Why Jailbreak Is Dying

- Jailbreaking an iPhone once felt like a rite of passage for tech enthusiasts. At its core, jailbreaking is the process of removing software restrictions imposed by Apple on iOS, iPhone’s operating system. This allowed users to install unauthorized apps, customize the interface, and access features not available through the official App Store. However, what once was a bustling subculture within the tech community has seen a noticeable decline. So let’s find out why.
This video feels like it's just a 2 minute script on loop
LITERALLY
And the music is on loop. It's the same in all of his videos.
@@TimGmbH1 and its getting really really annoying
Don’t watch it then. 😐
@@Paradoxical124 Criticism leads to improvement. You’re a fool.
do yall think this script is an elaborate experiment to see how long they can loop the same script over and over again and see how long people can watch it
Hello horizon, yes I did notice a few repeating lines
honestly i wouldn’t be surprised, although as a jailbreak enthusiast i did watch the whole thing lmao 💀
Since I see you everywhere I'd like to ask what your hardest demon in geometry dash is. Pretty please🥺
HOW IS THE HORIZON HERE
nah I think it was just AI generated
it has all the characteristics of someone going to ChatGPT and saying "hey give me an 5 page script about this topic with very little information on it."
I get the feeling this video repeats it self over and over agian
Yeah I thought I was in a time loop and then I looked at the time and it was 11 Minutes
because all apple explained does is repeat the same crappy script for 10x and its annoying. unsubbed a while ago idk why he is still relevant
Absolutely correct
@@epzo lol then why are you here

Sounds like it.
I wouldn't be suprised

Plus jailbreak exploits have gotten harder and harder to find as iOS grows more and more secure.
@@zachsteiner true. Also Apple snatched prominent jb devs so there’s even less to develop exploits
Omg this feels written by AI. You said the same thing multiple times...

I was literally just about to say that. Also he said "r jailbreak" instead of "r/jailbreak" which makes me think it's ai.

This method is flawed. Google how a professor tried to judge if ChatGPT wrote student papers and he incorrectly accused a student of plagiarism when she didn’t plagiarise anything, provably so.
@@jaygatsby3039 If I remember correctly, that's because the professor just put it into ChatGPT itself instead of a proper AI detector.
Reasons to jailbreak other than piracy:
1. Emulators with JIT support
2. Have access to App data and clear them
3. Full storage cleanup
4. Better icon theming
5. Dark mode websites
6. Bring back iOS 6 lock screen
and more…
Don’t forget legacy app preservation
Remove the ugly white/black line at the bottom
Side loading! No need to shove it down everyone else’s throats.
7: Older versions of games without ads
Maybe if you still use an iPod. I’m not risking it with all my bank accounts and personal info.
this script needed a little more editing
yeah it just kept dragging on
Yeah I agree

This is written by Ai. I checked with turnitin😂😂. No wonder why the guy was repeating the same thing over and over again
holy shit, seriously? god, i used to love this channel, what the hell happened?

My first ever jailbreak was on an iPhone 4 running iOS version 7.1.2 and it just blew my mind how jailbreaking really made your device the way you want. Nowadays, I don’t really do jailbreaks anymore, but it’s still great to see that developers wanted to do what Apple didn’t allow them to do.

No reason to jailbreak 🤣
Hacked apps are the reason😂 🙏
Shoe size IQ comment
People think that jailbreaking is about customization, but I believe that piracy is the main reason for it. You can get free in-app purchases and download custom/tweaked IPAs, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As long as ‘pirates’ exist, jailbreaking won’t die.
Hmm I’d guess less pirates Jb nowadays that apps run a free to download + server side subscription model.
I could be wrong tho
@@MataNataM server-sided apps can get hacked too
@@ayanami9504how so?
@@MataNataM You simply need to find the values that are not server-sided. I remember some games that had protected coins/gems but not attributes like ammunition (for shooter games), attack damage (for fighting games), perfect scores (for rhythm music games), or, one of the last ones I tested, had a procedure where you had to download an old version of the app where the currencies were not yet protected, hack them, sync the save with the account, update the app, and log in with the account. This means that there are many ways to hack a game or an app without directly touching the protected values. Another random example is the hack for PicsArt Gold, a server-sided subscription.
Even Genshin Impact or Among Us (to name a few currently popular and well-protected games) have some crazy hacks that have nothing to do with currencies.
13:33 when he said pronounced r/jailbreak as "R jailbreak" I was convinced AI was used

