    Do you know of a cooling fluid you an add to help extend blade life for these saws?

    Good stuff! I've been toying with picking up a handheld metal cutting saw. So this was helpful. Question: what thickness can you comfortably cut through? Are multiple passes acceptable for thicker?

      I think that style of saw is commonly rated to cut 1/4'' plate which is very conservative. I've cut some smaller pieces of 3/4'' and also some 6'' C-channel perpendicular to the "flange" of the channel which was like 2 inches wide. Never tried multiple passes. The best option is to just let the saw cool down more often if you're cutting thick stuff.
      You can cut thinner sheet too but it's hard on the blade so I keep a spare worn blade for that.
