There’s a few points that you seemed to have missed. The biggest, and most important, reason for why House isn’t bothering with anything beyond the three casinos is that he’s coming so from a position of weakness. If you gain enough of his trust, he fully admits that he’s operating on borrowed time. If it wasn’t for the Legion looming over them, the NCR would have come up with one bs excuse or another and have annexed the strip and stormed the Lucky 38. Either the NCR wins, and they dispose of him one way or another, or the Legion wins, and they dispose of him. He’s in a lose, lose scenario until he gets the Platinum Chip. As such, all of his resources and attention has been solely focused on recovering the Platinum Chip. He didn’t have time for anything else. If House wins, he’d likely treat the residents of New Vegas like employees, but clearly planned on reactivating advanced education institutions in order to create a new science industry and robotics manufacturing base to get people to the stars.
But the video does address this, even if he does have the resources every cap spent on "fair wages" and "safe working conditions" is caps Mr. House doesn't have for his pet projects. CEOs don't do anything for the people under them unless forced, history has proven this. He will be as much of a tyrant as the giants of the early 1900s, except there will be no pity or remorse from robotic strike breakers with 9mm "riot suppression" weapons. Remember he purges the Kings if they sympathize with the NCR for doing charity House wouldn't; he doesn't try to win them over with soup kitchens and homeless shelters.
HOUSE cemented vault 21 because his own hidden underground bunker WAS the vault 21's lower sections, holding "Secrets" that even houses "right hand courier" could NEVER be allowed to see
As soon as he started talking about space travel and finding a new planet, I was hooked and always considered him as the best option for the whole of humanity Also he said that the NCR are the customers Also he is 100% right about the BOS Great video by the way, it’s great that RUclips has been guiding me to these smaller channels.
When he start talking about space travel, my full support just drop off and went with Yes Man. Felt a responsibility for the people of the Mojave to be left alone in peace and security.
I got "too good to be true" vibes from it. His plans to consolidate control of the Mojave hinges on screaming "do what I say, I'm rich!!" at a random guy he doesn't even know when things fall out of his control. It doesn't inspire confidence he actually knows what he's talking about ESPECIALLY when dealing with the human factor IE politics.
The interesting thing about his blue sky dream of sending colony ships to space is that it connects him to the Enclave, whose long-term plans to do the same thing included the Vaults. I'd guess that line is partially there so the player will make that connection and maybe begin to doubt him. Just like in the ending his promise to make the monorail run on time serves as a reminder of what kind of guy you've just put in charge. It's tempting to plead extenuating circumstances for many of his in-game actions. He has the funds to help Freeside, but he's been pouring all his resources into finding the Platinum Chip. Everything he's done has been to keep the NCR at bay and the money flowing in, all so he can find the chip. The casino tribes play dress-up and poor people are kept away on pain of death, all so the NCR keeps giving him money. Will he help Freeside now that he has the chip? Well, who knows... And of course, the most extenuating circumstance of all, he's played by Rene Auberjonois. How could I not side with him when it's such a pleasure to listen to him talk?
Thank you for covering this. And yes, he will achieve what says, it is implied in his victory ending. But, all this is more complicated than your conclusion. Courier 6 has the choice of saving Ted Gunderson and encouraging his father to continue developing his brahmin business into the Nevada wasteland, thus bringing cheap meat to humanity, which the White Gloves want to make an expensive privilege. House may not have considered nor likely cared too much for such extremely significant things. But, Courier 6 has the choice of bringing even the entire NCR state closer to House's corporate grip by playing well enough with them, as House still aims to do, like having President Kimball give his speech at the Dam, unmolested and safe, part of his long-term political machinations, else he wouldn't have you go out of your way for the NCR. Imagine NCR's ruling bodies (Brahmin barons, etc) getting absorbed by Mr. House. That's almost a quarter of the entire U.S.A.'s population, if not more. Vegas is merely the capital-generating machine which House uses as a tool, not only an exclusive and comfortable - which is the attraction - place to live, and he used it to every advantage he could. Vegas will just be the beginning, not the end of whom he recruits for his visions. I'm sure House would help who he can when he has the resources, otherwise the talk about sending people to space to develop a new society would not be said, but in the New Vegas timeline, House is really struggling and is at high risk of being cast asunder, hence the drastic action against street gangs appearing to be against him if they make peace with the NCR, on his very doorstep. It's all very complicated, but House is right to be cautious, given the circumstances and the outcomes that will follow. On a House playthrough post-ending, Courier 6 informing Mr. House of the teleportation technology at the Big MT would be a game-over for anyone getting in his way. The Zetan ship with The Lone Wanderer in Fallout 3, too, but we can pretend that doesn't exist.
