      No. Day's was pathetic. He tried to bluster his way into toughness, calling out a 90 year-old. His players might (or might not) be tough, but he's soft.

      Genuine emotion in most cases is what you want on a broadcast. What’s worse than some “professional” bobble head or hairdo saying all the same things the same way for the 5th time in a season-at that point just have an AI algorithm broadcast the games.
      You take a guy in his late 30’s and tell him an hour before a crucial road game that he’s running the whole show and he goes out and kills it! Bring those tears of joy all day!
      Tough love here, if the Ohio State staff had half the heart the Michigan staff has had for the past 3 years, they may have been more successful. Their response to Michigan getting it done with team cohesion and development, however, is to write checks to guys from out of state with no ties to the program.
      You’ll get what you’ve been getting….talented guys with no heart.

      One of the unique (?) qualities of the competitive harbaugh is his self centered drive that turns into downright narcicism when he has a goal he wants to accomplish.

    I'm writing this in the obvious very unlikely hopes that Harbaugh will see this & have realize in his heart what the icon/hero he could have been by staying at Mich for the fans & the team, the team, the team. Just like every grounded UofM fan I am beyond thankful what Harbaugh has done for the team for 9 yrs, esp after the disaster/damage RichRod & Hoke did to Mich. It may have not been immediate with beating Ohio & MSU but us Mich fans were more than glad to be patient to build the right culture esp with the 2021 season & forward. Some say what more does he have to prove at Mich after climbing the mountain & winning the natty & my response to that is....... LEGACY! Harbaugh had the opportunity to essentially become the Saban of the Big Ten by owning Ohio, winning more B1G titles, making the playoffs & possibly maybe a few more nattys. He could have been essentially Bo 2.0 & be the greatest coach ever at Mich, and is essentially better than Bo by winning the natty. He would have had complete autonomy & control of his Mich teams & all of us were more than willing to put up with his quirkiness & flirtations with the NFL. He may have been odd & quirky but he was "our" odd & quirky & we loved it. I mean, Bo turned down an NFL job & big money for his love & pull to stay at Mich and that made him one of a kind in Mich lore. Harbaugh also would have had, as he always wanted "been shown the love" as he would've been the highest paid coach ALONG with complete control of his staff & teams. The NFL meaning "Not For Long" just doesn't apply to players & being fired at Mich (even if he had some down seasons) would have nvr have happened to him. And we all know we did not want him fired in 2020 & he would have not been fired anyway. As much as I love Harbaugh for what he's done at Mich he has kind of shown how money is guiding him as opposed to commitment & legacy. He's already great & has a legacy at Mich but why does beating Ohio, B1G titles, & a Natty have to be seen as "mission accomplished" like it's the end result. Why couldn't it be "the mission/the journey/the dominance/the culture continues"? By staying at Mich not only would have a statue right next to Bo, but a stadium eventually named after him. We all love Sherrone Moore & is prob the best candidate to keep the current culture in place without taking a hit in recruiting, but I personally think Moore will be turn out like Ryan Day & be really good for a few yrs but then eventually lose regularly to Ohio & not winning B1G titles & playoffs. I think he'll be like Juwan Howard & be a good name/recruiter but it won't translate into wins. It'll eventually go back & we'll accept 3, 4, 5 loss seasons like it was under Carr. Thank you Harbaugh for what you've given us & restoring Mich to unprecedented heights but millions of fans were hoping commitment & dominance would be the continued happy spiritual journey you always preached.

    • @ragdude10960
      @ragdude10960 5 месяцев назад

      That is some thoughtful commentary. However, I would challenge your point about money in that he could likely have made more continuing on at Michigan. He is a different breed and, being someone who played professionally, I think that whole Lombardi trophy thing tends to resonate more with some than it does for a lot of us true college football fans. Personally, I might watch 4 or 5 NFL games all season (including the Super Bowl) and I typically watch at least that many college games in a week. I think this whole NFL thing is something people like me just don't feel. Good post though.

    I'm not surprised that Mark had the terrible take he has about Sherrone's post-game interview after Penn State. Mark has the personality of a 1040 tax form. You can tell he's trying to be a stoic but he just comes off as uppity. I normally wouldn't comment about how Mark acts but when he's going to criticize how a good man like Sherrone acts, than Mark is fair game. I'm completely fine with how Sherrone acted in that situation. He, and the team, had the weight of the world on them for weeks, all hoping they'd lose. The team was being selectively targeted for misconduct, when misconduct is the name of the game at most colleges. Then being demonized by those same colleges that do even worse than what Michigan is being accused of. Everyone, but Michigan, wanted Penn State to obliterate Michigan and thought Penn State was capable. On top of that, Sherrone learns on short notice he has to be the head coach and offensive coordinator AND offensive line coach in this, oh by the way, first Top 10 matchup of the season. Then Michigan goes out and shoves a middle finger in the face of the world by beating Penn State in Happy Valley so YEAHHHHH. Sherrone was going to be a smidge emotional Mark!!! We know Mark has never led men into a tough situation, and has never experienced the camaraderie that comes from that, so he wouldn't understand Sherrone having a real, non-rehearsed, non-focus grouped, human moment like that. By the way, he did it ONE TIME! Mark is a good sport on this show, but he seriously needs to crank his Uppity level down about 7 notches.

    I've watched all the recent history.
    Are we sugar coating the reality of what's in store for Michigan football?
    Harbaugh is a generational coach.
    I wish Moore the best, but I'm a realist after being a fan over 50 years.
    I see a coattail ride by Moore in year one, then I see transfers and struggles.I hope I'm wrong!
    We should be happy to have won a national title,
    Mark see's what's truly coming with a smirk.

