shit" guy is Tim Russ - Lt. Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager
The fact that she didn't get Planet of the Apes is sad.
Not only did Lucas like the script and 'signed off on this' he had ILM (the SFX house that he owned) help with making the movie.
Which is why it looks better than 99% of the CGI-fests made today.
Still waiting for "spaceballs 2, the search for more money", or as someone else suggested "spaceballs 3, the search for spaceballs 2".
Actually that's not suggested.. That was the rumored title in the early 90s.. I remember seeing it way way back in Starlog magazine that claimed the movie was "in development"..
Space Balls 4, Voyage to the Bank
18:52
He says "Not again", because that is the same actor who played the dude in 'Alien' where the Alien ripped out of his chest ^^
John Hurt
@@Scrapwood_Castle I think something like that would hurt John
George Lucas also requested that the main character couldn't look like Han Solo. So he's dressed like Indiana Jones instead.
Comb the desert!!!!!!!!!
That scene is so fucking epic 😂
We aint found shit :)
Tim Russ (Tuvok) made a brief appearance in the comedy movie Spaceballs as the trooper who shouts "We ain't found shit!" while "combing" the desert with an afro comb. Russ has been extensively involved in the Star Trek franchise,
Beat me to it. I love that he became a serious character on Star Trek: Voyager and ST in general.
Mel Brooks is like the Weird Al of movies. So flipping awesome.
Actually the Zucker brothers are. In fact Weird Al appears in all 3 Naked Gun movies.
SPACEBALLS: THE COMMENT
During Covid my buddy came to work wearing a Spaceballs the mask damned funniest thing I ever seen
Em's enjoyment was obvious...and her laughter, delightful!
When the guys are combing the desert, notice the black guys are using an Afro-pick.
19:00 Yes, the same actor also had an alien burst out of his chest in the movie "Alien".
She don´t recognize cause still don´t watch that movie.
18:52 This is a rather meta reference to the film Alien. In the film, a character played by John Hurt is the one who ends up 'birthing' the xenomorph alien in the horror film...and Spaceballs was able to bring him back for this film to do the same exact thing for this joke.
That’s why he says “not again”
"Oh no. Not again..." comes from actor John Hurt, who played Kane in Alien. The character who gets infected by the facehugger and has the chestburster pop out of his gut. The group he's with is a parody of the crew of the Nostromo.
I LOVE the line "give this guy some Pepto Bismol"!
"Can we start doing that?"
"Yes, yes we can."
...couple goals!
Fun Fact: The "We ain't found shit" guy is actually Tim Ross, who later went on to become Tuvok of Star Trek Voyager.
Also a joke that most people miss on 'comb the desert'. Dark Helmet uses the megaphone on Sanders, but then just shouts to the troops far away.
@@WNT2BLV Thats Tim Russ, aka Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager.
Her laugh is the best.
Honestly, even with how amazing Emily's reactions to these movies are, watching Matthew's face as funny moments are coming up is nearly as good
One of the highlights of my Wednesday, seeing this go up. Genuinely love you two! To the point that I'm annoyed the channel's so new, coz I want waaaaay more videos.
I went to see it in theaters when I was 12. Been one of my favorite movies ever since.
“We ain’t found shit!” Hahahahaha😂
Such an emotional response from a Vulcan.
@@stuartwald2395 Totally! So glad that was noticed!!! :)
I have to admit I have revisited this video quite a few times lately because Emily's laughter is just so beautiful to see and hear. Bless you guys!
Very much same. This one and a few others are excellent comfort viewing.
❤❤❤OMG!!! I love that she liked that movie. That movie still holds up today!!!!! Thank your for sharing your reaction!
Fun fact, if you go back to the ending scene rep there at the diner. If you look at the parking lot that’s outside the diner, you can see the millennium falcon there, so there is some Star Wars fans who like to believe that Spaceballs and Star Wars are in the same universe
IF you meet someone who doesn't love this movie, get far away from them, they are not human. haha I have watched you react to all the movies you have done so far and I saw you had done a reaction to Young Frankenstein and heard you mention about hitting 3K subscribers and you did this one first but since I was there, watched that one and now here for this one and I have decided you both are great but your laughing is off the chain and I need more of this duo so I subscribed. Happy to be part of this channel!!!!
