How Dare You Sell Me A Dangerous Car

- There are three plaintiffs. They bought a car from the defendant and they say the car had major issues when they received it. They took it to a mechanic, who told them there was no emergency brake and a broken spark plug. They’re suing for a refund, car repairs, locksmith costs, and car parts. The defendant argues the plaintiffs never paid in full for the car. He’s countersuing for balance owed, repossession costs, and slander.
It's unrealistic to think a vehicle with a price tag of $1,500 won't have some issues.
No such thing as a perfect 1500 dollar used car.
I'm looking to buy a car for about that much. I'll pay for it without getting it checked out. Know anybody? 😂
Exactly correct
@@anthonyslazas6413 sure there is. I bought my car off Craigslist for 1400 and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Still driving it 10 years later and runs like a dream. Some people take care of their stuff.
@@BREEZYM6015 offer up and/Craigslist. Got mine for 1200 (guy was asking 14 but we talked him down). My uncle bought his truck for 800. These are pre-2010 cars and still both work amazingly. My brother also got a new (2018) BMW in 2020 for free. This woman got a divorce and was just trying to get rid of it. Those gems are one in a million but some people are desperate. Some people are addicts or in rough spots and need money and will sell it super cheap because they're desperate. Keep your eyes open and good luck ☺️
You pay your mechanic to inspect it BEFORE you buy it! Especially when it only cost $1500.
Bought the car, THEN took it to the mechanic?! Looks like their priorities were reversed! Plus, they're stuck paying off the balance! Avoid buying cars from friends or family, the disadvantages usually outweigh the benefits.
💯
Took words right out my mouth especially buying then mechanic. Made zero sense
or as is car sales.
Always test drive the vehicle and take to your mechanic before you buy a used or new car. Buying as is, means you are buying someone's headache, and it is now yours
Self-entitled people just aren't going to win in these cases...
People seem to operate under the delusion that a used car is supposed to be in better condition than a brand-new one.
Three clowns walk into a courtroom...And get an uno reverse now they owe what they owe. Should have been titled clowning around ,no spark plugs, no start. No transmission fluid, no drive... who cares if the parking brake didn't work.
Even though they drove it home they complained it had no spark plugs. Could they lie some more?
People are delusional. You pay $1,500 for it and you are surprised it is not working?
If you buy a 1k car, be prepared to spend at least 1-2k in repairs the first year.
Unless you fix it yourself and just buy the parts off RockAuto ....easy peezy
These folks are proof that the educational system has failed! thank teachers unions and WOKE culture.
In other words you get what you pay for
Never sell anyone you know a car or a house. Never do it
They bought the car for $1500 - of COURSE there will be problems! I'm tired of trying to sell something for a very low price and the customer expecting it to be perfect.
It’s crazy whenever idiots give scrap prices and want that 20 year 200k mile warranty haha that shit cost more than what they give in full
Judge is right, a thousand car ain't worth shit!
You can’t buy tires for 1K
Always do your research. If the price is way cheaper than you think it should be, DO NOT BUY
"The defendant is accused of unloading a hoopdee." The way I burst out laughing.
How is it possible that a Judge who has Judged THOUSANDS of cases of people with bad credit has NEVER heard of a "Buy Here, Pay Here" Car Lot?
Doesn't move on that economic circle😳😳
Exactly 🙄
@@Dilberts_Dogbert but her litigants do

Car has no spark plugs ? Did they Flintstones it down the street

It had sparkplugs, otherwise the car would start at all. But evidently they were worn or corroded. Probably hadn't been changed in forever.
Young man, go buy a decent car. Quit crying thru your momma.
What if he cannot afford "your decent" car. It is stupid to judge a person like that.
@@Mario-ur8ti Then walk.
You buy a $1000 car and expect it to not be a piece of junk… it’s a thousand dollar car
How much does it cost to have a mechanic to look at a car before buying it.
Thank you for rescuing the animals
10:29 bro forgot to take the tag off the sleeve of his new jacket.
Great catch! I love when people point out things like this!🤣
Defendant is a smartass, for he has a sly remark for everything, and he is no mechanic, for when the engine light comes on, may not have anything to do with the spark plugs, it can be a million to one issues with the engine. He is slick and took advantage of a woman who knew nothing about cars and as is sales.
I'm so counfused how these people think it's helping them to say that they were told it was in PERFECT condition when A) The prices was $1000 and B) they weren't the owner at any time!
I don't understand how some people can be so gullable. check the car out. if you know nothing about cars, get it checked. small price to pay. christ!
I had a Ford Taurus and it was the absolute worst car I have ever owned.
Ford stands for Found On Road Dead or Fix Or Repair Daily.