      Taking Herbert was unexpected and a big punch. He could have taken Herbert's replacement. NFL players are not going to be great with the drill SGT mentality. Herbs' biggest talent is tough love. Works on 18-22 year-olds. Think military. Bad move by Jim. Can't blame Herbert. Money was huge. This could impact players leaving or not coming.

    They have a tough schedule this year. How they do against Texas will set the stage for the season. If they beat Texas, I could see them going 10 - 2… They get Oregon and USC at home. Think our defense keeps us in those games. Washington not only lost a lot, they are in transition as well. I don’t see them going undefeated. With transition and losing almost every starter on offense, it’ll be a challenging year.

    Mark needs to get real!! It’s way easier to reload when you are constantly getting top 5 recruiting classes and paying $13 mill to buy trophies verse Michigan’s path with top 15 recruiting classes and an administration that’s afraid to make use of the richest alumni base on the planet. It takes Michigan yearSSS to develop low 4 star and 3 star guys into a team that can crush the hearts and dreams of Ohio’s truckload of soft 5 stars and high 4 stars. Michigan will most likely lose to the bought and paid for team from Ohio this year. Let’s be real!

  • @timleineke1997
    @timleineke1997 5 месяцев назад

    Michigan is just a fan base with realistic expectations whern jt comes to a team thats losing almost its entire offense. Ohio state loses its entire offense and just expects with the way they recruit they are a 10 maybe 11 win team. Until Michigans recruiting elevates into the to 8 or so..yeah when we lose our offense or defense we will expect to lose 3 games. That just being realistic. We dont have a trust issues that cause is to think oh well they wont make the right decisions so were gonna lose 3 or 4 games ...its all about what we lost and how well we recruit. We are a developmental school, so when the big loss of talent happens , sometimes it takes 2 or 3 years to build up the team . We will always rely heavily on seniors , and right now were kinda young again

    deace, i remember watching your show back in 2021, when you were calling for harbaugh to be fired. now you love him. the entirety of your love for harbaugh as the face of your program stems entirely from the 2021 trhough 23 seasons, and yet in your stalions-esque manifesto expressed in this video, you refuse to acknowledge the elephant in the room regarding those seasons. your team has the sword of damocles hanging over its head, because harbaugh cheated, and you've turned into frank drebin - nothing to see here folks.
    you can celebrate these last three seasons, and still address and acknowledge the issue. instead, you've turned into the karine jean-pierre of michigan football. you'd rather ignore the tough questions, and just go with the everything is great routine. back in those days when you criticized harbaugh, at least you were honest, but now you've sacrificed your objectivity and integrity on the altar of win at any cost. when - not if - the ncaa comes down on michigan, any criticism of harbaugh will ring hollow. it'll be too late to reclaim your integrity, because any criticism you level then won't be because of harbaugh's cheating, it'll be because michigan football is paying the price for his cheating. you'll be criticizing the punishment, instead of the crime.
    given your day job, you should hold yourself to higher standard. be better than that deace.

    Love the podcast! I just want to say that Harbaugh gave those coaches (Minter, Herbert, Elston ect) an opportunity. It would be niave to think that those coaches wouldn't have went anywhere else for other opportunities. They went on their own accord knowing and trusting Harbaugh, that same trust when Harbaugh trusted Coach Sherrone Moore to lead Michigan to victory in the last 3 games. Coach Wink is going to boost that #1 Michigan defense nasty in the best way. Now, Coach Moore can leave the defense to Coach Wink (whom has Coach Clinkscale and other coaches at his side) and focus on the offense as he is an offensive coach. The Michigan offense has a strong core that love to play for Coach Moore; Loveland, El Hadi, Crippen, Priebe, Edwards, Mullins, Bredeson, Benjamin Hall, and more. Defensively; Michigan has Hausmann and Barham which will make for a seamless transition. Also, for the most part, everyone else returns! And these champions will be even better. Having more experience and just winning a national title. The Michigan Wolverines ,team 145, will win another national title. Go Blue!

    I think we all know what will happen. Back to Carr records of getting & accepting 3, 4, 5, 6 loss seasons and maybe beating Ohio once a decade. No playoff appearances & usual bowl losses. Sure, Moore was the best bet to keep some of the culture in place & the players love him but it's not gonna translate into wins. Moore is a good OC coord or assistant coach but not for sustained leadership. Essentially he's no Harbaugh & the fissures will show up fairly quickly. This is not hating on Moore but I know the realities of what's to come. If Mich is lucky then Moore will possibly be like Ryan Day & have maybe 2 seasons with 2 losses each season, then it'll fall apart culture/scheme wise where the admin, the AD, the fans & the players will accept 9-3, 8-4, 7-5 seasons with regular losses to rivals. Moore loves Mich & as a fan I want him to succeed but I think deep down we know it's not going to be a continuation of a Harbaugh led team. Not too thrilled either how JH has siphoned off much needed coaches & staff when he fully knows it'll effect Mich negatively. Minter, Herbert, probably Hart 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

    Your team and fans will be the most hated in football history.
    That National title trophy will tarnish fast. There is a good chance that you'll lose to Fresno State this year. If that happens you will have a bullseye on you for years.
    Don't get it twisted. Harbaugh left because what's going to happen to your program. So he's coaching the Chargers. Good luck with the Chiefs in that division.
    Just know that when your program starts to eat shit that's going to be served to you by the NCAA? It's best not to chew. Swallow. And dig. I wouldn't rush to Columbus as a Michigan fan in November.
