Just want to comment and say this is more information than I've ever seen explained on the Jb4 forums. Thank you for this. This is so much better than "try a log in map 6" or their really short one line answers. Great video
Great video I have the new 3.0 supra and I'm using jb4 also but the afr isn't like anything I've seen it stays at 14.7 throughout the log the tuner said it's a BMW thing it cuts throttle and uses electronic everything to control boost and afr.. I'm still learning everything on it.. it's completely different from my 650whp sti
@@DylanCarGuy yeah that's what I'm saying the supra stays at 14 the whole pull it's just the way it is I've always went richer at wot my STI is down in the 10s at wot but from my understanding it's normal and where it should be on the new b58 engines
Thanks for da video. I made a couple mistakes...i started in 4th gear and didn't shift manually so it shifted at 6100 instead of 6500 redline. But my boost is nowhere near as steady as yours...it jumps up n down...BMS said it all looks good with no explanation...but the boost is definitely weird cuz on stock map its low but steady. Thanks in advance for any insight.
You mentioned about Colorado and altitude, well my understanding this is valid for naturally aspirated engine only, boost engines will make the amount of boost regardless of altitude. Am I wrong?
You would be wrong afr is completely different for turbo cars in places with high elevation. I’ve dialed in numerous cars and each state is different slightly

Hi, any recommandation on how to get started with a WRX 6MT map 6 tune? I just got the JB4, and I'm currently running map 2, and would like to a little bit more from the 93/94. JB4 tech forum doesn't seem to explain it much.
Absolutely, I'm happy to show you a test. It's a little boring with the back and forth updates, but I'm sure it will help some subscribers. Normally how we do it is 3rd gear 2900 rpm to red line review log and adjust slowly adjusting boost until satisfied and then fully dialing in afr to desired spots.
Hey bro thanks for the video. If I set my max boost to 25 and failsafe also does that mean that my boost settings can not exceed over that number or do I look at my target to get max value?
Hey bro, if you set your boost failsafe to 25 it has to hit above 25 from more than a split second, so it's unlikely to run 25 for multiple RPM, but if you hit 25 while shifting that's okay. I'm happy to review any of your logs if you want to email me we can always work towards whatever goal you have
So if I'm understanding correctly I could possibly up the boost slightly in map 6 save and then run map 2 and get more boost....this is very slowly starting to make sense to me
Nice video, could you explain what the adjustments do. I'm mostly confused about adding and subtracting from the fuel bias. Does a lower number add fuel or reduce fuel?
@DylanVBWRX that's what I thought. I didn't want to go the wrong way and take away instead of adding. I started watching the video, soon as we have some down time here at work I'll watch the whole thing. Thanks for the response
IGN1 timing will slowly increase 1 2 3 4 5, but if it goes 1 2 3 4 2 2 4 that would be a timing pull and tune is too aggressive for fueling. Remember more boost less timing it’s a balancing act
Sorry one more ?, since I've updated I automatically data log when going to full acceleration at anytime i dont push to data log, is this a new feature?
You can adjust the pedal setting to a higher percentage of it's data logging too often. For test manually input to third gear 3k press start log run to red line press stop log
0 0 0 1 2 3 4 1 1 4 that dip at the end is a timing pull which means it’s too aggressive for the fuel either drop the boost by .5 increments in that area or lower the fuel bias to see if it helps.

14.7 cruising is stoichiometric wide open throttle is what really matters when you're viewing the maps. Love the new supra!

Hi Dylan! I’m having some drivability issues and wanted to see if I could send you a log to get your thoughts? Would you be willing to help me out?

Negative ghost rider. Boost doesn't carry over it only applies to map 6. All other settings adjust to those maps though
Nice video, could you explain what the adjustments do. I'm mostly confused about adding and subtracting from the fuel bias. Does a lower number add fuel or reduce fuel?
I just want to understand what each of those adjustments are actually doing.

Dropped that video for you my friend lowering bias technically adds fuel raising reduces fuel

What does the PID gain mean
How far away from the set target
