    I had my nails done at a "salon" for the first time and I thought the brush he used was huge. I am prone to allergies and I did get dermatitis, but also could be because the drill bits he used were caked with product already. I chose a male tech because I assumed he would have a different passion for the art. Nah. It was a nightmare. He was not friendly and he treated me like i was dumb. We only have those in and out only profit matters salons around here. I wish we had passionate techs. I've been learning for a few years from these videos so I can do my own. I don't have the resources currently to become licensed, but my state requires the absolute bare minimum to do so. There is so much more to learn and these videos provide such valuable information they don't teach at all in these classrooms.

    that's all I see at these, how do I say it "commercial" places, they have the biggest brushes and they just plop the massive bead at the cuticle and let it flow to the end of the tip then just scoop the rest off and don't care about an apex or anything. I have been to probably around 20-30 different places in 3 different states and it is always the same. i have been looking for a long time trying to find anyone that does good nails, even the people that are in a smaller kind of self maned booth places still don't seem to care about apex or when going in to fill fixing the cracked areas( I always have the sides crack) and a lot of the time don't bother to take the lifted parts out. I've gotten greenies 3 times now because of it. i have given up hope on finding a good place that really cares about making good long-lasting nails. trying to learn to put them on myself. i really need to have them on because I have a really really bad nervous tick to bite my nails down do far that they bleed and hard acrilics is the only thing that stops it(I still bite them a little but somehow just the hardness of the nail stops me from reeeaaally biting them

    Can you reuse the monomer when only doing nail for yourself?
    Is size 6 brush good for both thumb and pinky? My pinky is about 1/3 size of my thumb.
    Can you use compact base gel under acrylic instead of bond/primer? The one that does not need primer.

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Год назад +2

      Actually sweetie, I wouldn’t do that. I have heard of that only once in the 35 years and yes you could do it. It would condition your brush, but then you’d probably have to use acetone to strip it completely out because any oil will conflict with the monomer. So if you’re going to use acetone I would condition with monomer. It works extremely well. I wouldn’t take a chance with oil.

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Год назад +6

      Honestly sweetie, it could be from literally anything that you’re using. And keep in mind we are assuming it’s the products. It also could be from other things. But if you think it’s from the products, the best thing to do is eliminate all products and it will clear up if it is the products. Then slowly you can introduce certain products maybe just try one finger and see what it does. The goal is to find out what ingredient it is that you are allergic to. Because it might not be in gel, and it might not be in acrylic, and it might not be in polish, and it might be an all of the above. And if you’re a nail technician glove up.
