I thought biblically accurate dealings with devils was were you just had to be very specific with what you say, like saying "I want a million bucks" he would give you a million bucks like the animals, but even saying "I want a million dollars he would probably just give you a 1 million dollars in fake money.

I can't wrap my mind around how one dude can be so insanely talented as an animator, an incredibly gifted voice actor, creative enough to come up with all the weird, off-the-wall stuff he does, and also manages to write dialogue like a world-class poet. I'm waiting to find out if MeatCanyon is also an award-winning sculptor, classically trained pianist, world-famous pastry chef, and has published scholarly articles in the New England Journal of Medicine. I sound like I'm man-crushing on the guy, but MeatCanyon, you are very good at what you do.

The dreamworld has a tree that's living on the right and dead on the left. Thomas appears from the right tunnel and leaves through the left. You comes into existence from the darkness of the tunnel, living life on the open tracks where you can actually see, only to return back into the darkness when you die. McQueen being placed in the center of birth and death implies his status of being alive. He was being asked by Thomas whether he wanted to stay where he was, or be taken along with him to the left tunnel, death.
Thomas was trying to fool Lightning into thinking that there was anything but darkness where he was going. That beyond the left tunnel was the best things the world has to offer.

This is definitely one of meat canyons best work by far, i had goosebumps the entire video and the story is told so well to make you unbelievably uneasy. The way the dream segment is executed really adds to it, and lightnings description makes it all the more terrifying. Thomas being a grim reaper type character in this short is definitely funny on paper but meat canyon executed it so well that it fits so perfectly as a train demon. I would love to see a continuation of this story because it just does everything right with the horror, maybe in a sequel we can see lightnings friends encounter the train like sally or maybe a prequel like doc getting confronted by thomas, something like that format. But, this is definitely my favorite meat canyon short of all time.

Such an exquisitely terrifying monologue against a cartoon backdrop that somehow still manages to make me laugh. It's a rare talent MeatCanyon has to make us feel fear and happiness simultaneously. We need more like him.

I love how MeatCanyon make comedy-horror. Like here, where Thomas is uttering on about mortality, wishes of all one could ever want, etc. But then Mater is just being an American stereotype. It’s the perfect balance so that you can get short breaks from the disturbance. I just love it.

I think MeatCanyon needs to start doing MCU post-credit scenes to tie all these together. Then we can have a grand bedroom, Ronald, Thomas video where they seek perfection.
Unlike the insignificance of the characters being cars in the original series, there is a purpose these characters aren’t human. Thomas represents unalterable destiny. The tracks are fate. He has seen everything the tracks have to offer, and while he presents knowledge of the universe, his offer is meaningless. Lightning would only be able to travel the same tracks Thomas has traveled for eons. That’s why Thomas offers an empty deal to Lightning. Lightning is a car. He has control over where he can go, by extent, his future. Thomas wishes he could control his fate like McQueen could, but cannot. He is limited to the unalterable tracks of the eternal hell he’s chosen for himself. Edit: A lot of you take the “train tracks” thing to be literal, and that Thomas did not need such tracks to reach Lightning and Mater. The tracks, physically, do not exist. The tracks represent unmovable fate and existence as a whole. That means Thomas can go anywhere, but as he has seen everything, he has nowhere new to explore. No new feelings to experience. It’s possible Thomas is a dark reflection of Lightning that was offered the same deal by some unknown entity, but unlike McQueen, took the bargain and sold his soul. He is now limited to the world he knows everything about, but is burdened by the knowledge of a limited, boring existence.
Perhaps the tracks aren’t a physical manifestation. Thomas could very well have experienced everything existence had to offer, but is no longer given the privilege of a blissful ignorance to the limited world he now knows by heart. I believe the “selling Mater’s soul” part is a bit of a stretch, but at the same time, there’s no proof against it as far as I can see.
You can pretend all that’s real but unless he likes your comment it’s not the truth in all honesty most artists don’t like people picking apart their work they would like people to take their art at face value.

The part about "Your god has turned his back on you" also could have double meaning about how he then states the tracks only moving forward, he could be saying that he IS god especially because as he is moving forward his back literally is turned towards Lightning at this point.
Thomas voice could be described as eerie, solemn,,soothing and seductive. The kind of voice to tempt yo into giving yourself to him even knowing of the danger of taking the deal with such a fearsome inter dimensional creature.

