I love this channel. You guys give so much detailed information about the video... alot of the other police channels lack this.
Thank you.
I feel so badly for the kid!
Thank you VLP
@@laughnowcrylater3203 You need a minimum of informations and context to understand and build an opinion. Watching only the body cam footage it's police porn and I don't want to do that. At some point I decided quality over quantity. It's more work, more research, more editing, more time but it worth doing it so people understand better those shootings. At first I though I was doing all of this for nothing. Than I started to have your feedbacks that are awesome by the way and really motivating. Thank you all!
@@VideoLeakPolice And thanks to you, we see it all, more than what the media puts out. if there’s ever a officer involved shooting that gets put out on the media, i come here. to get the full context
VLP, ty for your quality up loads. At 4:46am, Burbank, a stepdad out of Vegas and a 7 year old male child. There's more to this OIS that is yet to be unraveled, says a lot about the mother and immediate biological family.
Poor kid. I can't even imagine the shit this kid has had to go through in his young life. I hope he finds a family that will actually take care of him.
@Ed We'll see him at an Antifa protest in Seattle soon.
unfortunately, this kid will most likely follow in his dads foot steps. this incident has scared this childs mind and he will most likely never trust police officers because of this. i hope the system does not fumble the ball and can guide this kid on a better path then the one he came from.
Really just depends on where he ends up. If he finds his way to a decent foster family, grandparents, someone that cares.. Who knows.
I'm sure when he gets older he will see the video and see his 'dads' record and realize what a scumbag he was and how he put the kid in danger all the time.
Can't give up on the kid though, kids from shitty families can still end up as good citizens. My husband and I are both proof of it. Poor kid
I honestly want to adopt that kid.
Lets just take a moment to appreciate how clear and HD the hotel's cameras are.
You know, you're right, that quality should be the minimum.
Yep Bell &Howells best models for 1965. Lucky for the viewers that the hotel staff remembered to wind them up.
I have these same cameras at my home, they’re very affordable.. We always see such low quality CCTV footage from businesses who have MUCH more reason to get HD cams than I do. It’s crazy because you can get a full HD CCTV system for under $400-500.
I was thinking the same thing!
Stop it, you
All kids deserve parents but not all parents deserve kids
you have to have a license for just about everything, but any SOB can have a child
Nobody should be having offspring anymore. This planet has an overload of humans and is being destroyed by us. Have sex, not kids.
Boy is that a true statement
Being a father of two boys around the same age of this kid, this absolutely broke my heart. Seeing the kid walk around with one shoe after a car accident and then hearing him scream like that was heartbreaking. The child is the ONLY victim in this scenario.
EXACTLY!!
Wrong! The poor kid is most certainly the biggest victim. But imagine the officer having to live with killing a small child's father in front of him, for the rest of his life. Knowing that what he did was just. But also knowing the child most likely will never see it that way. A depression that he will inevitably bring home to his family day after day for ever.
@@MattyS7777 Are you fucking kidding me? You’re worried about the officer being affected by killing the kids stepfather? Never mind the fact that the little kid has to live the rest of his life with seen his stepfather being shot in front of him. I think the psychological trauma on the kid majorly outweighs the psychological trauma of the fucking police officer. What an asinine comment you just made.
Amen. God bless his poor little soul
@@MattyS7777 nah the cop shot a pce of shit scum that wanted to die or he wouldnt point a gun at cops
Kid, if you read this. You didn't deserve to be treated like that by your Father. Make something of yourself, stay in school. Be a good parent to a child some day.
He's going to need a lot of guidance and therapy to get past this. God bless that kid I hope he can find his own happiness.
@@YungNoDussy yes he is...and unfortunately he may grow up hating cops; not understanding his “father” put him in a horrible situation. And forced the officers to do what they had to do.
To be better than his father, he should not have children.
U mean biological or step father
I'm just glad this kid didn't lose his biological father
kid was being raised to believe that crime was normal or something, what a shame hopefully he's young enough to not be permanently broken by this upbringing and this experience
You see how naturally he said "ohh he's just going around the corner to get a car" ... he was already being molded into a seasoned car theft.
