Can't he just down air to have a similar effect? That said, this does allow for more cheesey options when not using Stone Scabbard and Gale Stab as your recovery tools!
Down air is usually minus on hit and won't kill most characters if they have their jump or just up b back. You can always usually only do one down air unless you have Stone Scabbard
@ScrubbedOut That is why I typically run Stone Scabbard. I normally run 2213 since it has probably the best recovery of the good sets anyway, so I can make it back from deep edge guards with relative ease (if only I was better at teching the up b reversals, but that's just a skill issue).
