Such a hauntingly beautiful melody. You hear those simple 4 notes and are instantly transported to a place you've never been, but it feels like home. 10/10

@@mathewvarghese930 the melody of the main motif starts off similarly and the chord progression matches pretty closely, but to say that it's "from elsewhere" isn't exactly accurate. My favorite part of this song's melody is entirely unrelated to/absent from the song you mentioned.
It's refreshing to see an anime intro to a game that isn't J-Pop.
The music in Ys is always fantastic.
I came here watching a bunch of Tales intros. This one is so much better.

Wow I am surprised at how many fans this series has in the west. It's not as big as KH that is for sure. One thing that I really like about Falcom is despite how small they are as a company they really love their fans. You have a supporter in me Falcom.
It is not as big but it is 1000x better than the degenerated button smashing character action game light with corridor levels and stupid retcon story which isn’t planned 5 meters ahead by this dilettante Nomura.

They love their worlds. Ys, Legend of Heroes... The worldbuilding IS great.
I didn't think, when I started Ys, that the world, lore and characterisation was so deep. Came for the action and the music, I stayed for the universe.

The visuals backed up with the amazing ost at the last minute is just perfect, easily one of the best openings to a game out there
I think this needs an anime series adaption. Ys series has a rich material.
I don't know but Adol seems to turn down every woman he meets whenever he leaves after Feena sealed herself though.

After memories of celceta and going back and playing vii I can't wait to play this, now all I need is the announcement of the western release for the legend of heroes trails of cold steel 3.

I wish so bad that there would be a localized version of Cold Steel 3 that gets a release in the west. I absolutely love The Legend of Heroes games. They're some of the best jrpg's ever in terms of story, characters, world building, lore, dialogue and combat/battle mechanics.
But from what I remember, the team that localized Cold Steel 1 & 2 said that they weren't doing 3. I could be misremembering or read it wrong. I certainly hope so because I'd do anything for them to bring it to the west.

Where did u hear that??? Xseed loves the trails games so Im definately sure they will bring over CS3, we'll just have to be patient. It was probably tits3rd or the crossbell games that you mistook CS3 not coming over for.
JMTube yeah they said with xseed recently that they have no future plans to localization of Cold steel 3. Maybe they'll change their minds in a few years. that was in an interview with xseed
I loved all Ys I played (1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9) and I really, really like the 9, monstrum nox, but Lacrimosa of Dana is still by far my favorit.
I love this game, amazingly fun and superb soundtrack! Thanks for bringing the japanese voices in the vita version, that was an amazing add on!

To be fair, those NeoGeo games (Last Blade 2 and Garou at least) were "remasters" with extra features and such. Those are worth having...and Superbeat Xonic is awesome. :)

this is a mid 2016 game lol, but rest assured the game optimization for vita is great, runs very well.

FearKV Well Xbox isn't known for their JRPGs considering that it's a western console unlike Nintendo and Sony which are Japanese. lol
And Steam. Look at the library there and you'll see a lot of legendary and classic JRPGs from different gens, including the Ys games.

Finished ys 8 a month ago and I had fun with it and can't wait for 9. Currently in the middle of Tokyo Xanadu and play trails of cold steel 1-3.

Alors le film d'ouverture prend encore plus de sens, une fois qu'on a terminé le jeu... je viens de le finir et j'en ai encore les poils dressés en visionnant cette magnifique cinématique ! Bravo Falcom... le vieux fan de la License que je suis ne pensais pas un jour, jouer à un jeu de cette qualité de gameplay, de scénario, de musique, de cette profondeur dans son sens large... plus on s'approche de la fin et moins on a envie d'y arriver... Du Hack and Slash comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent !

Seeing this opening reminds me of the opening for tales of vesperia. Seriously have not played a good jrpg since vesperia and i hope this one can do it for me.

Played it on my hacked vita. Than feel bad. Luckily I didn't finish it yet. Then I bought it on my nintendo switch. Still playing it... Enjoy it with every side quests. I haven't enjoy playing video games like this for a long time since I was a kid. I thought I'm getting older and getting less interested to play video games. Turn out, I was wrong. This game bringing back my gamer spirit.

昨日クリアしたけど、むちゃくちゃ面白かった。
So I check from the ending credits of this game and Cold Steel III & IV and I found out that the opening animation of these three games were made by Studio 3Hz. But why there's very different in the quality of Ys VIII op. anime and those of CS III & IV!? Did they blew the animation budget for this game and has to scrap out for the later two?
Played this after playing the Tales of series and booooooy I was not disappointed. Arguably better than the Tales of series. JRPGs always have the best storylines but most of them are turn based. Hate that.
