I am a newbie Ricoma owner. I have been embroidering handkerchiefs and kept having numerous thread breaks. I was at my wits-end and wanted to give up. I had never done an I test before, so I kept procrastinating it. My husband pulled up this video. It helped us figure out how to do an I test,. We went through all of your suggested steps and my machine is back to sewing well. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!!
Thank you Romero...we did our first digitising 'I' test and tension check with our CHT1502...It felt good to not be scared of or machine and your direction gave us a sense of courage to pursue with attempting...Thanks heaps Romero.
Thanks for this video. I bought the dual head and my rep never did the I test. My machine has been giving me the blues. I have a large job coming and decided to face my fears and do the I test. The back side of mine is completely closed. I do not see any white at all. What do I need to do? You didn't explain what we should be looking for. I caught 30% so I am assuming a third of the I should be white on the bobbin side. It is not. Help!
Thank you sooo much for these! Could you make a guide on stabilisers? Cause I kind of know what to use, but i'm stiull having problems with my Tshirts stretching more even with 80gr cutaway :/
Hi Romero, I want to perform the I TEST but this will be for a cap. What material should I use to perform the test? Should I use backing? If so which one? Thank you in advance?👋
So helpful video! I am trying my machine according to your info. one question, is this test need to be on the fabric I want to use? different fabric may have different situation. thanks!
Hi thanks for this tutorial. I'm currently having a problem where I've already set the tension to the highest (9) and the bobbin side is extremely thin. Anything lower than 9, I can't even see the bobbin side at all. Would you be able to tell me what the problem is? Thanks
It depends, if its tiny bobbin on all threads then left turn (loosen) on the bobbin tension. But if your issue is on 1 needle then adjust your top tension, right turn (tighten) on the top tension.
So if you move the very top tension you should.move the bottom as well...everytime? Is there ever a time where.you would not move both at the same time?...and I have the MT 2001...so this would work for my machine as well?
Question: What would cause my I TEST results to show more thread on the left side than the right? It looks like all of my needles have more top thread showing on the left side, whereas it almost 50/50. I am going to try a few more adjustments. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello, thank you for the message. As far as the bobbin being one side heavy, that might be a bobbin housing issue. I would clean out the housing also make sure there isn't any lint in the bobbin holder. Thats happened to me before, but the problem just went away.
I never downloaded a test file from Ricoma. But if I had to guess, download the dst file and transfer it to a usb and load it to your machine. Usually these type of files can be found in your portal or the files section on the facebook group.

Thanks and yes, excellent topic to talk about.
does the tension adjustments the same for all embroidery machines ? I have a Ricoma tc 1501 7s and I’m having lots of thread breaks

I’m trying to figure that out too ,

Ideally, yes, you want to use the same fabric. Sometimes its not always possible, but as long as its something similar you should be good.
Will you please start making more Wilcom tutorials?
Sure will. Thats a big focus on the upcoming videos. Thanks.
@@RomeroThreads you are very much appreciated! Thank you so much for all you do for us! 😁

Can you send me the I test file for embroidery machine
Thanks!
Thanks, this helped!
So i just did an i test. my center bobbin thread is very tiny. So do I turn to the right on both top and bottom tension knobs?
It depends, if its tiny bobbin on all threads then left turn (loosen) on the bobbin tension. But if your issue is on 1 needle then adjust your top tension, right turn (tighten) on the top tension.

Its not necessary to move both, I just like to have both tensions somewhat similar. This will work w/ your machine, it should read a dst file.
Thank you Romero !

If my bobin isnt showing at all do I tighten or loosen the top tension knobs
It depends, if its only on 1 needle then tighten the top tension. If its all needles, loosen up the bobbin.
Hi can you upload the .emb files as lower version please? say wilcom e4?
Good video thanks
Thank you!
Hey bro, how do I download the tension test from “Myricoma” to my MacBook?
I never downloaded a test file from Ricoma. But if I had to guess, download the dst file and transfer it to a usb and load it to your machine. Usually these type of files can be found in your portal or the files section on the facebook group.
Good morning, I downloaded the I test however I didn’t see the one for a 20 needle.
I’ll have to add on for the 20 needles, for now, you can copy and paste extra I’s. I’ll update it soon, thanks for the heads up
Thanks!
Welcome!