Even though I belive him when he claims to not have interest in being worshipped as some kind of machine god messiah, I can't help but draw comparisons between him and the entity Helios from DeusEx. From that framework, he is simply not capable enough to be worthy of the serious magnitude of power he hopes to possess.
The people that work for him and survive him will do even better than House, because House will want it that way - he has plans for humanity, if he succeeded, and will not leave his legacy unmanaged nor mismanaged.
Just gonna point out house wouldn't be leaving he's effectively trapped inside the 38 unable to ever leave his cryo pod . When u kill him and try to put him back in he says no to just kill him bc he won't survive much longer due to infection.
For a video titled "How Mr. House Convinced you to abandon democracy", there really wasn't very much discussion on the downsides of democracy and how Mr. House plays into that... There are quite a lot of downsides, especially for a post-apocalyptic nation, but not many were mentioned other than like corruption and weakness. Of course, the NCR is actually a Republic, which represents its citizens even less than a democracy, but that is besides the point. Also, the hypothetical that was made about the whole town that is ghoulphobic is a little weird when a much more salient point would be how House does nothing about what is basically slavery that is happening with the... dancers at Gomorrah. It is very much an open secret house should know about that still violates human rights but House does nothing about it, and doesn't have you do anything about it when you investigate the casino. House is very much a "my way or the highway" type person, and doesn't care about problems that are not his own.
I guess the non glib answer for me is that he saw it all coming and she blocked bombs from destroying New Vegas. He did all the work and New Vegas has hit just his. It was rightfully his in the beginning your choice if it keeps its course but period. Centuries of being able to maintain it even even passively by allowing it to have the electrical current that it needs. First house doesn't have a problem with the new California Republic they have a problem with him. Because they can't easily absorbed him. I can't roll over him or make him do whatever they want. People like house are important because they show you the line and you don't cross it. The new telephone New Republic needed that. I get tired because it's like they're making all the same mistakes of The Enclave did. You know the dumbasses that blew up the world in the first place. House. Coming way before maybe even closer to 15 or more years before it ever happened. He tried to tell them they didn't listen a few people kind of bought it and that's where vault-tec came around. But it was like no one cared that they were ridiculous and it was just going to keep going until the resource war ended in death of billions. Whether they were killed in nuclear fire or they died of starvation for some horrible disease. I imagine much like in Fallout 4 in some of the areas around New Vegas people still survive and thrive but honestly if you had insurance for a better and brighter future under someone likes house why wouldn't you do anything to keep it. Your character is given the best life that she or she can have in the Wasteland. He doesn't mind if you visit him he just cares that you get things done. Unless you can give him a better alternative it's pretty much whatever he wants or you don't choose him. But almost everybody will have you kill him so there you know it's annoying okay. Almost everybody is Stevie and underhanded about it he'll pretty much just tell you to go and handle something. What tank do the Brotherhood of Steel Isis Happy to buy them out. So me and house we got along just fine.😂❤.
And all the people in Vegas who have lived there for generations should just accept that he owns their homes and communities because 200 years ago he shot down some nukes? He doesn't cross the line *with you* or *with the NCR* because you provide utility for him; but to most of the people in the Mojave he steps on them like bugs without a second thought. He'll force you off of your home because it's prime real estate, let you starve on the street, then murder the only people keeping the peace in your neighborhood after they warm up to the NCR for giving you a hot meal.
I've abandoned democracy much before House came into the picture. I like him cuz he already knows that "Democracy: The God That Failed" even though that book does not even exist in that timeline.
@@CyberController- Yes, a dictatorship disguised as democracy where I pay almost half of everything I produce in taxes and don't even have freedom of expression, but the foolish people consider this democratic.

i really appreciate that. this has been my most ambitious project yet. i honestly did not think it would be getting this much attention ,but im glad it is.
