      I have found out that short sessions, many times is the best approach for meditating in the beginning. Just as in the analogy of going to the gym, doing too much to soon is the case. If there are too many thoughts while practicing, try to let them come and go without getting too attached to them. I guess that distractions can be like weight lifting. After awhile you may notice that the thoughts will not bother as much. I hope that this has helped in any way.

    My mind has been very much I monkey territory as of recently - chaotic, out of control, distracted - and it's been hard for me to focus truely on anything. Granted, this might be due to external factors that I don't have complete control over, but I haven't been truely doing anything about it besides several tests here and there. I haven't done meditation in a bit as I do find myself struggling to do it when "I could be doing other things" (which I don't end up doing) but maybe I should return back to it. I was quite a bit more at a sustainable baseline than where I am right now.
    I really liked how you talked about the different types of meditation and their uses. While I can't fully remember all of them right now (I was briefly distracted), it does provide information and adjustability for anyone who does want to try it. I struggle with awareness while drifting back to sleep during awakenings in the night, so I might need to try the one that was brought up for that!
    When you brought up sponsorships in last week's stream, I thought it was going to happen in a few weeks but this came as a surprise! I didn't jump over it as it seemed interesting (and the Cosmøtron-like effects had my brain thinking of connections). I've never actually heard of that company before so, I might look more into it! Fantastic video as always - time for my second watch through!

    I'll check later. here donation for the hard work and save us from misinformation and give us the correct information. I have a short question. I use a little reality check. I look after the object/color and then I look away, and then I look again after the object/color, if it changes then I am dreaming. is this a good reality check? because a dream isn't stable, is it?

    • @DanielLoveOrg
      @DanielLoveOrg  Год назад +3

      Jim, you're brilliant - thank you for helping me to keep making these videos! To answer your question, it's a pretty good reality test - although I'd aim for something a little more complex and abstract such as text or a digital display. Think of these stability tests (as that's what they all are) as essentially a means of interrupting short term memory, In the dream, the moment you look away from something, it doesn't exist anywhere other than in your memory - so with a colour change test, when you look away, fill your mind with as many other colours you can imagine... interrupt the memory process. Hope that helps!

    I was a bit turned off by the mention of product recommendations and advertising. I understand the need for it, but I can't help but expect bias to come from it.
    However, I note that your lessons and explanations are getting much more detailed lately. So, the quality of your videos is even greater.
    I realized recently that I didn't truly grasp the concept of low resolution dreamsigns. I was still focused on objects and events.
    Now I'm catching the feelings popping up. Anxiety, fear, embarrassment and I'm seeing them in my dream journal.
    I also realized that by testing Reality when I went to the loo was not helping. I'm now looking for the moment when I first feel the, you know need.
    I don't meditate nearly as much as I did a couple of years ago, but I find a lot more continuity throughout the day rather than mindless distraction.

    @LucidDreamPortal Hello! I tried meditating while walking today and I'm wondering if I'm doing it correctly. I meditate by focusing on my breathing while also noticing emotions and distractions and thinking about where they come from. I let distractions exist for a few seconds to think about them, then I return all of my focus to the breathing again. (As a side effect, the consistent breathing seems to help me remember that I'm meditating or that I'm trying to maintain a lucid mindset because my breathing will still be deep and consistent even when I forget about being lucid for a short moment, which I'll notice after a short while.)
    Do you think this is an effective way to meditate? I feel like I'm struggling to find a balance between being present by noticing things happening around me, noticing my distractions and focusing on my breathing, and I feel like I'm a bit more passively present than when I'm only focusing on being lucid, so I was wondering if you have any tips so I can feel confident about my meditation/lucidity.

    Hi. Would it be enough to sit everyday for 10 minutes and focus on your senses one at a time, or just your breathing? Are there more specific lucid dreaming meditation practices out there that i should be aware of?

    • @DanielLoveOrg
      @DanielLoveOrg  Год назад

      As long as you're building the skills of focus, what you focus on isn't too important. The trick is to learn to balance between focus and distraction (mind wandering). 10 minutes is a good start. I'd aim for 30 minutes a day.

    Which type of meditation helps most with making your dreams more vivid?

    • @DanielLoveOrg
      @DanielLoveOrg  Год назад +1

      Technically all REM dreams *should* be vivid, it's mostly your memory of the event that is unclear. So improving dream recall would be the best first approach. But, walking open-eye mindfulness meditations, where you fully engage your senses during waking life, will help you to do the same in dreams - which will create a stronger memory, but also focus your attention on such things. For example, if you want dreams with more scents, focus a lot on scent in your waking life.

    Hey Daniel. I used the CTB (catching the butterfly) method. It works well for me. I used Is this a dream and found myself at Hogwarts lol. It's like I tied it to that place. Then I switched it to my dream goal. I then woke up and checked my phone. It didn't work. Then I went wait I'm dreaming. I then tried to spawn my crush using my cell phone. Its light was dim and I could hardly text her. It was so real. It worked twice for me last night. I have recorded tons of dreams so I get about 5 chances to WILD. I'm also doing CAT. I started waking up at 6:30 naturally so I decided to do it. I'm hyped now. Finally a method that works. Have you ever replaced is this a dream with dream goal?
