With iTunes installed on Windows 10 it doesn't detect your iPhone/iPad/iPod. This video shows how to resolve the issue. It is a known issue with iTunes on Windows 10 and the solution is taken from Apple community forums.
*_NOTE: Close iTunes BEFORE doing this. He says that near the END of the video, which is not good when you're doing things along with him in the video._*
I totally missed that, but luckily it still worked even with iTunes open :)
Thanks Jai but I couldnt see the Apple in the common file. How to go about it
I was struggling few months of this issue bro, finally made it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE A GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Glad I could help!
PLEASE, I GET THE SAME MESSAGE FROM THE VIDEO AT MINUTE 1:30
HELP ME
Did you find the drivers at all?
yeah, but it says something like "its not cmpatible (just like in the vídeo) And I tried downgrading to 32 bits iTunes, but it doesnt allow me.
hmm... not sure why but I can have a look if you want me to. We can connect through Team viewer Quick Support. Let me know.
If you can’t find the apple folder, I found that uninstalling the driver, the USB one that has the yellow triangle, and then running troubleshooting, your issue may be fixed. It worked for me.
Had the iPhone 6 for a month. Probably spent 20 hours trying to sync it. Took 3 minutes with this video. Thanks!!
Glad it helped.
only fix that worked for me. you're heroic!
Cheers
It say windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. The system cannot find the path specified
Worked like a charm for me right after installing iTunes 12.7.2 and my iPod wouldn't show up in iTunes no matter how many times i restarted both devices and using different cables. Thanks!
thanks! beats the stupid apple website "instructions"!
yeah, shit on apple support web.
Right! I was all over the place with that. They suck!!
Seriously wtf is this. Some random guy on youtube does a better job than them fuckin thanks apple good job...
they arent instructions the only thing they instruct is how to make you consued af
1:32 If you get the "compatibility" error message, try canceling the driver update, right click on the apple device, and choose uninstall. Unplug your device and plug it back it. It should reinstall and now be found by iTunes, etc.
Work For Fucking just 1time
I don't have the Apple folder with Mobile Device Support-->Drivers, someone knows why?
hey, i also didnt have the Mobile Device Support folder. But after some struggle, i found in my Program Files an iPod folder which had drivers. Right-clicked the usbaapl64.inf > install. Then restarted the computer and itunes recognized my ipod again. hope it helps
I did a Google search of the driver, downloaded it, right clicked on it to install. Itunes still won't recognize my ipod.
@@spaceknight793 me toooooooooooooooooo
An answer would be good I have the same problem
I have also did the same thing. There is an Ipod folder in program files , get the driver from there. But take note that you have to restart the PC before it can work.

I HAVE A DEADLINE TO CATCH TOMORROW! You’re my saviour!
thanks mate - why is this shit so common and so complex to solve!
That's the 64 million dollar question
Thank you very much, it worked for me very easily.
I change my windows PC every 2 years and have never had this problem before. This is the only solution I’ve found that actually works. Thank you.
Thanks a lot, man! What is so hard about this that Apple itself can't teach people how to do it? *facepalm* You da real MVP!
HOLY FUCK. THIS WORKED! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Worked great!
Dude.. I was waiting on the phone to talk with someone at apple while watching your video and I did what you showed.. I hung up because it worked. You saved my life, thanks!
You sound Indian and Irish at the same time.
Thank You Mr. Bourne haha. I am Indian and live in Scotland :)
AskJaiCom Ohhh. Yeah I always forget that Scottish accent is similar to Irish.
Good Guess!
Dammit, I owe you a beer now. xD
YOU'RE A LEGEND!!
Just wanted to say thank you so much. You'd think a fresh reinstall of itunes would have fixed the issue, but nope! I bet it was another windows 10 update screwing things up with drivers. Apple should really take note of this and have a built-in fix method in the next itunes release.
Thanks again so much
omg it worked, unbelievable.. I wish i could buy you rounds and rounds of beer. thanks bro
Yeah, you can do that here askjai.com/paypal haha... :)
+AskJaiCom stfu
Lol!
Thank You. I really hate iTunes.

Programfiles-> common files-> no Apple folder is found .. why what was the issue ? Could you please help me out to resolve this issue ?
Searched a few websites and tried numerous alternative fixes before finding this video. Sorted the issue first time. Thank you!
I can't find driver folder ... any solution ?
I have done the same process but when I found the driver and click on OK button the following Pop Up msg occur " the folder you specified does not contain a compatible software driver for your device. if the folder contains a driver make sure it is designed to work with a windows for X-64 based system" pls help me in this
Ahhh! Thanks so much! This worked for me over a year later from your post when my iPhone 7 Plus had the same problem.
Lucky I listened through the whole thing before starting as you put the first step at the very end - "Be sure to close iTunes before you start." Thanks again - I was getting so frustrated when my computer continued to ignore my phone.
HELP!!! i got a message that said ... the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. if the folder contains a driver make sure it's designed to work with windows x64 based systems. now what?
Thank you, after weeks of searching for answers, this one is the only one that worked
I have installed Windows 10 home edition and i have the same problem, try this fix i get the message of 1:30, i read the comments and i found that others face the same problem. Have you solve it?
12.0.4 doesn't work with your method it Windows gives a message" The folder doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. Fi the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems. I checked the x86 folder and there is no drivers in that folder. Any other suggestions.
I don't know why, but I had very little confidence this would work. Usually google results in youtube videos are for issues I'm not specifically dealing with. This video helped tremendously! Worked like a charm. Thank you so much!
you are amazing!! i spent 1 hr trying all the ports, different cables, turning off and all both devices, searching google.. everything. BUT NOW I FOUND THE SOLUTION CAUSE OF YOU. THANK YOU!!! TIME TO SLEEP ITS 2 AM.
Only wasted an hour on other sites including Apple before finding this. Thank you so much. Blood pressure dropping rapidly :)
Thank you VERY much. Apple support was of no help whatsoever, but you solution worked perfectly. I updated the drivers and iTunes now recognizes my devices.
Yes, my man. This worked in 2017 with iPhone 7. Thanks for your help. PS: when you get to the drivers folder, you can't open it, but it will still work.
FINALY THANKS !! the only solution after trying all other answers on the internet.

PERFECT! This worked like a charm. Lost my driver after doing the recent updates to Itunes and iPhone 6s Plus. Tore my hair out all day until I saw this!!! Well done!!!
What if the drivers option does not show up?
No drivers shown when i click on the iPhone under the USB folder (not in portable devices?)
I got the same error message as you got in this video, any solution?
hi, @askjai I do not have mobile Device support folder ,please advice
so what could I do if it showed that "doesn't contain a compatible device" line from your video?
In the mobile device support menu I don't have the "drivers" option. Any ideas?