Mr. House is just the Yes Man ending, but for people that doesn't have the balls to do the hard work it takes to truly keep the Mojave from being bullied by the big bads. Instead of walking the Hard Road yourself, mr. House uses his money to turn said road into a monorail for the player. All you have to do is ride
Lol. The Yes Man route is setting up a rogue ai to rule the Mojave. It's the pie-in-the-sky, "I want to do this thing but don't want the natural consequences of my actions because cause & effect is mean" choice.
Mr. House didn't Radicalize me. He only saved my life. What I did from then on was all on Me. I saw the Mojave as the turgid wasteland it was and is. Everything out there is lost and for the taking. The Legion knows this. The NCR Knows this. The Flags may be Different but the Methods are the same. Frumentarii will plant bombs on the MonoRail and the NCR will respond with a Full-Scale bombing the likes of which litterally hadn't been seen since the Great War. And BOTH SIDES are willing to deploy such weapons on the VERY MONUMENT THEY FIGHT FOR!!! Its ALL A SHAM REGUARDLESS! I fight for the Flag of The only man with a goal OUTSIDE OF WAR! Because WAR!!!! NEVER. CHANGES.
All CEOs are basically kings, and thwir incentives for profit might lead them to treat the customer better than the other guy. Their not perfect, but their usually not genocidal idealist either.
He didn't though. I fully understood that he's a bad choice because on top of being too much into taking risk he's delusional, so corrupt NCR is still a better choice. ...but I had to go with Yes-man because I made some quest that barred me from going for their ending
Thanks for watching, if you liked the video, please like, subscribe and comment for the algorithm gods. and feel free to @ me with any questions or criticisms.
Lmao House goes pretty quick in my games since I side with Yes Man and he either gets a baseball bat to the dome or gets left in his feeding pod to survive like a crippled rata like Hector from Breaking Bad. House and Legion both have some decent critiques about democracy but their own systems are garbage themselves, so choosing Yes Man or even NCR is a much easier choice.
Well, it’s a simple matter of looking for the best ending for the Courier. Side with the NCR- You get a medal for everything you do. Side with the Legion- You get a coin for everything that you do. Independent Vegas- You get the hassle of trying to rule over a multitude of factions while worrying that Yes Man’s reprogramming will make him turn on you. Side with House- You get to live in luxury only a handful of people in the wastelands will ever experience while only having to perform a few tasks for House here and there, while it’s heavily implied that he’ll eventually share his active cryo tech with you and allow you to be either immortal or live for centuries. Not too hard of a choice to make if you’re looking out for yourself.
@@hisdudeness8328 “looking out for your self” That’s pretty much Mr. House ending. However I do believe that Mr. House is the kind of guy who only gives you what you buy type and frankly yes it’s kind of harsh in the world of Fallout but I don’t view as an evil move as for the NCR I still view them as hope for Humanity.

Exactly. He was cast out of his inheritance by his half-brother, but instead built his own companies that contracted for the U.S. military with his scientific acumen and business genius.
Nah, the only reason you HAVE to kill the BOS, is because originally, you used to be able to get them to work with house, but then they removed it because it made his ending seem too good. But yeah, they would cause problems. And he doesn't prioritize the rich, he prioritizes the competent. Your points boil down to a bunch of what ifs that you just theorize are bad.
All of the "What Ifs" presented in this video are literally historical things mega-rich CEOs did; if you go back to the 1900s in fact this is just how all the "titans of industry" acted all of the time barely constrained by the law if even. Ever heard of the Pinkerton Detective Agency? They made their bread being hired thugs to go beat the crap out of strikers and intimidate people into not unionizing... and all of those guys would have said their riches were proof of their competence. Henry Ford and Andrew Carnegie didn't respect the guys on the line for doing their job well, that was expected. They respected other rich guys, and how do rich guys prove they are competent? Fat bank accounts.
House is a hard sell against Democracy because at least Generationally the ncr can change and get better. House is 1 man who could live for a good amount of time and any 1 person at the helm is disastrous. Even the communist party in China is changing every generation. Unless you think earth is doomed and we should aim for the stars, which the idea that it would be easier to start life on a new planet will be easier then fixing the one we're on is also just crazy. Hes inspirational no doubt. When he did his monolog the first time I was hyped but in the end, unless you think democracy is bad, which it is definitely flawed but imo is better than anything else, hes just a silly option, but i like the story he represents. He makes sense as he is and its easy to see why he think like he does. New vagas is great because every faction is represented well and have points to make. Great video btw. Keep it up.