18:57 - Actor John Hurt reprised his role from Alien (1979) for this joke. This is how he dies in Alien which is why he says "Oh no, not again".
You know the trooper in the desert that said "We ain't found s**t," is Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/UQ7TnQBSV00/видео.html
Have a wonderful day!
@@kenosarawa thank you, this was exactly what I thought of. lol
Fun fact: The guy who said "We ain't found s**t" is Tim Russ aka Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager
Fun fact: The guy who suffers the Alien spoof in the diner is John Hurt, the guy who died from a chestburster in the original Alien. Hence the "Not again."
He mentions it
lol. the best movie ever. can't make movies like this anymore.
"MAN. WE AINT FOUND SHIT!!"
Yeah it's said we can't have movie's like these any more because snowflakes get insulted too easily
@@battlewolf578 so true.
That was Tim Russ, AKA Tuvok.
One of the first washable masks I bought when the pandemic started was "SPACEBALLS: THE FACE MASK"
Don't know if you two have watched Star Trek: Voyager, but the "We ain't found shit!" Guy is Tim Russ, who played the Vulcan, Tuvok.
Checked to see if anyone else mentioned it.
the joke in the diner scene where the guy says "Not again" is a reference tothe fact the same actor was in the movie Alien, where the EXACT. SAME. THING. happened to him.
Dammit, Rick Moranis was a comedy genius. It's a shame he retired when he did, although understandable.
Fun Fact. The "We aint found shit" Guy actually had a well known part in Star Trek. That is Lieutenant Commander Tuvok of the Starship Voyager
Tim Russ. Also, the "Oh no, not again" guy was John Hurt, who was in Alien
@@weldonwin Yep why the Not Again line
I actually saw someone at the grocery store last week and that had a "Spaceballs: the Mask" on LOL
i must have one
Mel Brooks would be proud the merchanising has lasted this long 🙂
"I'm my own best friend" always made Mom "AWWWWW!"
I love how every time Dark Helmet does something stupid it cuts to Darth Vader back there just looking all kinds of nonplussed
That's a line i will never forget from this film "comb the desert"
Spaceballs: the reaction video
The best part of the combing the desert scene is rick uses the mega phone to talk to sanders who is right beside him but then screams to talk to the soldiers
I wish I could be a kid again watching Spaceballs for the very first time, we used to rewind the video tape ten times in a row on the part with the guy saying "we ain't found shit!"
You left out the best line in the movie....right before the jump to ludicrous speed.
"What's the matter Colonel Sanders?! Chicken?!"
false. best line. "we're not just doing this for money.... we're doing it for a SHITLOAD of money!"
@@mayorjimmy Lots of best lines
I loved this one too! It’s a LOT of commitment giving a character a name purely to set up one joke that isn’t even a running gag.
"Water my ass! Get this guy some Pepto-Bismol!" Will always crack me up.
“Blazing Saddles” and “Young Frankenstein” are musts.
Mel Brook's Men in Tights makes fun of Kevin Costners Robin Hood very funny
I give ya credit for holding it together at the sight of Pizza the Hut
God, I love Rick Moranis
This is still the best Star Wars parodies. It's better than Family guys. Glad you reference Gundam!
Fun fact if it hasn't been mentioned already. Joan Rivers, the voice of Dot, improvised EVERY line of hers. She dd not have a script.
if you've seen Star Trek: Voyager, the man that said "We ain't found shit." is Tim Russ, who played Tuvok on Voyager.
Holy shit I didn't know that. That's amazing, haha.
