I got an 02 Tundra with the 4.7. My dad bought it at the end of 01. I’d prefer the gen 2 5.7 because trucks deserve eight cylinders. This will still last a decent amount of time, but a truck is neutered without a V8. Just my opinion. It may have more power, but an off road truck needs to sound mean too.
Thanks for watching. Yes, the V8 had a real truck growl. The new one pumps engine noise in through the speakers. I had a customer have us turn it off. I’m sure that Toyota wouldn’t put anything out that wouldn’t meet their standards. I’m sure we will have preowned Tundra’s with a V8 to be had.
