This is the vocal version of "Break the Rules" first featured in the Scarface Packs trailer, that also has a chance to play in-game instead of the regular instrumental assault track. All credits go to Simon Viklund and OVERKILL Software/Starbreeze Studios. I simply spliced in the last few seconds from the trailer as they are absent from the game version and added the lyrics.

Break the Rules and I Will Give You My All 2017 could both pass as non-Payday songs. Seriously, Viklund's talents are wasted on Payday 2 but god damn does he give us some of the best music in gaming.

but he really likes doing this kind of stuff and does come back every now and then to voice lines for bain, because he's the voice actor for him, and make music

@@IconicCROSS I played 3 heists with it for over 2 hours and didn't get the lyrics once. I'm unlucky af lol. I thought that the song would play the instrumental version and then in a specific moment he'd start the "lets break the rules" part out of nowhere.

Greatest moment is when you have this on as a custom track, then when you're on the final objective, the RNG plays the lyrics version. It happened to me on Hoxton Breakout, it was amazing.

Agreed. I played with someone on Hoxton Breakout with a keycard and the lyric version played when we're about to escape. He told me that I should just use the drill because it's the first time he heard this song (apparently, he set his track to "same as host"). It was epic escaping the compound with this track playing.

Stealth: Can cover a good portion of the mission and actually makes things way easier. Gives bonus Exp and money.
Loud: The whole army will be on your ass, objectives are way more complicated, some times you have to take extra steps to advance and can have an extra escape event. That without mentioning all the annoying and lethal units like cloakers, snipers, bulldozers, tasers and shields.... You get really good music...

I just came back to this game after a two year break, first thing I played with my friends was Scarface Mansion and I got the lyrics version in both the first and last assault waves. Felt like the game was telling me "welcome back".

I got the game around when it released and stopped playing around 2014 because they changed stealth. You used to be able to answer 4 pagers, dominate 2 guards, and convert one with joker. So a total of 6 pagers. Then they made it so dominating triggered pagers and answering 4 made more guards spawn. I'm really glad I chose to revisit the game after 9 years, though I still liked stealth much more the old way, when you would clear the whole map of guards in stealth, then the map was yours to do whatever you wanted.

Since I dont have the dlc for this music, the only time i heard the Lyric and Non-lyric version was in the story mode heist of Scarface mansion.

I just did Scarface Mansion first time last night (I'm a late buyer), and at first I was loving the 80's synth rock going on. Then just as we burned the paintings the lyrics kicked in.
My jaw actually dropped. From then on until the end of the heist we were backed by the full vocal track. Now my favorite heist and song for sure.
This heist is honestly one of the few I really enjoy doing on loud! Best part is I’ll have the Scarface heist member fully loaded out for war! So in my mind that’s Montana reclaiming his mansion 😂

Simon is very underrated. Not only is he a lyrical genius, he also made the music adaptive in payday. There is the stealth theme, which loops until you break stealth, in which case it goes into 3 phases which keep looping

The license OVERKILL had for the DLC expired and they chose not to renew it. As a result, they removed the DLC from the Steam store, but it still exists in some versions of the game a well as codes online (which are probably mega fucking expensive now.)

Payday 2 fans: We love this game, had 5k hrs in this. But I would not reccomend this addiction to even my worst enemy.
Found this song not because of payday but a payday style operation on ARMA 3 that my group made. Started with us surrounded by swat and police who then started chasing our armored trucks. as we smacked through the first barricade the lyrics start blaring in our headsets. We went from " shit we're being chased" to " Hold my beer, we're 80's movie main characters now."
If Holding Out for a Hero is about pumping up the hero to save the day, THIS song pumps up the villain to go commit some epic crime.
As a child of the 80's I can say, with qualification, this is perfect!