Did anyone else notice the tree in Lightning’s dream? On the right side, the tree is full of lush orange leaves and on the left it’s completely barren. The right side points to the tunnel Thomas emerged from and the left points to the tunnel he exits. Could the tree’s leaves symbolize the souls taken be Thomas?
I'd assume it it explains how Lightning would feel at first if he took Thomas's offer and the effects that would follow afterwards. On the other hand it can also be a sign "Go back to your former life and live as you had for it is good for you or risk damnation and emptiness"
This was such a moving cinematic experience. There are no words to come close to describe how on the edge of my seat I was sitting. This video is legitamitely one of the best story based videos I've ever seen even tho the premise is Thomas scares lightning McQueen shitless, and yet you've found a way to make it so deeply horrifying that I myself felt isolated and cold while watching it. Normally the whole *”Sell me your soul”* cliche is just a cliche, but this feels like it has weight to it.

The dreamworld has a tree that's living on the right and dead on the left. Thomas appears from the right tunnel and leaves through the left. You comes into existence from the darkness of the tunnel, living life on the open tracks where you can actually see, only to return back into the darkness when you die.
McQueen being placed in the center of birth and death implies his status of being alive. He was being asked by Thomas whether he wanted to stay where he was, or be taken along with him to the left tunnel, death.
Amazing analysis
Thomas was trying to fool Lightning into thinking that there was anything but darkness where he was going. That beyond the left tunnel was the best things the world has to offer.

This is definitely one of meat canyons best work by far, i had goosebumps the entire video and the story is told so well to make you unbelievably uneasy. The way the dream segment is executed really adds to it, and lightnings description makes it all the more terrifying. Thomas being a grim reaper type character in this short is definitely funny on paper but meat canyon executed it so well that it fits so perfectly as a train demon. I would love to see a continuation of this story because it just does everything right with the horror, maybe in a sequel we can see lightnings friends encounter the train like sally or maybe a prequel like doc getting confronted by thomas, something like that format. But, this is definitely my favorite meat canyon short of all time.

I think he got popular and a lot of people focus on his different art styles and weird stories, like jawbreaker which made him famous. But honestly the greatest thing about him is his astonishing story telling abilities
I love how MeatCanyon make comedy-horror. Like here, where Thomas is uttering on about mortality, wishes of all one could ever want, etc. But then Mater is just being an American stereotype. It’s the perfect balance so that you can get short breaks from the disturbance. I just love it.
Both the comedy and humour are elevated by the contrast, they don't stay for too long and end up running into the ground.

Unlike the insignificance of the characters being cars in the original series, there is a purpose these characters aren’t human. Thomas represents unalterable destiny. The tracks are fate. He has seen everything the tracks have to offer, and while he presents knowledge of the universe, his offer is meaningless. Lightning would only be able to travel the same tracks Thomas has traveled for eons. That’s why Thomas offers an empty deal to Lightning. Lightning is a car. He has control over where he can go, by extent, his future. Thomas wishes he could control his fate like McQueen could, but cannot. He is limited to the unalterable tracks of the eternal hell he’s chosen for himself.
Edit: A lot of you take the “train tracks” thing to be literal, and that Thomas did not need such tracks to reach Lightning and Mater. The tracks, physically, do not exist. The tracks represent unmovable fate and existence as a whole. That means Thomas can go anywhere, but as he has seen everything, he has nowhere new to explore. No new feelings to experience. It’s possible Thomas is a dark reflection of Lightning that was offered the same deal by some unknown entity, but unlike McQueen, took the bargain and sold his soul. He is now limited to the world he knows everything about, but is burdened by the knowledge of a limited, boring existence.

Thomas could very well have experienced everything existence had to offer, but is no longer given the privilege of a blissful ignorance to the limited world he now knows by heart. I believe the “selling Mater’s soul” part is a bit of a stretch, but at the same time, there’s no proof against it as far as I can see.

The right side points to the tunnel Thomas emerged from and the left points to the tunnel he exits. Could the tree’s leaves symbolize the souls taken be Thomas?

This was such a moving cinematic experience. There are no words to come close to describe how on the edge of my seat I was sitting. This video is legitamitely one of the best story based videos I've ever seen even tho the premise is Thomas scares lightning McQueen shitless, and yet you've found a way to make it so deeply horrifying that I myself felt isolated and cold while watching it.
