- Windows 10 Not Recognizing iPhone device. HD Tutorial On How To Fix Undetected Apple iDevice (iPhone/iPad/iPod) In iTunes On Windows 10. Steps to fix detection of Apple devices in iTunes to synchronize content from PC to iPhone / iPad / iPod . What worked for me was clicking on "Universal serial bus devices" and "Apple mobile device USB device" and right click "update driver" thanks for getting me here to help fix my iPhone problem.

you can also update in device manager then choose an iphone ... i solve it using portable devices when iphone was plugged in to computer (only that way you can find portable devices)

The difference from what i did an what's in your video is that i first tried 'repair' instead of uninstalling and reinstalling.

it worked !!!!! uninstalled ituens and then reinstalled went to device manager and found a tab that had a usb logo dropped it down to show iphone and right clicked it to show update driver

In Windows 10 when you plug in your iPod, in my case a Nano, Device Manager adds a folder calll "Portable Devices". This is where you will find the device so you can right click on it and attempt to update the driver.
This worked for me also. Probably the simplest method. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi! followed all steps....all drivers updated, restart.....still can not see it on devices and drives. It works only on iTunes on all usb connections
How can I make changes in services or device manager if the device is not recognized, it's not in any list.
You're missing your mobile drives people! Those who didnt have apple iphone devices show up under portable devices you need to check and update your windows with your iphone plugged in, mine was missing and that put it back. Also if you cant see your portable devices right click device manager and then choose show hidden devices.

After that, I went to the web to try and reinstall them. But I haven't found a download page for the apple mobile device support.
I've redownloaded iTunes (Microsoft store) but it doesn't show up in programs and features anymore.

What if after i search all i see is generic USB hub or something like these and nothing that says APPLE? and i tried to update generic usb hub, but it says the best driver is already installed. What's my problem??

3 year old video but it helped - ended up that the USB port for my iPad pro 2020 was showing an error - so I deleted it and it automatically reinstalled and detected.
A simple trick is that just go to control panel printers and devices right click on ur device e.g my device is iPad click properties go to hardware left click on what ever u seen on device functions and hit properties and click driver and hit update driver that’s it if this work I deserve an like ❤
Hey! I have a question. So when i plug in my ipod (it is an ipod classic) it says that it cant recognize the usb and it says the last thing plugged into my usb drive malfunctioned, but my usb drive works okay with everything else I plug in, and in the usb drives thing it shows an unknown sign saying that it couldnt be recognized instead of showing an apple drive, cant find anyone else that has the same problem, do any of you have it too?

Replace the battery in your iPod. That is the only thing that worked for me.
