I just learned a trick to restore brushes with bent bristles! I have a bunch of crazy expensive brushes that have been stored for years since I don’t do nails professionally anymore. Several were not capped and the bristles were bent sideways or curved. Give them a dip in boiling water and reshape to point, let dry thoroughly then condition in monomer. It’s that easy! Some of mine were $100 brushes and now I can use them again. So happy and thanks Suzie for all you do!

Informative video! There are also inexpensive cups/containers with incorporated brush holders of various sizes made specifically for keeping your brushes upright while soaking and cleaning them.

Don't spend a lot of money on a great brush until you learn how to keep your cheap brushes clean. Trust me. I had at least $100 worth of brushes that I ruined when I was a student! Of course, I didn't have Suzie to teach me how to keep my brushes nicely. You're a lucky student!
Also, if you are trying to decide between acrylic powder and hybrid gel, hybrid gel is easier to get right the first time. I just used it for the first time last week, and it's a lot easier than acrylic powder and monomer because you have as much time as you need to get it right, and you never have to chase a runny bead all over the nail. Of course, there is something to be said for finally getting just the right "wet sand" texture to your acrylic powder and monomer blend, too. It's just so very satisfying.

I found your site by accident! I was looking through relaxation videos in order to not beat up the new roomy. Did you know that people are using your shows for relaxation? Your vids are one of my favs. Anyway, I don't do any gidley stuff yet I find myself learning this stuff! Its definitely an art and fun. I've watched the tutorials a lot and so far, although I have confusing brain damaged, I am getting this and having fun. I needed a hobby and I can't stand for people to touch me. Well I imagine that before long I'll be able to do this to myself. Thanks for your help.

Great video Suzie and cameraman. One thing I would do differently is to pour a separate amount of acetone to use to dip the contaminated brush instead of poking it into the whole acetone container if you’re going to use the acetone on other customers. Unless you’re meant to use that container only to clean the brush, which is what Susie may be doing and idk. But I just wanted to point that out for others who are beginners.

This was really helpful, I literally asked this question into a nail tech fb group a few weeks ago as I’m leaning nails but using a cheap brush, I ruined my brush the first day 😩 as I got acrylic hardened and I pulled it out so people were telling me the acetone likely ruined it with it being a cheaper brush. Glad to say I’m getting better lol ❤️

Hi Suzie! I love your channel. I don’t even do my nails and I still watch. I love the relationship between you and “cameraman”🤭. I don’t have a lot of money so when I do paint my nails I use nail polish. Do you have any tip to stop the polish from drying away from my free edge( tip of my nails)? I have very short nails and I feel like I take the polish over the free edge and tip of my finger 😬 but then when the polish dries it ALWAYS pulls away. Gtg keep doing what you guys do and congratulations on how successful you two have become!

Can you please do a video on how to tell if a technician is doing your nails properly. Things to look for, bad signs, etc. Because whenever I get my nails done i feel like there are things i should be noticing. Love the educational content!