The video is made by Apple fan, so don't take it seriously. just use iphones with jailbreak

Most likely It is
The only reason people are not Jailbreaking IOS is because Apple made it Harder to do so. Most people who wanted to Customize there Phone. Just Bought Android instead. Since a more open Operating System.
obviously an account fanboying over apple will also have the bare minimum effort for the most proffit.
As soon as we got battery percentage display, I had no reason to jailbreak anymore.
So basically, Apple introduced new "security" patches that block you from doing what you want with your phone. That's literally all that happened. This video is long for no reason.
Probably I figured out pattern of the channel's author, when he produce 2-3 minutes long videos there is no space for repeats, but if video last more than 3 minutes he just can't hold himself to give a lot of resumes in end (=repeats)

As a jailbreaker for many years, the reason is that permanent jailbreaks just went away as ios security got tighter. I would still like to have full access to filesystem, and be able to install apps not available in app store. Those needs never went away. Jailbreak is dying because jailbreaks became harder to do. And this AI generated AI voiced circle jerk made me unsub.

I used to jailbreak till iOS6. Then i jailbroke iOS8 iPhone6. I felt like it was not needed anymore by that time and i removed JB.
I used to jailbreak all the time... but the reasons for jailbreaking began to vanish.. for example the control center pretty much eliminated the need for SBSettings...
another key reason was that fewer jailbraks were persistent across reboots.. and that was a major pain to deal with

Jailbreaking in the early 2010s was a lot of fun ngl. Barrel and winterboard were definitely fun cydia apps, but jailbreaking would typically slow down your phone.
Oh, I remember the early days of "jailbreak".
What was so sad for Apple users is that many of the most popular jailbreak apps were STOCK on Android phones.
I remember Apple getting into an arms race against the jailbreakers with these OTA hot patches to lock the kernel back down.
I got so fed up with the back and forth that I just switched to Android and got all of the jailbreak app features off the Google Store as stock supported apps.

I jailbroke my iPhone 3G in 2009, allowing for more custom wallpapers and app icons. Cydia could do so much more. But it was a risk as it would void the iPhone’s warranty.
i feel like this video could've been way shorter. short but informative videos are what this channel's entire identity is. wtf man 😭
Because iOS nowadays has a lot features and customization. Remember the day when iPhone doesn't have file manager and hard to manage files and downloading, that's jailbreak use for.
dying because it’s getting insanely hard to pull off & the tweaks have gotten old to us and apple is considerably adding them officially anyways 😂 plus apple was paying those guys to let them know about exploits they found so the whole community went that route
Thats why there is android.

A walk down nostalgia lane. The only two things i miss from jailbreaking was themes and "RealCC" where you could actually turn off wifi bluetooth etc in control center instead of "disabling" it. Still drives me nuts
Disappointed by the switch to AI for the scriptwriting. I don’t mind shorter videos, just because they might seem less in-depth doesn’t mean they have to be. Don’t feel the need to use AI to stretch the video’s runtime

Jailbreaking and "side loading" should be allowed on phones and tablets. You can do that on Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.
You have brought back memories from 15 years ago. Thank you very much. I've gotten to Android Rooting after it but then Google was eager to integrate popular tools users would root their phones for and so it became less important to root phones... It was design back when I was a child on the iPhones, for later Android phones it was being able to actually backup complete phones and nowadays strict adblocking would be the only reason I'd root or jailbreak any phone. Nowadays the reasons I'd jailbreak my phone like in my child days are integrated. Like the automation things from back then are fully integrated now. Things like disabling mobile data when the RUclips app is open or enabling and disabling wifi based on geofencing. All this were jailbreak things back then.