Well really look at how he was being taken care of...one shoe, bare foot, in March at 4 in the morning in the cold with a t-shirt and shorts. I mean just by the casual sounds of how the child was talking, this didn't appear to be his first rodeo. No mother? This person was the kids step father? Where's the biological father? Bloody hell! Hopefully, he'll be able to get some real help, and know what it feels like to actually be cared for.
I don't think people appreciate how much this is an actual thing. Criminal behavior becomes normalized, and then 'normal' people are made out to be the 'real' bad guys and disrespected. You can spot it easily by how badly a young person respects the elderly - a lot of the time they seem to think the elderly all won the lottery or something, living large, and deserve to be taken advantage of etc.
@@laughnowcrylater3203 He said go get a car, he didn't say I'm going to steal a car, so how does the kid know he's going to steal a car?
@@laughnowcrylater3203 Stop trying to make out, that a child thinks like an adult.
The loyalty of a young child deserves so much more than this.
The real crime here is he parked in the handicapped parking.
Heartbreaking that this kid had to go through this. But his father is 100% responsible. Bringing your child on your felon spree? That's a scumbag move.
He’s gonna more aggressive when he grow up
This child is marred for life. I hope he ended up in a good home.
Kid will get a huge payout from the city. Harsh as it may seem, this might have been the best thing for him. Still really shitty he had to lose his dad for it to happen though.
@@utbdoug ugh, no he won't, nor should he.
I would have loved to see them get the kid away from the car faster.. :(
Seems like the stepdad barely cared for the kid and he still called him dad and loved him wholeheartedly ....Hopefully his future is brighter.
A human offspring is programmed by nature to feel such dependance on caretaker, regardless how well or bad the kid is treated. That kid had no choice but to feel such feelings towards a human being who was utterly worthless person, one who should have been euthanized long time ago already.
The father's actions definitely put his son at risk, but I don't think it's fair to say he didn't love him. Yes, I know he was the stepdad, but the boy considered him his father. A shitty caregiver, but a father figure nevertheless. The officer didn't have a choice but to shoot when that gun was pulled on him, but nothing is ever going to make this boy forget his father being killed right in front of him.
Out of respect for a 7 year old boy, let's not try to make him hate the flawed man he called "dad".
Broke my heart.
A chained dog still loves the owner who beats him because that's the only.owner he knows.
Can’t be any worse
Hearing that little kid scream stop that’s my dad broke my heart 💔
Never ceases to amaze me how often mothers and fathers knowingly allow their children to be watched by people like this.
The boy was only wearing one shoe during the ordeal. Not being looked after by his step Father. What a horrible event for the child to witness.
I was thinking along the same lines. What happened to his shoe. You would have thought that the stepfather would have made sure he had both shoes and socks. Of course the kid could have a problem with that foot. But I doubt it.
Bullets literally inches away from the poor little kid. He is going to need therapy and counselling.
Yeah it breaks my heart, this boy will never live a normal life. Demons will haunt in his mind ! He will question everything
@@jasonburke9575 thats b.s, many others have experienced situations like these and as they grew older and looked at it from a different perspective how bad of an upbringing they were having, kid had one shoe, outside in the cold at like 4am? Get real.
@@codybarton3817 listen there mr dramatic... You have no idea what kind of effects things like this can leave. You don't know who your talking to or what I've been through and people I've met that have also seen and lived moments like this.

@Jacob King Not everything ends up in doom and gloom.
He still has to live in the US, he's done.
Not if his mom is till in the picture. That is the step dad.
@@lostsoul3353 his mother is the brain. his father carries it out
I cannot imagine what that “father” was thinking as he pulled a gun on police right in front of his son. There is telling what kind of hell this little boy had been subjected to all his life. And watching him in the videos walking with only one shoe literally broke my heart. The other shoe most likely came off during the traffic accident yet all the dad was concerned about was stealing another car. My heart goes out to this little boy. And although he must be heart broken after losing him daddy I’m glad the POS dad is no longer able to subject this boy to a life of misery, pain and most likely abuse.
