Why Kriya Yoga Is The Best Active Meditation

  • Shifting into lightness without trying. Kriya clears the channels for maha prana (supreme life force) as we practice towards kundalini rising (divine connection). Kriya rewires the brain, to break old patterns. It detoxes the body of negative emotions. This is done through breath work, tapping and dynamic movement.
    This is an intermediate practice due to the prana upsurge, (creating a forced upward soaring current by manipulating the breath) It's a full body kriya practice for grounding, purifying, and raising your frequency. It is not suitable to pregnant women.
    Kriya is a branch of Raja Yoga and therefore unlike the hatha yoga lineage, the movements are quite weird and different. It is energy yoga. Its aim is for spirituality, wisdom and beyond. A fast track to touch divinity while staying in the body. This is done by using breath work, tapping and dynamic movement.
    Kriya Yoga was a closely guarded practice passed from guru to disciple, descended from Maha Avatar Babaji. Today this practice has been transformed to suit the restless over thinkers of our time. With great gratitude to Maha Avatar Babaji.
    During your practice, it is normal to feel like coughing, burping, vomiting, yawning, laughing, crying, vocalizing. Your body is releasing. Do not hold it in, let it all out.
    If after or during Kriya practice you feel lightheaded or ungrounded lay on the ground on your belly with your forehead touching the earth, or come into the yoga posture called child pose. After practice eat some food.
    The effects can last 24 hours. After a practice one may feel reborn or strong emotions are wanting to pass through and leave. Sleep may be sound or weird dreams etc.
    I'm Xiu Lei (pronounced C U Lay) born and raised in California. I am American of Chinese decent. In 2012 at the age of 49 I moved to Australia and began my yoga travels. I'm still nomadic mostly in Europe and south east Asia with teaching yoga at resorts and yoga retreat centers paving my way.
    Discovering Kriya Yoga in Bali in 2022, life was especially challenging. Kriya had a dynamic effect on my well being; I became lighter. Having never experienced anything so powerful I had to continue the Kriya journey.
    Since starting Kriya teacher training in Bali I had a deep seeded passion to become a teacher, specifically on the platform of RUclips. So yes, Kriya looks weird but If it can benefit me so greatly it could assists others. Please join me on this journey!
