Coincidentally I’ve been on a brand new KJ binge so thanks. Excellent quality. It’s still hard to get to grips with how Jaz became so guttural vocal wise in their later career. I’m fine with it being a metal fan, but it’s almost as if it’s two separate bands - incredible transition whilst keeping their artistic integrity. No other band makes me think like KJ - read a Kerrang! Interview with Jaz from 2010, and it had me researching topics like the occult, Crowley, Gnosticism, all manner of fascinating topics. What other artist can do that, I’m unsure. This band is the real deal, and still one of the most dangerous bands around. Same band members for 40 years - a couple of drummers passed through, as did Paul Raven (both Youth and him are in my opinion doubly as integral) but today all the founding members are out there still killing it.
These guys are RAWK lifers. Not every period or album is great, but it's always interesting and HEAVY. The subject matter of their lyrics are worth expressing, no trying to put onomatopoeia noise up top. It's only proper as rockers that they're working class mystics, conjuring angels and demons equally. One of the few bands that I can say that I admire, even if they're a bit of a mess. They're flawed diamonds.
Superb, Jaz no doubt a nice guy but one scary bastard on stage😀Without the best start to the weekend, if not mistaken Friday eve viewing. Cheers Travis B.🍻
I did think about trying to do something with the audio as it's not the best but no Stereo/HiFi track in 1985 and my skills are not good enough to do something myself
The unique sound of KJ comes from Geordie's Gibson. Never seen a guitarist as one with their instrument, apart from maybe Justin Jones or Robert Smith. And yeah, Raven RIP.

Brilliant performance, this. I think I was genuinely scared by KJ at the time !
It’s Jaz’s eyes and his brows. Very Charles Manson-ish.
RIP Raven on Bass.
Saw them at Elephant Fayre that year, pouring rain, minimal lights, brilliant gig.

Easily my favorite KJ era!
Ishtar Time is by far my favorite KJ album. So amazing. Nice video.

Great footage. But there is a version of this performance out there with much better audio. The two should be merged somehow.

Right on, good comparisons...great groundbreaking guitarists, the 3 of them.
