Hi Andi. Several years ago, I read that creative people are drawn to boxes. I think it's true!
I’m polish and that makes me happy polish craftsmanship is popular among the people here.
Polish pottery too. Very popular in the U.S.
I have cigar boxes, small trinket boxes, one Russian lacquerware box, wood boxes, glass boxes. Thats where I keep the treasures!
Being from the Tampa area, I LOVE cigar boxes, especially ones local to Tampa and Ybor City. So much history here!
You are very gracious to share your knowledge. Appreciate you.
Thanks for sharing what's selling. It good to know what other people are into. I always enjoy your vlogs.
Great video, realizing I'm selling my art online too low. And I never sell boxes online but now I need to give that a go.
Andi, I appreciate your natural, down to earth, conversational style. You have a good eye. I’ve been picking up copper trays and boxes for myself for years. Was a “box collector kid” myself. I used to pick up those really small, brightly colored, acrylic or plastic boxes with lids that snap on. I don’t see them anymore and I doubt many of them survived the 70’s but I know they are still out there. My grandmother took me to a lot of science museums and I’d always get them in the gift shops. My boyfriend has a stack of Florentine trays from his visits to Italy. I went to Italian thrift shops in 2023 and they have those trays too. I also found leather Florentine book covers there and the brightly painted ceramic jars with lids that I use for salt or just have sitting around. Yesterday I picked up two gorgeous pieces of pottery from Goodwill and a large brass vase. You are influencing me lol! But I do need to unload stuff and should become a reseller. Intimidated by the shipping and figuring out margins. Maybe talk about that in a video? Detailed pricing/shipping info? I will remember your $10 - $25 sourcing limit.
I’ve bought so many boxes from gift shops too! I have two videos where I talk a bit about shipping and pricing. I always recommend start with easy to ship items first and then branch out. I usually add about $10 to the price to cover free shipping but you totally don’t have to do free shipping.
I just found you! Thank you for your generosity and support! I'm a brand new seller, and I admit, it's intimidating! I do have a lot to sell!
Boxes are always handy, especially for crafters - I love any type of storage, if it means I can hide my craft stash in it even better!😀
I think it really depends on your market. None of these sell for me but porcelain figurines, milk glass and embroidered linens always sell.
love this style of video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
So helpful…keep the information coming.
Junk drunk 😂 what a great way to describe it and SO TRUE!! Love your content ❤
FIRE🖤
I love these videos. More, more, more!
Hi friend I’m glad your doing so well. You look so happy
This really helped me to reconsider how I look at stocking and what sells or not. I have a good eye but I need to listen to the market more. I can concur with what Andi said here. I just need to pay attention more.
Love this style video! Thanks.
Another super helpful and informative video! I just listed a florentine tray yesterday!
Hi! I'm a new subscriber and am loving your channel! So fun and helpful for me as a new reseller. I have a booth in an antique mall, but haven't sold on Etsy yet. I'm enjoying learning more about that process. Thank you!
YAY!!! I love these videos that give us ideas of what to be looking for! Thank you, Andi!
You’re welcome!! ❤️
This was a fantastic tutorial and intro to “vintage i have an eye and loved your top movers will be on the look out i have 2 hand painted boxes folk art in my dead pile you have breathed new life into me
Ive been selling copper too low. Thanks for your valuable time
I love that pink wicker guy behind you did you give it a name , o love boxes too
Thanks for your perspective. I sell tarnished silver, silverplate, hymnals, and old books in my booth. On Etsy it's all about restaurant china, especially creamers.
Many thanks for another informative video. I’m in the UK and an Etsy seller so not always transferable but I think these items are what Etsy vintage is all about anyway. I offer free shipping in the UK but charge for overseas😁
You’re welcome! I charge for overseas shipping too. Luckily I have in-laws in the UK so if I ever see something I like I have them buy and bring in their suitcase. ❤️
Wonderful video, thank you for sharing. I always pick up Florentine pieces, can’t resist them. Have you ever shipped a set of the nesting tables?
Not yet! Ive never found a set cheap enough for resale.
Thank you for doing this video!! I have wanted to try Etsy so this helps alot!! I have 2 booths in an Antique Mall in Florida! Also, love the 3 Sisters painting is it still available? Looked in your Etsy shop and did not see it. Thank you!!❤❤❤
Love your style of teaching and appreciate your knowledge! Do you have a video on how to upload/start an Etsy page?
I sell mostly in my booth and fb
Great tips in this video--very practical and useful. I'm also in the PNW, I'm also a reseller, and also mostly home decor. I too buy small because I don't have a lot of storage space. I watched your Stars Antique Mall videos, and I wish I'd known they had sales. Do you have any other favorite antique malls? Thanks!
Love your video! I definitely have a thing for boxes of all shapes/sizes/designs!
Since your prices have shipping costs baked in, is there a % or standard amount that you consider as shipping charges when pricing an item? Thank you!
I lost my Andi challenge. 😅 I thought you would say textiles and wicker. I still have my 1989 Ebony box from Ghana. Great episode once again!
I sold Myrtle wood candy dish, this week/ brand new Cusinart food processor/ a ton of dresses. It’s dress season . I found great boxes a while ago and I have not listed them :( The same day I found a box with a Mia Angelou’s quote about family and kept it for me lol ❤
Definitely small paintings are good sellers for me too. Also vintage cutlery and servers.
Thanks for the cutlery tip! And I’m glad to know small art does well for you too!
@@AllPutTogether they’re also easy to ship!
Hello. Enjoyed. I think you said boho is on its way out. What is the new wave/style please? Thanks!
Whatever you want it to be x
Love videos about this topic! Thanks!
Grandmacore, Grandpacore, and Regency because bridgeton has had a huge influence lately.
Florentine is hard to find at good prices here in Dallas. Recently I saw a tray at an estate sale for $75!!! That was crazy and other prices there not so bad.
Considering you offer free shipping, How do you handle large heavy items shipping outside the contiguous states like Hawaii and Alaska? I am also offering free shipping in my vintage shop but shipping to those places kills my profit but I can not see a way to omit them. What do you suggest?
I saw an episode of American Pickers from 2014 and Mike used the term "junk drunk' (I know he used it in another episode as well.) so I'm wondering if he was the person that coined that term.
Hey girl I have 35 yr collection of collectibles decor all kinds of things stored in my basement and upstairs spare bedroom need to sell I’m ready to take to auction hoping I can declutter. Everything very unorganized and not much help 1000 listings on facebook marketplace I’m in trouble need help . Thanks for sharing wish me luck I can sell a lot at auction thankyou . Let me know what you think I should do I’m 69 years old tired of stuff want my home declutter RD. I don’t like paying fees and storage fees because pricing is rediculous for all these long tail sales items
You could invite a bunch of resellers over for a private sale where they dig and make a pile. When I’ve gone to this type of sale, the owner usually posts a bunch of group photos on FB and then people can make an appointment.
Why do you end all your prices in $8?
Regarding the wooden carved boxes-make sure they open. If not, it's probably someone's pet😢
Yes! I have a reseller friend who found ashes in a pretty box once. Yikes!
