@@sauceboogie174 What you said was a complete insult. And Shannon would have disagreed with you. I loved Blind melon but levels above my ass. Can't stand guys like you. You just don't get it
I first heard these guys around Christmas of '92 when I visited an old but good friend whom I rarely saw. As we talked and caught up, I eventually noticed the music he had playing in the background, and soon, I was transfixed by it. I stopped the conversation with, "Dude, what IS this music we're listening to?" He pulled out the CD case and said it was some CD he picked in the bargin-bin at Strawberries. The intertwining of the two guitars was hypnotic. The drums were grunge-like, but oftentimes, I could not tell which guitar was supposed to be the lead and which was the rhythm, and the bass was more melodic than most... and that voice! Forget it! This was a departure from the grunge sound to which I had become accustomed. I was fascinated and ended up buying my own copy and played it pretty much non-stop for several months. Eventually, the radio started playing it and I was elated that the music scene had seemingly noticed a great and very creative band. It still holds up 30 years later. Has it REALLY been that long?!
The band in general was very tight ! Bass was grateful dead like , guitars were kind a solid d of its own kind of like the stones , drums grunge and that voice ! (I swear Janis Joplin came back as Shannon )
The 90s was definitely unique, a time when you could just be. It was real and everything meant something, perhaps the last generation to truly keep it real. Collest time ever.
I love Shannon but I believe the BAND was incredible. They all grew together and brought out the best in each other. Their dynamic made him incredible. Blind Melon was a band, all so great
One time, no more. That's how many times I was Blessed by seeing this band perform. We named our 2nd child Shannon for this man. His charisma, stage presence, magnetism, voice, and aura are missed, here in this realm, I do know that.
You are so lucky ! I am in my early 40's . I was a little you to be a melonhead . I was only 13 when he died but now I just watched what I missed out on. Truly an amazing band and now probably my favorite .
2024 and still one of my favourite songs. Commenting on this version as I remember this being the first time I heard it and thought 😮😮😮😮😮😮. Top Song. I wonder if in 30 years time kids will stumble across a chart hit from today and think, wow still good all these years later 🤔🤔
Sitting alone @ home; and, this came on. I'm a musician/ singer-songwriter; @ a glance, I knew these kids were the real deal or just, wannabes. I was blew away; and, will never forget this moment. Blindmelon gave me hope, when, I had serious blues going. Thank you guys...
Growing up I often wondered how it was from my dad & uncles point of view of living through the great music and releases they had experienced and passed on. I was in HS when this all exploded. The 90’s had it all. Thankfully giving us Shanon Hoon
Gracias al compa que me puso esta canción, el ya dejo de soñar y paso al más allá, gracias a esta canción años más tarde logré salir de muchas cosas que casi acaban mi vida , gracias compa , gracias shannon por esta gran pieza de arte y vida !!!!
I don't feel the sun's coming out today It's staying in now, it's gonna find another way yeah As I sit here in this misery I don't Think I'll ever no See the sun from here And oh as I fade away Some people will say, yeah They'll all look at me and they'll say "Hey, look at him" I'll never live that way And that's ok Just afraid to change When you feel life ain't worth living You've got to stand up, and Take a look around, look up way to the sky, hell yeah And when your deepest thoughts are broken Keep on dreamin' boy, when you stop dreamin' it's time to die And I don't want to die And as we all play parts of tomorrow Some ways we'll work, and other ways we'll play, yeah But I know we can't all stay here forever So I'm gonna write my words on the face of today And then they'll paint it Give me a fantasy, you gotta play me a tune One that can make us all happy Give me the days to take us down from these blues Sing a song, baby play a guitar Baby make it snappy yeah You are the one who can make us all happy Why do it baby, no you bring out the tears Don't be so sad, if you were in my new head Right now, known you for all of these years And oh as I fade away They'll all look at me and say Yeah they'll look at me and say "Hey look at him, and where he is these days?" When life is hard you have to change When life is hard you have to change Mmm
This was the last song he ever played in Houston. My parents went to this concert they said the concert was amazing despite reports of him being upset with the bands performance .
I have this on the KTS "Sting me" CD. Unsurpassable rendition, the only one I ever listen to. Ah, those were the days, when you could find bootlegs of such quality...
One of top best singers, musicians /songwriters, performers of his generation and the grunge movement but yet so underrated and unappreciated
Calling blind melon grunge is almost disrespectful...levels above most of their contemporaries
@@sauceboogie174 I was just going there myself. They were definitely not grunge in any way, shape or form.
American singer songwriter. That's what he was. I miss him.

You just perfectly summed up my own introduction to the band that I’ve loved for 30 or so years! The guitars are mesmerising.
The band in general was very tight ! Bass was grateful dead like , guitars were kind a solid d of its own kind of like the stones , drums grunge and that voice ! (I swear Janis Joplin came back as Shannon )
Love that comment
His vocal performance in this is mind-blowing

Shannon Hoon was a natural. What a voice. My God, to what heights would he have taken Blind Melon?
My favourite band, completely underrated.
The hardest part is knowing you have to change, but not being able to do it. Life is hard

@@marianoargentina3001 Uff si la armónica. A mi me regalaron una de pendejo y ni la miraba. Que boludazo era.
These guys were so sycronizd. Long live the melon. Memories of what was
Love his voice and the mandolin was fabulous. The band members are equally talented- they created such a beautiful sound together.
All of sudden a mandolin. And their sweet acoustic guitar playing
Another beautiful song that has been in my mind forever. Indiana and music misses shannon!

The words on his tombstone are the lyrics of this song and he never knew that this moment in his life is the one people remember him by.
Best version of this song by far,
When Music still came from the Soul
Shannon's Look At The End...You Know...🥹😭

Miss you Shannon. Miss you Blind Melon.
Absolute Magical 👋
Change can be great !!
90s was a great decade for rock.
I don't feel the sun's coming out today
It's staying in now, it's gonna find another way yeah
As I sit here in this misery I don't
Think I'll ever no
See the sun from here
And oh as I fade away
Some people will say, yeah
They'll all look at me and they'll say
"Hey, look at him"
I'll never live that way
And that's ok
Just afraid to change
When you feel life ain't worth living
You've got to stand up, and
Take a look around, look up way to the sky, hell yeah
And when your deepest thoughts are broken
Keep on dreamin' boy, when you stop dreamin' it's time to die
And I don't want to die
And as we all play parts of tomorrow
Some ways we'll work, and other ways we'll play, yeah
But I know we can't all stay here forever
So I'm gonna write my words on the face of today
And then they'll paint it
Give me a fantasy, you gotta play me a tune
One that can make us all happy
Give me the days to take us down from these blues
Sing a song, baby play a guitar
Baby make it snappy yeah
You are the one who can make us all happy
Why do it baby, no you bring out the tears
Don't be so sad, if you were in my new head
Right now, known you for all of these years
And oh as I fade away
They'll all look at me and say
Yeah they'll look at me and say
"Hey look at him, and where he is these days?"
When life is hard you have to change
When life is hard you have to change
Mmm
This was the last song he ever played in Houston. My parents went to this concert they said the concert was amazing despite reports of him being upset with the bands performance .
