Just finished viewing parts 1-5 of this series. Thank you Don for putting it together. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Teri is amazing.
In the 80’s I fell in love with her beauty. In the 90’s, it was her wit. And in the later years on Dave’s show, it was her strength.
They’ll never be another Dave, especially when he was on NBC. They’ll never be another Teri Garr. I miss them both.
    Thanks again!

Don, I just finished binge watching all five collections of Teri Garr. When she came out for her last appearance on the Late Show and Dave had to help her walk, I teared up. It was a bittersweet moment to end her appearances on his show. Because I watched all of the appearances within a day or two, the magnitude really hit me hard of the change from a young, vibrant Teri to a Teri that needed help to get to the guest chair. Life catches up with all of us eventually.

Easy to appear on Letterman when young & beautiful, but took a ton of courage after 1990s. This is one strong lady. Shades of her mother's strength after losing Teri's dad.

I'm from the UK & so, never knew about Teri & her interactions with dave. I've binge watched them all in 2 days & she was a brilliant, feisty, entertaining stand-up-for-yourself type of woman. It made for brilliant viewing as dave couldn't control her.
The MS progression is awful to watch & terrible for her to endure. My uncle had it, so i know the journey all too well. I'm watching this in 2021 & recent footage of Teri shows MS has brought on terrible depression for her & taken the fun & life out of her. A stunningly beautiful woman with the joie-de-vie snatched from her. Life is so unfair!

Dave's show went on for 7 more years after the 2008 episode with Terri. I wish he had brought her back once a year until his show ended. She is so at ease with him and I think it would've done her good to have that be a yearly event. But with MS, I'm guessing the 2008 appearance might've been towards the end of her being able to communicate in such a relativity easy manner. So she may have very well been invited by Dave, but had to pass based on the disease's progression. Either way, I'm happy to see that she had a great time with him.

In mocking his show's producer, Robert Morton, Dave says, "You're no Mike Todd," to which Teri adds, "Or Spyros Skouras." She's quick.

Out of all of the hours I have spent watching LNWDL, I remember Paul Schaffer taking Dave Pirner's trumpet away from him when he played the chorus of "Silly Little Love Songs" during part of them performing one their hits and David Letterman shaking Terri Garr's chair to watch her bare (crossed) leg jiggle. Nice to know that the affection was somewhat genuine.

Thank you, Don! Thanks to you, finally I was able to watch every episodes between Dave and Teri.....Especially, her final episode got me choked up. 25 years between those two....Hmmm. I appreciate the time and efforts you've made to put together....Can I expect the same kind of collection of Cher, Madonna, Bill Murray, Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Robin Williams, etc in near future?

I recall more than once Teri coming out on The Tonight Show with a cast on her leg and crutches. I think maybe it was to disguise her MS symptoms. I truly hope she's doing well. The amount of laughs she's given me over the years in movie and on TV is incalculable.

It started WAY before that. Re-watch the previous part from 1990 to 1992. You can first see her having some trouble walking to the chair in her April 23, 1991 appearance. That's when her MS started to become really noticeable. She even needed Dave to help her to her chair. I have a feeling he knew what was wrong with her, but as a friend, he kept it private until she made the public announcement in 2002.
