For best blade life, you want the cut to be on a leading or trailing edge,
Not directly on the flat surface.

I watched all of the top rated reviews RUclips sent me on the Evolution saw. Yours is by far the very best, concise and illustrative video review. Your video is more than twice as illustrative as for the saw's individual features, as the others. Evolution should put your review on their site -- most everything I wanted to know. And then you brought out the railroad track. Nicely done. Very much considering a puchase.

  • @KnoxMachining

I always let the saw spin down before raising the blade, to reduce the risk of having one of the teeth yanked off. The end cut can get caught up and destroy teeth.

Thanks for the review. I don't think having the blade contact the entire face of the stock is exactly best practice, but even so, it still appears to have done a decent job of cutting. It looks like the back adjustment would allow the blade contact to be adjusted for a better cutting process. I was wondering if it moves back far enough to start the cut on the corner of your material, especially while mitre cutting, where it would not be possible to mount the stock in any orientation except flat?
