Installed mine last weekend, super happy with it. Quieter at high RPMs when you want it to be, louder at lower RPMs when you want it to be, great to have the homelink integration too. Very tough install but managed it with the help of someone with tiny hands.
It’s a shame a valve controller wasn’t factory fitted by Lexus. By default the valves are open when the engine is off to allow residual exhaust gas to escape. Once the engine is turned on the valves close. A lot of LC owners just disconnect the plugs from the valves under the rear of the car which will leave the valves permanently open. Just remember to waterproof the plug connectors and tuck them out of the way.
Yes, I should have mentioned that in the install video. For anyone else curious about doing this, you can also follow my install walkthrough video until you disconnect the modules. A bit more work, but you don't have to mess with finding waterproofing caps for the connectors or securing the hanging wires. If you do go the under the car route, you can use these matching connectors to create perfectly fitting caps although it is probably overkill: Sumitomo 6189-0249 Sumitomo 6188-0138 or 6188-0266 Yazaki 7283-1133-10 Ballenger CONN-76030 *These only fit 2018 to 2021 cars* I'm not sure when exactly they transitioned so if you have a 2021, I would still check to make sure they look similar. Later models combined the 2 connectors per valve to a single one for a total of 2 down from 4. I also heard a rumor that LC engineers wanted the car to be unvalved and loud all the time, but executives made them compromise with the valved exhaust. Because of this, they intentionally made the valves open when the engine is off so you can easily disconnect them. Just purely disconnecting the valves will trigger a system fault but no CEL. It's just a code saying the system can't communicate with the valves It seems like most of the customers are aware of the disconnect mod but want the control as well as the ability to stop that fault code. I am in the same boat, which is why I made the controller in the first place!
what is the difference with throttle controller? i mean throttle controller can wide open so rpm can get faster beyond 4000 so it might be little different. just curious and i am not a car expert!!!😅
@@surrealtom1437 Hey again, don't know if you're still monitoring this, but i finally got the unit installed. Installation was dead easy and everything worked fine. Almost no difference in the sound at idle, but it really wakes up from 2000-4000rpm, i'd say its about 20-30% louder there and I love it. Above about 4000rpm its the same as before since thats when the valves open anyway. Definitely a happy customer!
From what I understand, only US cars are able to be updated to support it. Something about the hardware is different across different markets. My dealer charged me $199 to upgrade.

Could you make a tutorial on how you were able to keep the ambient lights fully on while driving??? 😭😭😭
Wait can this even be done?
It's not possible.
Thanks for making the videos. Looks like Seattle. We may see each other around.
It is! Hoping to make some more once the weather is more consistent

Will this module give me the option to make the car sound completely stock and have the car control the exhaust valves like normal?
Sounds good ❤
What does it mean to choose option close or open when purchasing the kit?
Please it says out of stock how can I buy this
Hey, is it safe to drive with open valves? Would it hurt the engine in the long run? Thanks I’m interested
Good question! It should be very safe. By keeping the valves open, you increase airflow which is never a bad thing
I never close mine!
this is not stock. I have an lc500 too and this is not the stock sound
In a stock setup, are the valves open or closed when in Sport or Sport+?
I’m pretty sure they’re closed in all driving modes until you get to a certain RPM, then they open up
I don't suppose you'd know if there's any issue if my LC500 is right hand drive?
There have been no reported issues!
@@itgoes5871 Thank you, I placed my order!
@@KevGoesRiding got it yet? How is it?
@@surrealtom1437 shipping is taking forever! It's been a month so far. Hasnt arrived yet, will post when i get it installed

How did u get apple car play. I don't have it on mine and dealer says it does not support it????

@@itgoes5871 Sad nobody cares about Europe as if we dont exist. We pay 50% more for the cars than US and still nobody cares about us.
I have a 2023 coupe < will this controller work on mine???
Yes, as of Feb 2023, all V8 models are compatible regardless of year or country
Do you make a connector for the 2022 model?
Yes! There have been 3 confirmed to be working on the 2022 convertible/coupe
I wanted know if this module would work on the 2022 IS 500?
Toyota/Lexus recycles a lot of parts for reliability reasons. I would guess it would be compatible, but I can't verify until I get my hands on one
No, the IS500 does not have a valved exhaust from my knowledge
So, Why would you ever want the valves closed?😆
Hi, any news on availability?
They are available at the link in the description - Please send a message if there are any issues
what camera u use?
Sony A7SII
Valves closed all the time. dont want to constantly hear it, its a luxury car too