I'm about to sell a $1500 car, 2007 Saturn Ion that runs perfectly. Absolutey no issues with engine and transmission. Cosmetically it's ugly with scratches.
And the minute someone buys it something will break. Hope they understand the words “as is” and don’t try to sue you. And make sure they pay cash up front in full before you hand over the car.
@@daymonnin lol well the buyer will know it's as is but again the engine and transmission is tops
Wow!! Really! JM has never heard of a “buy here/pay here” car lot?? Seriously?? This woman needs to get out in the real world!!
Not “it’s the case of whoopdi doo “ 😂😂😂😂
No spark plugs? How did it move off the lot?
Perhaps it was a diesel
It had sparkplugs, otherwise the car would start at all. But evidently they were worn or corroded. Probably hadn't been changed in forever.
On a $1500 car I wouldn't even take the buyers call the next day.
Idiots who don't get used vehicles checked by a mechanic before buying them end up grinning in court looking like jack-o- lanterns.
defendant is not a bad dealer he has been here before.
0:22 is the one in white into kung fu?
I’m trying to figure it out 😩😂😂😂
Lol!
They really sued the guy to get their money back and have him pay for repairs on the car. They never even paid the totally amount. But wanted a free car with all repairs free 😂😂😂
I’ll NEVER understand why people think they’re gonna get a great running car for anything less than 10k
I'm not gonna lie.... The defendant looked shady by how he looked... turns out the man is official!!! My apologies!!
That gold chain😂😂😂
She should get the money for the ignition change.
Cheap cars can be awesome….
BUT you need to
1: know how to pick the right car
2: be prepared to roll up your sleeves
3: CHECK YOUR DAMN OIL
Love the narrator, he's not A.I!
I thought the judge says, "Grab the closest roll of toilet paper and a crayon for proof, now she says Don't you have paper
They've been doing a lot of re-uploads lately (as in its already been uploaded to RUclips multiple times) this show was on almost as long as judge Judy play something new
The judge never heard of a buy here here pay here lot 😂😂 . How can this be the first case
Seriously? Plaintiff thought JM decision was wrong? Uh?? They bought a car for &1500!! What did they expect? (I didn’t catch if they had a mechanic look at it beforehand or not? But if not, they should have!! If they did, perhaps they should be suing him??)
They didn’t. They went to one soon after because the car started having problems.
Imagine being so rich that you've never heard of a buy here, pay here car lot.
I sold a 91 civic with 267k miles for $500, I had people ask if I was the original owner, if ever in a accident, can I pay for inspection, a Warranty. I'm like its a 30 year old car with almost 300k miles you know what your buying 😂
The defendant facial hair is giving me Wooly Willy vibes😆
My first thought was that guy's beard is a paint-on 😂
Them teeth.
What planner/journal are you using for this process ?
Let me get this straight. The plaintiff wants all her money back, AND she wants to keep the car, AND she wants the defendant to pay all repairs to make her as-is car as good as she wants it to be, all for free? Wow. What world does she live in?
This guy is a car salesman, the repo man, the tax guy 😅
5:17 When people says thing “cut on” it makes no sense. The definition of cutting some thing is to separate or sever. When an engine light turns on it’s sending power to the light. It’s not cutting power. The light is not turning off. HOW CAN THINGS CUT ON?
I never understood why no one holds the damn swinging door when someone is walking behind them smh lolol
Why do people expect a cheap used car to work perfectly. Most people don't get rid of their cars until they start being cash cows.
Did I hear the defendant say plug or wiring is the only reason the engine light comes on? I believe he succeeded in lying and the judge did not catch it, or she ignored it.
Reposting a lot of old videos huh?
Right! Lets get some classics no one has seen in years! 🌸
Seriously! I know judge has a new show but you would think they would pull out some older episodes!!!
20 years and Wapner as well
A $1,000 car is never a car in good working condition.
I'm not saying she is right, but the defendant really set up an expectation that he would "take care" of a lot when he didn't have to.
Why didn't the plaintiff take the car to a mechanic so they will know what's wrong with it instead of paying for a car

