For $55 grand, I would buy it over the rest of the competition. The slide down window had always been one of my favorite features with the Tundra. For the money, not sure if there’s a better buy out there.
Got one fully loaded (big screen/camera/mirror/power outlets/heated seats and wheel). The only thing it doesn’t have from a limited is folding mirrors, AC seats, soft touch dash, pano-roof. Came in at 63,900
I’m in my mid 50’s and WAS looking for a Tundra. Even at 90k a year and no bills other than the basic ones most everyone has……it’s looking everyday like I will never be able to purchase a new Tundra. They are all just to outrageously priced. I’m now looking for one 5 or 8 years old with around 100k miles. I’m figuring buy a good condition one like that put another 5k in it going from front bumper to the rear with a white glove and repair or replacing anything in question. At about 10k a year I drive…..and a Tundra capable of reaching 300k…..I’m good for many years. And at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a new one..
Ben you are spot on about the pricing. Plus you can add leveling, bigger tires, custom wheels and it’s still cheaper than a stock similarly equipped F150 XLT.
Great review Ben! I picked up an almost identical SR5 TRD Off Road last month. In a time when truck prices have gone through the roof I find the SR5 TRD OR to be a good value. That twin turbo v6 is fun too.
Just bought this a few days ago in double. I'm used to the taco double cab and I wanted the 6.5 bed. Great value. No market adjustment , couple thousand off MSRP .
My 07 Tundra 5.7 4x4 , 6 speed tranny has 297k. Never left us stranded. It hauls a 35 ft TT, it hunts, it hauls firewood, it two tracks all day long. It idles all day and never complain s.
this is the one i would buy if and when i get out of my tacoma, the issue is toyota has no custom ordering and toyota dealerships (east coast, NJ) in a 150 mile radius have some stupid market adjustment price
@@avez6779 honestly, it depends on your needs and what you value. i get 18/19 city mpg in my tacoma and if that’s anything, the tundra gets the same (from what i’ve read through threads via reddit). the tacoma also is a 21 gallon fuel tank (at least mine is, not sure if you can get bigger). guess what? the tundra’s fuel tank? 22 gallons. my argument, once i realized 2&2, had been if i get the same numbers as a full size truck, i might as full drive a full size truck. (sorry for the long response, but this dawned on me rather recently and i’m in a predicament of whether to keep my tacoma after lease or trade for a tundra because it doesn’t make sense numbers wise)
We got our 2023 tundra SR5 TRD off-road crewmax 4x4 in lunar rock 2 weeks ago, we love it, sure it didnt have the TRD premium package but it's still a great truck, ours was 53k here in California, i dont like the chrome around the grill so much but its kinda growing on me, and as mentioned in the comments it does look better in person, im 6'2" and i have to hop up over the seat bolstering, also FYI if you modify the suspension in any way your warranty is voided even if you purchase a lift kit from a toyota dealership and even if they install it. As for towing i was able to move our new 10k lb RV no sweat, this thing is a beast and every truck that sees us on the highway wants a piece. 🫠
Alot of complaints about wind noise coming from the front doors in the reviews I read. Have you experienced any of that in your time with these trucks? Thank You. Great video as always.
Ive seen some Limited trims with the iForce Max added onto them. Not sure if there special orders but man, if I was still looking for one, that wouldve been the trim to get
I have a 23 platinum hybrid. And my biggest complaint is the interior space. It's hideous. There is nowhere to put anything. The hard plastic scratches really easy. I am a contractor I can't even put my bidding book in the center console. This is not a road trip truck. I'm 5'11 I barely fit in the truck. No storage anywhere. Almost impossible to eat lunch in the truck. The engine sounds like a Scandia go-kart. The truck feels like it's going to die every time I stop at a stop sign. But the worst part is the mpgs fraud. I really hope someone files a class action lawsuit against the lies they claimed. I bought the truck based on the mpg rating completely unacceptable. This is my 10th Toyota and by far the worst. I've loved all my other Toyotas. The lack of a home button on the infotainment Center is just completely unbelievable...and the suspension and Driving Experience is harsh. It struggles to go up hill. Not the platinum grill is chiping off. The windows.are really load. The dealer ship refuses to fix the broken phone charger and windows.
I have a Hybrid Limited and I am suppose to have from 18 city to 23mpg on the highway and the best I can see is only 14.7mpg. The other issue is the squeaky noise coming from the brakes, by far the worse and the only bad Toyota experience.
I want to like the Tundra but just can't. Out of all 1/2 ton trucks the GMC AT4 looks the absolute best. Actually looks like a "truck" and not a luxury vehicle.
So many say how ugly the tundra looks. Of course that subjective. Once you see it in person it looks pretty good imo. I have a white 2020 and a new white Tundra was parked right next to me. It looked substantially better to me and most of the other manufacturers. I’ve also seen some modded up new Tundra’s driving around and those are really eye catching
I do agree that in person they look better. Something about video makes them not look as attractive. However i think the biggest that makes them look better is color matching that chrome piece around the grill. Makes it stand out less. I personally still can't get over how huge it looks. I was driving in front of one a few days ago and it still looked huge to my eyes but if i had to get a new tundra i would definitely color match it to reduce the appearance of the size of the grill. Otherwise i think it's great 👍🏼
No dealer is selling these at 55k, maybe 60-65 after they mark them up. The limited and above are 70-80 k . You might get a certified used 22’ for that price only. But most of them have low miles, because people are trading them in like crazy. Go to auto trader and look if you don’t believe me. I’m just assuming people aren’t that happy with them. I say they are just to big and clunky for any serious off roading, that’s what Tacoma’s are for. Just my 2 cents!
I’ve had 3 of them There pretty bullet proof. The one I have now tho is a 2019 so it still has the v8. Not sure how I feel about the v6 w turbos but seems like that’s the direction everyone is goin? My 2019 only has 40,000mi on it so I’ll be hanging on to it for a while lol. Definitely do pretty good hauling too. Lots of firewood and stone I haul w it
I really hate that side rear bumper, is just one large plastic piece. Im glad the new tacoma did not did that. Also that hood is too long. The okder was short and chubky, like a pitbull muzzle. I still feel the interior is nice.
I really want to like the looks of it. But that grill, and it has way too much GMC/Chevy influence. They are priced right, that’s for sure. If the Titan stays around after 2024,and keeps the V8,I’ll be on another Titan.
My mother worked for Nissan as a manager. The titan has such a bad reputation that the dealership she worked for wouldn't even take those on trade, or buy at auction. And the minute you drive them off the lot, they lose half of their value
You talk so fast. It’s not very relaxing to listen to. You’re not on the clock or getting paid per words/minute. It is a good channel but this aspect makes it less enjoyable Ben.