I wonder if he gets asked to say that at conventions
one of the best parody movies ever
For reference, the actor that said not again, was the first character to die in the original Alien movie...to a chestburster. He had a joke referencing his own characters death
This is actually a spoof of ALL the big sci-fi franchises up to the point this movie was made; not just Star Wars, but also Star Trek, Alien, Planet of the Apes...basically any sci-fi movie that had one or more sequels. The super long outside shot of Spaceball 1 at the start of the movie is a nod to the over-long exterior shots of the starship Enterprise in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". The diner scene is an obvious nod to "Alien" though the alien song and dance number is as others have said, based on Michigan J. Frog cartoons. "Planet of the Apes" is clearly referenced towards the end with the apes on the horses. And Star Trek gets more nods with "Snotty" and the "beaming" effect, and the title "Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money" being a reference to Star Trek III: The Search for Spock"
What Weird Al is for music, Mel Brooks is for movies.
UHF! Yes, totally watch that classic.
The actor who says “not again” is John hurt, who was in the movie Alien. Not sure if you seen it.
"I love you for referencing Gundam" The fact you said that made me like you so much more and I already liked you quite a bit.
"I get it. It's long."
That's what SHE said! :)
A little bit of trivia. In the novelization of the book (Yes it does exist), the Opening Crawl is on the first page and the font shrinks every line, so the "if you can read this you don't need glasses" is at about 1.5pt font.
I love her laugh, can tell she loved that classic movie!
All people should laugh like her.
The sheer amount of creativity and wit is astounding in this movie.
That gundam reference just made my evening. "It's a gundam!" indeed
I realize you can't show yourself reviewing every scene, but one of the most memorable lines from this movie got left out of your reaction. "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate".
Her laugh is gold 🏆
I remember being like 5 years old going to Pizza Hut for the first time and being terrified pizza the hutt was in the restaurant lol
The scene with Dark Helmet playing with the dolls was not in the script. Mel Brooks came up with the idea on set and told Rick Moranis, who then improvised the entire scene...
"Did i miss something..? When did we get to Disneyland?" ... hearing this after Star Wars Episode 7, 8 and 9. Is that irony of destiny?
The Jawas singing "Colonel Bogey" like Oompa Loompas is just so random and yet so hilarious.
I've always loved the fact that "Skroob" is just Brooks spelled backwards, lol
I've seen this countless times and I've NEVER caught that. Damn.
@@gamingeagle19 @RraMakutsi Same....
Boorks?
@@Jestahz Ok, so Mel used an amalgamation of his name, instead of a clean reversal.
@@beesly01 That's what I meant to say!... I feel like a goober now, but it's still a version of backwards Brooks. Besides, Skroob just sounds like a hilarious name for anybody, let alone a President!
Supposedlly Brooks had a deal with George Lucas that their will be no merchandising. That’s why you actually can’t find any.
He always teases Spaceballs: The Search for More Money every decade or so.
Blade Runner ( 1982 ) the Directors cut version, you MUST sea this one before the "new Blade Runner 2049". And find the "Apocalypse Now Directors cut" because the version that reach the movie theatres at 1979 had high censorship.
"We ain't found shit" still gets me every time!
It's Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager (Tim Russ)
When the tiny alien does the "Hello, Ma Baby" song & dance, that's straight from the Warner Bros cartoon "One Froggy Evening", known for the first appearance of Michigan J. Frog.
The guy that had the alien come out of him was the same guy in the original alien movie. That why he said not again.
The alien song was one froggy evening
Space balls is a masterpiece
Mel brooks is the GOAT
Rip to a great comdiean & actor John Candy we still miss you
I miss John Candy too. Nobody could play Barf like he could.
@@patrickmichaellangan576 yes I agree 👍💯
I can't believe "The Blues Brothers" isn't on the list!
That's what I've been saying lol. Glad to see its finally on the list
@@JustSUMMReactions Wow, that was fast work! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. =)
Robin Hood men in tights needs to be on the list
If Weird Al made a movie... Actually he did make a movie. UHF. It's amazing.
Btw, the "we ain't found shit" guy is tim russ aka tuvok from star trek voyager. And the chest burster guy was the actual actor from alien. Hence the "oh no, not again."
👍☺️
"Pizza is going to send out for you"
"You're delicious"!
The black guys with the pick kills me every time 😦
Its Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager
I'm surprised they didn't find the hair dryer, and then, "Look, sir! Druids!"