This feels pretty present, with Milei now president in my country. He's not an autoritarian YET, but his speech seems pretty similar. A whole lot of "i don't care what people do in their lives" (the positive), "the market will regulate itself alone"; "nothing is free"; "THERE IS NO MONEY"; "if it is rentable"; "people will find a way". Some are exact quotes, some aren't. This phrases within themselves aren't bat, but when you wrap'em up into the context of his full right-wing measures, it all resonates a lot with Mr. House to me.
I agree with almost everything said here and that's why I don't ever pick House. My one minor gripe, however, is House' ultimate goal sounds more like communism than capitalism. It's a state run economy that promises riches but only the elite will ever be able to take advantage of it. It has the veneer of capitalism, but House holds all the cards. Pun intended.
House is like Singapore style capitalist technocracy where there is an educated elite in charge and a meritocracy to join the ruling party. The working class do not own the means of production nor is there any intention to eliminate class, so it isn't communist or socialist at all
If I had my free choice, I would follow the Yes Man route, but once the Legion is defeated, use the Securitron army as leverage to negotiate better terms with the NCR. In other words, I want Vegas to be a full member of the republic, not a colony.
why become a member of the NCR? why pledge loyalty to a federal goverment?probably sign away your rights and freedoms and have a Federal government have a say in what you can and cannot do?. The only good reason to do so would be cos for security reasons. But you already have an Army of Securitrons. You only stand to lose more by joining the NCR with the YES man route.
@@ganargxkraken not true. NCR has capabilities which can make the relationship mutually beneficial. And if they double cross me, I have the Securitrons and can kick them out.
I honestly can't see how people see any faction BUT the NCR as a choice. You either live under a strongman dictatorship constantly under threat of collapse when it's leader dies, live under a strongman dictatorship where the leader doesn't care about his constituents as long as quotas and timelines are met, or you live under a flawed democracy where properly motivated people can induce change in the system.

HOUSE cemented vault 21 because his own hidden underground bunker WAS the vault 21's lower sections, holding "Secrets" that even houses "right hand courier" could NEVER be allowed to see
As soon as he started talking about space travel and finding a new planet, I was hooked and always considered him as the best option for the whole of humanity
Also he said that the NCR are the customers
Also he is 100% right about the BOS
Great video by the way, it’s great that RUclips has been guiding me to these smaller channels.
His plans are why I support him.
House had nothing to do with it. The realities of it did.
"House Convinced you to abandon democracy" Abandon?
He can leave with his pod though, if it's removed properly and not by some moron banging on a control panel to pull him out of his tube.
House is a nice guy and a good guy.
Mr House didn't convince me to abandon Democracy. The NCR convinced me to abandon the NCR's version of Democracy
It wasn’t hard in my case, deep down I’d never actually accepted it
Mr. House didn't convince me of shit, I killed him every time
Sad
I've abandoned democracy much before House came into the picture. I like him cuz he already knows that "Democracy: The God That Failed" even though that book does not even exist in that timeline.
"Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the other ones"
@@CyberController- i disagree.
@@DragonMrDarkness And have you lived under anything else?
@@CyberController- Yes, a dictatorship disguised as democracy where I pay almost half of everything I produce in taxes and don't even have freedom of expression, but the foolish people consider this democratic.
@@CyberController- In what sense?
As if I needed convincing.
The BEST choice is obviously YesMan.
lol even the Anarchy idealist Arcade Gannon gives up hope for the dumpster fire that Independent Vegas turns out being.
Abandoning democracy is easy, just gotta look at how it works in practice and not in paper.
Good stuff. 👍
Glad you enjoyed!
damn bro this was very insightful to the thought process of mr house. very interesting!
😂❤ yeah well house always wins in my file. At least my headcanon I'm Shameless in that period. Because he's the one of the few that could get you to space.
House is a good fella
Great video, I was surprised when I saw you were such a small channel.
i really appreciate that. this has been my most ambitious project yet. i honestly did not think it would be getting this much attention ,but im glad it is.
Mr. House is just the Yes Man ending, but for people that doesn't have the balls to do the hard work it takes to truly keep the Mojave from being bullied by the big bads. Instead of walking the Hard Road yourself, mr. House uses his money to turn said road into a monorail for the player. All you have to do is ride
and this is bad because?
