- British soldiers have been in the US on one of the world's biggest exercises this year.
Designed to test them to the limit, 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards have been training alongside the US military on Exercise Rattlesnake in Louisiana.
In the second of her special reports, Sian Grzeszczyk follows them as they test a lightweight all-terrain vehicle normally reserved for special forces.
Report by Sian Grzeszczyk (@SianGrz) and Hannah King (@FTVHan).

I've trained with the Brit's, back in the day. Always a good time with our cousins from across the pond.
Question: in these training exercises how do they decide who gets hit since they aren't using live rounds?

Ahh yes, one of the nine circles of hell in the US Military. Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Great to see our troops working with the US more and more.
do you think that the US Colonel regrets saying, on camera and for posterity, that "we stretch you to expose your holes"?
Not at all! In fact i am sure he practiced in the mirror a 100 times before hand
.....I think that the Colonel stretched the QDG just a tiny bit and quickly exposed all its holes.
Stretch em wide and insert the soldiers!
Probably not, you obviously do not know military humor.
Yes, probably lmao

Sinosphere is here to tackle you 🤡
Abhishek Kurup I have nothing against the people of that region but most of the countries in that area are weak or NATO allies. Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Vietnam. Not to mention the fact that the US is stepping up military activity in China-friendly nations. It would mainly be China VS the world.
Nobody wants to live under a closeted dictatorship like China, and should they be informed of it I imagine they'd be willing to fight. The Chinese soldiers only fight because they know no better than sub 10,000 annual income, drastic overpopulation and horrible air quality + the censorship online.
You could always claim that Russia will help China but there is no certainty with that. Russia and China have been bashing heads over the Central Asia nations like Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan as they're each fighting to have influence over their nations.
Not to mention in China's trade deals with Russia they often give the Russians poorly made clothes in exchange for high-value goods like natural resources.
I wouldn't be so sure of that.

It's like an X- rated version of Carry On Up the Kyber. BTW if the Americans like Benny Hill why aren't they going mad over the Carry On films? Maybe they are.

Trained here before deployment to Baghdad Iraq. SAS trainers were impeccable and above Army standard.
In 1974, I spent 4 months training in Fort Polk (2 months for basic training/2 months for A.I.T) before being assigned to the 25th Infantry Division.
I trained at Ft. Polk in 1969 getting ready for Nam. I was raise in the Blue Ridge Mountains and have hunted all my life so I was used to working outside, but Louisiana was a lot different than what I was used to. I like seeing the Brits working with US troops; we both need friends in case of another war and we work well together.
Do the US troops now get a crack at Sennybridge and the Brecons?
VW valley
On the Special Forces side, yes absolutely. We have exchange programs where a Delta Force operator will be assigned to the SAS, SBS with Navy Seals and vice versa. Both the UK and US are incredibly integrated and that’s awesome.
I served over a decade in the US Army and training at Fort Polk in Louisiana is by far the worst and evey other place is a vacation! People not from the Deep South (Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama) dont realize just how hot and humid it really is. Plus the insects and wildlife can easily kill u. Also the terrain is pretty tough.

What did you think about it? If you don't mind me asking.
So it was the early 90s . My company trained there. I loved it. It was great to have a large enemy force actually trying to win. I was the number 2 of a sniper pair. I remember coming across an enemy armoured vehicle and reporting it over the radio. A few minutes later an A10 flew over and “ destroyed it. “ . I was amazed to actually have real time air support . Hats off to the USA
Wish we did stuff like this when I was in

Hope y’all got to see the wild horses that roam in and around Vernon Parish and Beware of the rattlesnakes in and around Peason Ridge

To be honest they are a similar vehicle to the WMIK's most units with Recce or infantry used I used them in WMIK's in 2002 in Kabul then Jackals in Helmand in 2012
The ground crews are not about just getting it off the ground. They are about getting it as close to perfect as they can.
Which is what’s needed to get off the ground. What they’re about is doing it on time.
This exercise really helps you find your weaknesses as a battle/point element. Water consumption needs to be cut drastically. Given region and type of operations plays a major part. Small unit reconnaissance elements should maintain minimal food/water intake for a multitude of r reasons thanks for sharing you sexy mfers.

it is polish second name :) cool. Best regards from Poland. Good edit. Good exercise
I’m a lifelong resident of east Texas, looks like home to me.
I hated Ft. Polk. Never saw weather like that place has prior or post the exercise I was there for. 68 degrees on Sunday, 21 on Tuesday with freezing rain for 24 hrs, then it stayed around 35-45 degrees for 29 days, until we came out of the field, and it was 70 degrees. We were miserable the entire time.
When I saw the ATV drive in that terrain , I thought to myself it must have been hell tracking though the jungles if Vietnam where even vehicles are useless.
Wow !
Judging by the soundtrack of this video, those vehicles make a helluva lot of noise.

@@andrewhackney6286 I don't csre about that nonsense or historical footnotes - I'm coming from a standpoint of some things you should just keep to yourself - period. I wouldn't care if the UK did the same (and they should). Doesn't the UK get tired of its military being called "U.S. Military Lite"? Why does it consider itself a "global military"? Our Welsh boys have done the UK military proud in what looks like terrible terrain and one of the toughest military training exercises against the best army and military in the world, USA!