Nowhere on earth are you going to find a $1,000 car with a bumper to bumper warranty. Unless of course you have a time machine and travel back to the 1940s and stay there. 😂
In fact, nowadays, you're unlikely to find a car that even runs for $1,000.
This case was just crazy all around who is the person next to the son his mother
This car is a piece of junk….give me more money ! 🤣 this logic is insane on behalf of majority of these litigants!
How about instead of paying a locksmith $300. you give the defendant the $300., beg for his forgiveness & pay him off asap? Might even redeem you in his mother's eyes too. What the hell kind of "qualified" animal rescuer can she be when she's also a nasty thief that steals from her "best" friend's kid? LOCK UP YOUR CATS & DOGS IF YOU LIVE NEAR HER! Disgusting!

Tbh what did they expect for a car that is $1000 dollars? Of course your going to encounter problems
Chain around the outside of a shirt is tacky.😂😂
They were wrong to try sue for an as is car deal and deserved to lose. But they were right in one thing 10:52 he is a shady car salesman and a loan shark. How many other people has he ripped off in the same way by illegally repossessing their car who didn't come forward.
I’ve known plenty of people who bought from buy here pay here and they sell cars that are high mileage and usually not really clean but they provide a service. Most who buy from a guy like the defendent have no or poor credit and otherwise have no transportation. Usually they cost more than $1500 so he did them a solid and they wanted something for nothing. I’m glad they lost, it’s a learning experience.
@@carolyndavis6657 They deserved to lose, but I can't stand people who pray on others by lending money at a high interest rate and this guy didn't even provide paperwork for the deal.

Guess I spoke too soon. I see you’re back to spamming RUclips with the same videos you’ve already posted a million times already
I’ve had plenty of 1000 cars in my life. If they last you a year you made out really well. Still cheaper than paying for a brand new one. You just have to decide whether the trade off is worth it to you.
Exactly
It’s never worth it
@@cantgetbettathanthisagree.. having to look for a different car every year? Hard pass
Not always the case. One of the best cars I've owned was only $50. Drove it for several years, commuting over a mountain pass daily. Sold it to a couple friends who drove it over a mountain pass daily, also for a couple years. One of those friends bought out the other friends interest in the car and continued driving it for a couple more years. He eventually abandoned the car and it got towed...it was still running and driving at that point.
1985 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Indestructible. I beat the living 💩 out of it and it wouldn't die.
The first 5 cars i owned were less than $2,000 TOTAL.
Yes, I'm pretty old, and deals like that no longer exist. 😔
I agree 100%, especially if you are mechanical at all. The right $1000 car can be a very good car.
If he was a good person he should have let them return the car the next day. Because if the next day it had obvious issues like portrayed by the plantiffs than the car wasnt worth anything and he knew it...but wanted to get something out of it. Sounds kinda shady. Idk how people do stuff like this. But on the other hand the Plantiffs learned a valuable lesson. I learned this as well at 19. Can't buy a lemon. You get what you pay for. And the law is buy "as is." Gotts be careful what you sign snd purchase. Know the laws because so many shady salesman are out there to get you if your gullible.
It has nothing to do with whether he is a good person or not. This is business. The plaintiff has to do their due diligence before the purchase and not rely on what a salesman tells them. If so, it wouldn't matter if he is shady or not. You can't skip over a major step in a used car purchase and then whine about it.
The $1000 they paid should have told the young man the car wasn’t worth anything. Come on now 🙄
That is not how the world works. Whatever the problems with the as is car they bought, that does not cause a financial liability on the defendants part especially when they still owed money on the car.
