What are you talking about, Lars is amazing, the double bass, the speed, the volume, that's what you want in a drummer!! Don't just say Lars sucks because every troll on the internet said so.
I don't know what all you guys are complaining about. I saw the death magnetic tour and it was loud as shit. Lars can still play as loud and fierce as he did.
I love almost all of this but I fuckin hate how during this period they perposefully played Four horsemen as slow as fuckin possible. Like why? It sounds horrible at this speed
Ah, the 90's Metallica: when Jaymz was rude to the audience and they were "ashamed" of playing their classic old stuff from "Kill" and "Ride". This medley just does a disservice to the songs that it includes. This is only worth anything because Jaymz still had a voice, the guitars had that unmistakable crunch and Lars still could play the drums with unbridled ferocity.
i think james thought kill/ride was too extreme for tla normie mainstream audience who started followimg mwtallica after the black album not really ashamed lol.
@@shred9475 Fair argument, however, I think they just like to jam and play around with things as they warm up and in jam rooms. So they figured they just want to play around with those songs. A band gets tired of playing the same songs anyway, however, sometimes in contacts I believe they are obligated to play certain songs, or they just love doing it.
@@shred9475 If you ever listened to a band called Destroyer 666, see a live video of the song I am the Wargod, seeing everyone in the crowd yell I am the Wargod must be a rush like no other, or seeing everyone yell Die in the middle of Creeping Death, it must be incredible
Is this where I tell you how many times I have seen them live over the last 25yrs? Metallica are a live band, always have been but their guitars have been bad for some time. This latest Through the Never show was different, they stepped it up and sounded much much better.
The Load era sucked because most songs on Load and Reload are lifeless generic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal to try and repeat the Black Album's massive success by taking it one step further...didn't exactly work. Give the first 5 albums a good listen and tell me sincerely that the Lyrics, the Solos, The Drumming and the complexity of the songs weren't way better and way more creative
Honestly, yes they were shorter, but some of those songs during this era are actually more technical to play on the guitar than some of the earlier stuff.
Love the crunchiness of everything during this era
There’s something about Hetfield with that hot rod V and matching shirt that just feels so right
He had drip

His drumming style is very simple but it works with James’ riffs extremely well
Those drums sound fucking massive!
I love Lars in 5:36 to 5:42. I miss this fill in Hit The Lights. :/.
Fuckin-A! \m/
Jason back vocals never dissapoints
Haha Lars has the best “drumming face” ever. It’s like an excited kid eating an ice cream cone in anger.
I love how much energy James brings , wish he would do that today
jonathan pesek this was over 20 years ago now
He was 34 here. He is 59 now
@@shred9475 so Fuckn what they don’t play every night
ride the lightning sounds Amazing in 1997,
I bought my Metallica hockey jersey at this concert! I also had that same long sleeve shirt. I bought it from the fan club site.
Was at this show
That JH-1.. I like the green one a lot more, but man, this one looks killer!!!!
I was at this show at the old Nassau Coliseum. It was my first Metallica concert!
That crowd Holy Shit !
Back then they were using Mesa/Boogie exclusively. M/B always kicks maximum ass!
Back to 1984 and 1983
1:57
Lars: “you fucking see this shit? Check this out!Watch this shit! See this?!“
Jason le vendió su dulce y maldita alma a metálica y a todos nosotros ..por siempre Jason graciasssss totales🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💪💪💪💪💪💪💪🤘🤘🤘
I don't know what all you guys are complaining about. I saw the death magnetic tour and it was loud as shit. Lars can still play as loud and fierce as he did.
Lars sounds good here
I love how James pushes the unsuspecting security guard at 3:18 ! hahaha.
Was at this show saw them 3x on this tour
That's the fucking Lars Ulrich I Love ♡
Brilliant! so much energy! lml
FUCK ME lars was crazy on ride the lightning \m/
His playing has gotten better since, the Nimes show is a good example. Now only if he would still hit this hard.
i think the reason he can't hit as hard anymore is that he has had shoulder problems for years. plus he is old
Lars be 60 this year 2023
God damn, that crowd is fucking ALIVE!!!
New York always brings it at Metallica shows
Oh man those guitars sound GOOD. Why don't they sound like this anymore?
They still use a very similar setup
@@cornerpubsports2958 It's all emulated effects now. No more Mesa.
@@cornerpubsports2958 they used mesa, now they use Fractal Axe-FX I believe
@@xBorisAntasxthought it was Line 6 they where using
I miss jason
🔝
3:08 Look at Jason under there lol. He was the band itself
The LOAD Tour ruled.
Back when people gave them shit for the load album the crowds immediate response for the old shit is phenomenal!!
they look so much younger
Tbh the haircuts made them look older
maybe just maybe because it is 25 years ago
Lars is pounding the shit out of those drums on ride the lightning
Jesus...1 person doesnt like this.
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely...feels so alone.
Brian McGowan Such a lonely day...
They're 3 now...
So where is the full concert?
Please, upload full concert :)
Did you have more videos from this show?
Que buen medley
Love Lars Ulrich head bang
The bass drums sound HUGE
The guitars sounds better, but they are playing slower so I guess it's a fare trade all things considered
Where's the full show? All I see is Kill/Ride, Sandman, and Fade To Black
I love almost all of this but I fuckin hate how during this period they perposefully played Four horsemen as slow as fuckin possible. Like why? It sounds horrible at this speed
The last show with Jason was Lexington 2000, but his very last performance with them was in 2001.
Which show was the last one with Jason?
Wasn't until 2000
I never said they "sold out" I said the result of their new direction were simpler, dumber and less creative songs
Where the Fuck's Kirk? XD
Lars "cocaine" Ulrich
Go to a live show, they sound BETTER than this.. minus the vocals. It's just the videos they post are sound board audio.
why Jason always use t-shirts Xxxlll??
Cuz oversized was in trend back in '97.
Jorge Sanchez those were the only ones he could get for free lol
because he was very skinny

cant hear any sound at all
Listen to the drums, listen to the guitars....fuuuuu! How they can sound soo bad today baffles me?
Triaxis sound...
"We're playing for us not you." Well then don't you get too excited I'm spending my money for me not Metallica. What a thing to say man
He's only getting the crowd going and in a way he has a point, they chose the setlist they want to play.
Lars fue el mejor batería.......
it was in 2003 i think
Are you dumb or something like that?