That poor kid, doesn't even realize what's going on and how awful his step-father is. I hope with all of my heart that kid is in a far better home
Actually, he was home with ME, HIS MOTHER the very same night. You and everyone else on here have absolutely no idea wtf you’re talking about. This video is so edited it isn’t funny. That’s why Burbank is trying to settle with me OUT OF COURT. Yes, that’s right, I sued. He wasn’t armed. Watch the video for yourself without letting that pompous ass hat tell you what you see and see for yourself.
@heatherkahler2481 no matter what, I've seen the video by itself, and the step-father is still a POS, so I don't know what you're thinking I'm talking about but it's pretty obvious that that dude is a piece of garbage
This shit ripped me up waaay before the shooting when I saw that poor child walking around with 1 FUCKING SHOE ON!!!!
The love, heartbreak, and loyalty that kid has/had hit deep. Makes me think about all the other children in this world that live similar lives.
Gutted.
Fuck man dead on, hurting to talk to my daughter after just seeing that
Exactly. Being a stepfather increases the chances of him not caring as much. That while the kid calls him dad because who knows what kind of mom he had having relationships with imbeciles like this guy. Hopefully the kid goes to a decent, caring non-druggie family member.
F'd up cold world
Life ain’t fair man just how it’s fucked up world fucked up people
Right?!
A child puts so much faith and love in the magical words Mom and Dad.
Even when it is not deserved.
This is true. Mom and Dad are the names of God in the eyes of children.
*Edward Price* It's only logical...
Especially for father and son. That bond is tight as evidenced even by the sons behavior despite blatant neglect. Same is true for mother/sons in their own way.
I personally think this PIO lied - unknowingly per his programming, when he said “the child was not harmed.” Dude, that kid is more than old enough and well spoken, that’ll without question psychologically scar the rest of his life. I see no clear path on this one. The behavior of the suspect would be wrong to continue but to shoot and kill over it, eh, something untouchable yet very foundational is wrong with this picture. Time to grow up past this sort of behavior on all ends. At least the cops were protecting private property this time and not shilling for big corporation’s insured property. I am pro-police, btw, so don’t get me wrong.
The part that gets me is this: phrase it as a hypothetical situation: a man is stealing (someone else’s) cars you swore to protect and in the process the man is clearly involving and neglecting his son. When confronted he pulls a gun and allegedly aims it at you, possibly with the intention of firing. You not only chose to handle such situations but you’re also being paid to be there. You likely have a vest on, you likely have cover, you have distance, you can fire at any time you see fit now and your gun certainly is loaded, and, you cannot know for sure if it’s a real gun/unloaded etc. Also, essentially and for all intents you have operational control seeing as though you could likely retreat successfully. Despite your motivations, is a by-definition homicide in reply justified?
This is the sort of thing that bothers me whether it’s this case or a soldier partaking in combat “fighting for freedom for his country” because he was told another country may have WMDs. Turns out that gun was unloaded if you will, as you now know. We’re those homicides also justified in the eyes of God? I don’t claim to know.
Stepfather
Stepfather…not father. Wonder where the wonderful mother was?
Imagine that kid thinking and rationalizing his dad going to find a car. You don’t just find a car to drive.
This poor child!! My heart breaks for him
Someday he'll be glad that his POS step father wasnt able to hurt him or anyone else ever again.
"He's out there in the cold hugging his pillow."
😭😭😭
And without a shoe, what a fcking stupid parent who dont take care of his son to buy or steal at least, a pair of shoes, instead a car
That pillow was probably full of drugs inside
That pillow was probably the only thing that provided comfort in his young life. I'll bet his "stepdad" never embraced that child like the child embraced that pillow. The poor kid was forced to live with and accompany an uncaring, itinerant street thief. I wonder what type of "mother" he has, too.
Shit had me sad
I hate when shitty people ruin the innocence of children
I remember when I was around that age, and my mom was a drug addict. The cops came and took her away because of a domestic disturbance. She was fighting them the whole time and kicking the police car window and screaming like a crazy person, but the whole time, all I wanted was my mommy.
Kids just don’t have the perspective to understand what’s happening. My mom is dead now. I felt nothing but relief when she died. To me, as I got older, she died in my mind long before her body died.
But the little kid inside me still remembers screaming for his mommy. I don’t know if this kid is going to be stronger mentally and emotionally than I am, but my guess is that he will never really get over it. You can’t. It’s too deep.