I love the look of the exterior! But I don't like how they blacked everything out but left a big chrome bumper on the back.
I agree the SR5 regulars have no chrome but heck love the rest can't always get everything you want in life.
So lots of options for the price.
Ben you are spot on about the pricing. Plus you can add leveling, bigger tires, custom wheels and it’s still cheaper than a stock similarly equipped F150 XLT.
Which in my eyes is really sad. I grew up a ford kid but I'm looking at literally every other brand except ram
@@averagejoe1971you also dont like their ram logo? 😅
F150’s are like $12k off sticker tho.
@@MrPland1992 yes that’s my point

Ben my thoughts exactly value hence why I bought my SR5 TRD Off-road. The big 3 were only more money, not more features.

The msrp on this truck is realistic for all u get. Ford and ram msrp is 10k plus to high for equivalent truck.

I got one same color White TRD off road 2023 (dealer modified it side step bar , rear step easy to climb , black cover hood etc.

Hopefully this year I’ll have one of this 🙏
Best option along with the TRD Sport with off road packages all color matching with black out accents.
Not a fan of the chrome bumpers. I’d throw some off-road aftermarket ones. Other than that I’d consider this over a new F-150 for my next truck.
I am
that is one nice truck, i own a 2021 tacoma sr5.......i may one day upgrade to a tundra... kool upload.
This is the one I was waiting on man, knew you'd come through.
I wish they would just make the big screen standard. The small screen isn’t even worse using in my opinion.
Buy where? Not here in AZ. There isn't any. You need to order the Toyota you want and wait months for delivery.
This is the one.. and I'm sure I'll get one in 10 years when I can afford it. Lol my 06 tacoma will have to do for now.
I was thinking about it until I realized that I don’t want replace 2 turbos when they go bad in 60k miles
They finally stopped marking these ones up. I got my eyes on an SR5 in Blueprint with the TRD Sport package for under $37K
Platinum is the best trim if you dont plan on going off road
Why did the remove the v8, just why?
Cause they hate us lol
@@Yakomoe LMAO!
I noticed too that the f150s are like 10k+. What on earth is ford thinking? Good thing I wanted a Tundra anyways

Cut that grill in like the new Tacoma and I’ll add it to my list with the F150. Wait, no auto-start?? 🤔
Good review Ben, and Toyota is a reliable product, however can you get this truck in a V8 engine.
5.7 V8 has been discontinued for 22-23 and beyond
I think it’s a good value also with pick ups being so expensive.
Ben, do a review on the SX package tundra next
That’s a steal, especially crew cab 4x4
Wireless charging?
Just wish they would have made it with an Aluminum body. I live in the rust belt and a steel body is just a non starter.

You guys should see how these tundras look in person while being a little lifted with off road tired. My goodness.
Rather get the limited tundra for air conditioning seats living here in Georgia for the hot days.
I see your pushing the vehicle are you also pushing the MSRP price with the back up adjustable market value that's wrong
Can you do a double cab tundra next?
I can buy one of these or a limited for the same price.... any thoughts?
If you don’t mind the chrome, get the limited. Has some standards that the SR5 doesn’t have
I just signed on an SR5 off road fully loaded and they deleted the chrome that comes with the off road from the factory. That sticker was 63,816

For the money the Titan is the way to go. V-8 power and longevity. It does the job without being overly complex.
Not according to consumer reports. Tons of lemon titans out there.
