@JinYi-oy4cq I used to have the issue and one day I connected my iPad to it and it started recognising my iPhone? Idk how it worked maybe try a different apple deivce if you have any.

FYI: iPhone doesn't connect to iTunes in iOS 17.x . Apple broke it. Whether they intended for this to happen - because Music is the currently-supported app - or will fix it in a subsequent update is the $64,000 question. What's more, the Apple software update to the USB/mobile device driver cannot be installed because it is not available on the server, per the error message that is displayed. So if the driver wasn't installed at an earlier point, one is out of luck because Apple no longer offers it (at least under macOS; our mileage may vary if connecting to iTunes and a modern iOS using a PC).
For me it was the USB cable and I wasn't thinking to try a new one, this really helped man I appreciate it.

Just bought the ipad air 4th gen, having this issue. My macbook is a mid 2010, it finds the ipad in photos, and also when i go into the USB drop down menu. It also charges the ipad, but it just wont show up in Itunes for me to sync 😩. I have just tried plugging it into my imac (2009) and it shows up no problem in itunes. Both systems are running on high sierra, and itunes is up to date on both macbook and imac. I have tried to follow steps of updating mobile device updater, but when i double click on the MDU image it doesnt open anything 🤷🏼♂️ frustrating this!! Please help
I don’t even have a lot of options on iTunes for some reason. In the help tab I don’t have that option showing up. And my library only shows podcasts and does have artists/albums etc. can someone help??

It says the iTunes update server cannot be contacted. Pls check your Internet connection and try again later. My Internet connection is fine. And iTunes doesn't detect my ipad. waste of time, I'm Uninstalled it now.

1:22 Fix 4 - Reset All Settings. this is dangerous DO NOT do it if you do not know what it does. Set up as new iphone, will also delete everything on your phone. please be carful I do not know why this video is recommending this without warning you about it.

I downloaded from Apple. When I follow your instructions I get an error message saying "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again." Following that path in File Explorer I discovered that there are no 'Drivers' in the Mobile Device Support folder. What drivers should be there?

Before doing any of this, try flipping your Lightning cable. My iPhone used to appear in iTunes, but today it wasn't. I always noticed that it was a bit flaky. Anyway, I flipped the Lightning cable, and boom, it appeared in iTunes. Give that a shot first. I've been watching many RUclips videos on this topic, and none of them made sense (updating SW, driver, resetting iPhone, etc).
This solved my connection problem. Thanks!

I appreciate the help but iTunes is just being weird to me and I got it off of Apple, not the Microsoft store . The one thing that looked like it was going to work was the reset all part. My device showed up in iTunes but didn't let me setup as new device, but it did want to update. So I tried that and then poof, within like 20 seconds my device vanished again, and then it said can't update because no device was found. So I kept resetting and resetting and every time my device would show up in iTunes but then just vanish moments later. So frustrating! iTunes recognizes my older iPhone X just fine, but doesn't recognize my new iPhone 12 Pro Max??? Argh!!
That's exactly what keeps happening with my new 13. It can find my old phone just fine, but with the 13 it's having problems. Could you tell me if you've fixed it?

@@peerrrrrrrr If I remember correctly, go into device management, select portable devices, uninstall device if it doesn't say Apple iPhone. Reboot computer. Then uninstall every Apple program from add or remove programs. Reboot again. Reinstall iTunes and then erase all content and settings on your iPhone, reboot iPhone, then plug into your computer and it should see it.

All this trouble we have to go trough, while if you use android, it'll be just a simple plug, and then it's connected to PC