A terrible memory to carry. My best wishes
My best friend and i both had drug addicted parents. The shit my father would do, and the shit both his parents would do is beyond me. I am now a parent of two girls, and i could never even think about putting them in amy situation i went through. It took me becoming a parent to understand just how bad our were. I am thankful now for it. But wouldn't wish it on anyone
Prayers for strength and healing, brother. 🙏
Hugs
I can identify with this kid's situation. It's totally natural for children to love even garbage parents.
When I was 7, I clearly recall my mom walking out right in front of me
without even turning around to say goodbye to me and dissapearing for years. I had no idea, and no one ever even told me to this day. At the time, I didn't realize the impact it would have on me, or what this implied about her, of course.
Several years later, she got it into her head to connive with my 2 older brothers to run away from Dad, probably with the purpose of humiliating and hurting him, when it was he who had stayed beside us.
She took us away from him like that to be with her abusive husband. She never so much as batted an eye or raised her voice while he physically and mentally abused us.
It took me decades to realize what a counterfeit of a mother and a crappy human she was.
Amazingly, neither of my parents drank, did drugs, or hit each other, but she really fkd us up with the countless irresponsible and unbelievably neglectful and evil crap she did. Here indifference to her own children astounds me to this day.
I hate that father for putting his son through that. That boy had no idea he was a bad guy. This broke my heart.
Imagine going home and telling your wife, “Today, I had to shoot a father dead in front of his child.” Insane.
Man, hearing the kid cry is just heartbreaking. Hope he’s ok
Just another indication of what kind of person the guy was. Putting the kid in that situation.
Ok? Not fucking likely
That did tug at the heart-strings, I do have sympathy for junior. Hopefully he'll be on his way to a better path and might have a chance at a life that isn't all stolen cars and meth. The path his step-dad was on was literally a dead-end one. If the kid gets on a proper heading, this might be a life saved. Step-Dad's life was already nothing, just a thieving zombie.
Pfffff, that sucked
@@verbotn And the actual dad ? where is he ?
Feel bad for the kid. I would never allow a child I was responsible for to even trail behind me that far. Especially at night. Let alone to leave him in a parking garage, even for a split second.
Or walk down roads and across parking lots barefoot in California, where homeless people leave their used drug needles everywhere.

And barefoot man this kid was really living bad, not glad his dad Is dead but I'm glad he's out of that environment 😢
Imagine being the kid and this pops up on your recommended… heart breaking stuff.
I don't know what's more heartbreaking the horrible life that poor child suffered before getting taken away, or having to go through the trauma of watching your dad get shot. His, "Dad, Dad, no no no," cries choked me up totally. That poor little boy deserved so much better. I hope he is getting some help to stop this cycle.
It’s sad that a child that is so terribly neglected by his dad, can still love him and cry out for his life to be spared.
Yeah, seriously. I was thinking the same. Kid has my prayers. He deserves better. Hope he finds someone to love him and protect him like a true father should.
He was his step dad.
@@pbsjones makes ya wonder where Mom is and what the heck was going on. Lil dude was out on a crime spree with this guy. I need to know more. Is mom around? did she give consent to have the kid? step dad doesn't mean legal guardian unless he was adopted in court of law as far as CYS or courts would be concerned. The amount of mental abuse this kid endured has to be mind blowing.
ok read up some I guess the Mother gave consent for the kid to be with the stepdad, however he had no connection to the Quality inn in California from Vegas where he sole the car and gun. So they are investigating as to why he would have ended up there to begin with but the boy and his mother have been reunited for whatever that is worth no judging.
Seems like the Mom is doing a poor job protecting this kid from her criminal thug boyfriend.
This has me in tears hearing that poor kid scream and thinking about what his life has been like and seeing all this go down. It's a shame some parents put their kids in these situations

@mv 20 I don't think his mother is a whole lot better. She allowed this to happen. If the boy will find a safe environment he has a chance. But the chance he will end up as a deranged copkiller is equal.
I am guessing here, this child was never going to have a chance with this father, step or otherwise, he is reckless to say the least, the sight of the kid walking behind his father wearing just one shoe is heartbreaking, this is so sad that the child witnessed the killing of his father, with careful treatment and care this child will hopefully grow into an adult with confidence, an education and can make a difference to his world.

