- Unboxing and giving my honest thoughts on my MacBook after having it for a few days now. This is one the best laptops I have ever used in my life. Purchased a M1 Pro 16 inch MacBook Pro in 2023.
My primary windows machine is my Asus Zephyrus G15
One thing I havent mentioned is just how good the internal DAC is on these pro machines. I dont need to use my ES100 DAC anymore, can just plug in my IEM directly and it sounds SO GOOD! Better than the ES100 sound, cleaner and wider soundstage!
Have you used *Rectangle* yet for window snapping?

I got one brand new yesterday from Best Buy for 700 off retail 16 inch Silver base model. I was going to get M2 but seeing the huge discount it was a no brainer. hope you enjoy it.
I also have the base model 16 inch. No lie, this is the best laptop I have ever bought!
The m1 macs direction change by apple finally got me to try them out. I couldn't be happier. If they just expand the m1 gaming support on even Rosetta I would be totally satisfied. The mac operating system is so superior to windows its not even funny.
I absolutely love my m1 mac, also was interested in getting one since they made the switch to m1. I just wish macs could game too even tho I know the mac target audience doesn't game, but it would be the perfect machine for me haha. If macs could game like PCs I legit wouldn't need my windows machine anymore
@@thekaydubz dude I know, if they could game it would literally be the perfect machine for me also. have you tried the games that are made for m1? like resident evil village, it runs so amazing. I can only imagine the potential if they just made the effort for gaming.
My steam library doesn't have much games that run well on mac unfortunately. Haven't heard of resident evil village, I'll check it out. Currently my zephyrus g15's only purpose is to play games haha

Welcome! I still love my 16 M1 Pro. It is so superior to any Windows laptop. Best screen, speakers, build quality, performance per watt, battery life, trackpad, mics, etc. and of course MacOS.

Yo dude , i have been thinking of getting the M2 Pro 16 , but it's like 2 exp, so im thinking of the doing the same thing you did .Well is 512 gigs enough for your video editing and stuff standalone ? Or should i like get the 1 tTB version of the M1 Pro 16 ? Lemme know man .
The 512 is working just fine for my video editing so far. I'm still new to final cut so after editing my first video it took up almost 150gb of space which i thought was insane. It was because final cut had the pre-render option turned on and also was making copies of all my clips so it took up over 100gb. I since deleted the duplicates and cache files and now it's fine. I think if you aren't planning to store a bunch of files on the Mac and use it for video editing it should be good enough. I delete all my files and the rendered video after uploading to RUclips
I bought mine at 1555 brand new last week and i'm in love with that laptop.

Best computer investment I've made. I recently got the otherwise solid 2023 XPS 9530 (FHD+, i9 + RTX 4070), which confirmed this. My 16" M1 Pro cost the same in 2021, but I get so much more out of it: better speakers, battery life, and screen. It'll keep me happy for a few more years, I'm sure.
Will (16gb/1tb) M1 pro MBP 16" be a good choice for after effects ?
yeah 0% of performances with an M1 or M2 machine on battery , thsi wasn"t the case on intel or IBM chipset... it's crazy...
You should hide the dock so the windows can take up the whole screen. The dock will only show when you move your mouse to the bottom of the screen.

or move it to the left/right side which I did. Takes much less space.
hi, regarding window snapping: press option + left or right while you are on a window and it will auto snap it left or right side of the screen.

O like when opening the lid? Mainly did it cuz the mac slides on my desk when I try to open it lol

Than after a year your screen will break because of heat 😂😂 mine did. Worst apple design ever.
Well I've had it for over a year and still basically like new. Interesting how yours died from heat though, mine has been very efficient with heat management
@@thekaydubz Hardware were OK but in my country normal temperature is 42C as heat directly flows into the display it started to crack and after few moments crack spread. I didn't fix it m1 pro 16 inch 16/512 just using it with external display. Too expensive. I'll buy new one if they change the design.
