Talent wise? He’s a top 5 player of all time, but being one of the greatest players takes more than just talent. It’s mentality, leadership, the ability to push a team to the championship.
It’s convenient to crown someone after the progression of their game was built on the foundation of the forefathers of the game.
Athletes are athletes and given the opportunity to progress they would do just that.
We don’t have time machines though.
That being said context is important.

Not to mention, Curry revolutionized the NBA to make it more 3-point-centric and he's a household name worldwide. I live outside the US and most people I've met from other countries known who Stephen Curry is. In comparison, the only people who've heard of Durant either follow basketball or are from the US.

Legit question, how is he the best offensive player of all time? He got clamped last year and swept in the 1st round when Celtics got physical with him, so he's definitely not unstoppable. He doesn't have the most scoring titles all time or even close. He doesn't have the highest scoring average all time in either the regular season or playoffs, and it's not like he's thisclose to #1. He doesn't have anywhere near the highest average scoring playoff series all time or even a single series averaging 40. What playoff game has he gone absolutely bonkers in?