it's sad to see what the boy had to go through..
Sad that kid just thinks it’s normal for “Dad to go get a car” He’s teaching him its normal to just go take whatever you want. The real sad part is if he was left in his care the kid would probably (not knowing any better) grow up to do the same thing, and we would probably all feel sorry for the kid knowing/viewing him as a kid that grew up with a bad influence, but then again maybe the guy stealing the cars grew up with a bad influence. It’s easy to say “hey at some point you need to get your shit together” but the truth is it’s hard for some folks to break the cycle and do the right thing when everyone around them is doing the wrong thing. I say this from experience I am one of the few that was able to break the cycle, I came from a family of “wrong doers” everyone said I would end up in prison. But I was able to look at all the people around me and say I don’t want my life to be this way, so I worked 2 jobs a big part of my young life did everything I could do to avoid trouble and now teaching my own kids to avoid trouble at all costs. But I do understand how hard it is to turn right when everyone around you is turning left. Sorry for the long comment. Hope it helps someone to make better decisions.
You turn right, and they try to shame you into helping them when their left turn ends them up in trouble.
I can only say, good for you! And congratulations! It must have been hard! You should be proud.
Good on ya Mike. You are a true hero.
Your comment is spot on and exactly how/what I think too. I have to say, I'm sorry that you had such a difficult childhood. I was lucky in that department. I was in a difficult marriage, however, and when my daughter was 1yo, we lost her dad/my husband. It was perhaps what was meant to happen (me be a single parent), but I hate that it happened the way it did. I shudder to think of what my daughter may have been exposed to. I know I would have left and started over if not when it did happen, then soon. I would never have kept my daughter in that situation, especially how fast it was going downhill. You should be very proud of yourself and the work you put in to have a good, honest, successful and happy life. Breaking any cycle is hard, especially if it is a cycle you were brought up in. Congrats on achieving that and your for hard work paying off so you could make a safe, secure place to raise your own family. I mean this sincerely.😄👍🏼

I deleted my original comment only because I found out that the mom and daughter were here defending him in the comments. I read their defense of this guy, so I changed my response to this: NONE of that situation - not a single moment told me that this was a loving parent who wanted to do the right thing. So this comment is for the family and friends. I know that he was loved by YOU, but that alone doesn't mean he's a good guy. If this was a caring family man, would would have NEVER:
-Fled the scene of an accident
-Walked around a parking lot and through a neighborhood looking for a car to steal.
-"somehow randomly" possessing multiple blank keys convenient for stealing cars..... (btw, GM and Honda keys are different - he had MORE than one type of blank key)
-Pulling a GUN on the cops with his stepson in the front seat - 100% zero excuse for doing this.
So, I'm sorry you are going through what you are going through, but you need to open your eyes and realize that this guy NEVER CARED FOR YOU. I don't know a single person who would dare pull a gun out on the cops with their son in the front seat. That's absolute insanity. So, I know you hate me. That's fine. But realize what is right and wrong here. This was 100% WRONG and indicative of more problems that you may or may not even be aware of. Mom, you need to start holding these guys accountable if you really do "care" as you say you do. Otherwise, you're probably just like he is.
I do agree with your comments, but I will add a caveat: Women who choose men like this suffer from profound low-esteem and self-loathing. It's almost like Stockholm Syndrome. They are incapable of clear-eyed, critical thinking. It's similar to religious "truthers" - you cannot convince them they are wrong.

Agreed and anyone who wants to defend his actions can go to hell right with him!
To be fair, they just wanted to know why the kid was left alone in a parking lot, and questioned why he was trying to open the car that did not belong to him.
They did not knew he was a felon, and they would have asked him his registration for the current car, which he would have failed to provide of course. But none of them would have fired if he did not pointed a gun at the officer.
I don't understand why people keep pointing guns at the police, this is not a movie, pointing gun won't stop them from doing their investigation and let you get away.
When you're in a haze of drugs you don't see the real reality. Your mind isn't working properly. To even remotely defend this coward shows ones mindset. Speaks for itself.
