There was too much ego in the hetfield/Mustaine/ Burton/ulrich lineup. All alpha males everyone wanted to be in charge. Combined with Mustaine’s addictions, it was never going to last. Metallica died with cliff, as then the primary songwriters became Ulrich and Hetfield, so the songwriting power was cut in half, and never recovered. Newsted was not allowed to contribute like Burton.

Also I love the sneaky way Nick ups the tempo while Dave is doing his solo, so that everyone has to up their tempo too. Megadeth was really well oiled machine back then.

This is probably the best performance of this song live. Dave’s voice sounds wicked, the whole band is incredibly in the pocket, Marty is playing these solos damn near like on the record.
The audio was remastered by Andy Sneap in 2007 for Warchest box set. No overdubbed or studio fix on the performance itself though. The bootleg version of this show has been around for many years and instrument and vocal performance are exactly the same.
I bought a can of kit and I played it in a metal band I played in many people tell me that I need to go to a different brand and keep up with the others and competition. My 11 piece Tammi drum kit has never failed me why do I need new ones when the one I have plays just as good as the day I bought them never broke one piece, I only broke drum heads sticks and cracked cymbals
AND he doesn’t even look at his fretboard! Which he still does most of the time today! Even Kerry King commented on that and how he couldn’t do that. And king isn’t playing and singing!

I am a rock/metal drummer and some gigs I lose 5-8 pounds of sweat! that is why you drink lots of Gatorade and water...and have a good meal 3-4 hours before a gig, so you don't faint or lose energy!

I saw them on this tour as a teenager. My dad loaded my bro, a bunch of our friends and I into his 1976 Caprice classic and drove us down from Scranton to the Allentown fairgrounds to see Megadeth with STP.
Not really into Megadeth but the drums on this record always intrigued me. Now I know why. He has his own style for sure. Really sad how he passed but I saw a comment some where saying he died doing what he loved and it's true.

My brother just sent me this video. We were there! I was 12 years old and this was my first metal show. It was epic. Pantera opened for them, it was the Cowboys from Hell tour. I had never heard of Pantera at that time but became a huge fan later on. I found it so strange that Phil Anselmo was jumping around the stage. Someone threw a joint to him before they started playing and he thanked them. Great memories! Still, at 45 years old our cover band, Dentallica plays this song and we love it every time we do it!
The first time I heard this song back in 1992, when I received a tape called Thrash Patrol and Megadeth - Holy Wars was the first song on Side A and when I played the song, I was smitten by the riffs and then I bought all their albums Killing is my Business all the way to Countdown to Extinction. I love how Dave Mustaine transmitted all his anger, personal struggles and political views through his music.
Saw this tour when they came to Manchester with my old gig going buddy who unfortunately died of Covid working as a porter in Royal Stoke Hospital. Great times RIP my friend. ROCK IN PEACE.
Saw them on that tour at Glasgow Barrowlands. Biggest mistake they made was having Pantera open for them. The crowd went apeshit. Blew Megadeth away in my opinion.