Lol. The Yes Man route is setting up a rogue ai to rule the Mojave. It's the pie-in-the-sky, "I want to do this thing but don't want the natural consequences of my actions because cause & effect is mean" choice.
@@appalachianwarcriminal Is he trying to say that it's bad, though?
reading it gave me that impression@@DarkAdonisVyers
Well done video, love the edits!
Oh boy this video has attracted all sorts of edgelords.
God help me what have I done
He didn't though. I fully understood that he's a bad choice because on top of being too much into taking risk he's delusional, so corrupt NCR is still a better choice. ...but I had to go with Yes-man because I made some quest that barred me from going for their ending
Monaco in the wasteland
Thanks for watching, if you liked the video, please like, subscribe and comment for the algorithm gods. and feel free to @ me with any questions or criticisms.
Given how much of a joke the "democratic" NCR is in FNV, its not even a matter of choice.
Jokes on you, House was a competitor and in my game, he lost pretty hard lmaoo
Lmao House goes pretty quick in my games since I side with Yes Man and he either gets a baseball bat to the dome or gets left in his feeding pod to survive like a crippled rata like Hector from Breaking Bad. House and Legion both have some decent critiques about democracy but their own systems are garbage themselves, so choosing Yes Man or even NCR is a much easier choice.
There are thing that makes Mr.House best choice from players perspective and one is that Mr.House is honest about himself and what he wants.
@@hisdudeness8328
“looking out for your self”
That’s pretty much Mr. House ending.
However
I do believe that Mr. House is the kind of guy who only gives you what you buy type and frankly yes it’s kind of harsh in the world of Fallout but I don’t view as an evil move as for the NCR I still view them as hope for Humanity.
I went with the Yes Man ending when I played as I was doing all the work so I wanted to be in charge. I got rid of Mr House.
I’ve beaten NV many times… I actually never did the house ending. Huh
Turn down the music cuzzzz
was it loud throughout the video, or just in the beginning?
You defo control it more later on in the video, but some of the music peask still pass your speaking threshold.
Try and keep the music below your voide dB
So if your voice peaks at -12dB keep the music's peaks no higher than -16dB
This will reduce the interference between your voice and music
Its only an example not saying use these figures
Great job tho!@@Monifans
@@Dave-pn9rw that’s some great advice! Thanks for the tip and I’m glad you enjoyed
basically not as bad as Elona emerald mine musk
Keep it up.
Mr. House did no such thing. The ghouls that slaughtered the tenpenny towers residents did that. TGD. Total ghoul death. O/
Democracy is not a good thing.
Fallout fans: You mean the Enclave, Mr. House, and Ceasars Legion arent supposed to be the good guys?
The good guys are always the coolest looking.
"The good guys are always the coolest looking." So... The Enclave, then?
This feels pretty present, with Milei now president in my country. He's not an autoritarian YET, but his speech seems pretty similar. A whole lot of "i don't care what people do in their lives" (the positive), "the market will regulate itself alone"; "nothing is free"; "THERE IS NO MONEY"; "if it is rentable"; "people will find a way". Some are exact quotes, some aren't. This phrases within themselves aren't bat, but when you wrap'em up into the context of his full right-wing measures, it all resonates a lot with Mr. House to me.
melei is what mr. house would be if he was a simpleton lol. good luck and much love to argentina.
@@Monifans Thanks! It's good to read nice words about my country. There's a lot of fanatism, division and hatred here.
good video but pls mix your audio better i can barely hear you over the music
Elon Musk but also the Combine
So he's Elon Musk? I figured that out years ago lol.
Only two of the dam's eight turbines are running, and the NCR has the manufacturing to make replacement parts for the other six. At which point there will be enough power to send the extra to the NCR without depriving the Strip. Plus no tariffs on water sales to the NCR if I'm part of it. And if they double cross me, I have the Securitrons and can kick them out.
@@windwalker5765 Second-worse choice. Little Caesar's is the worst.
The NCR wants to arrest Arcade, a 35-year-old man, for a 40-year-old crime. The understandable future state of California, given that Californians today somehow think that math is "racist"... Or is it just "reparations" for what his father did? An even more disgusting concept.
NCR, good for nothing but sucking up all the water in the region until everyone's dead... just like modern California.
It is a slow walk from Democracy to Despotism but it goes quick.
The real life corporate autocrats which will bring that are the total opposite of Mr. House.
I wish this game was never released.
