Best way to eat kielbasa and kraut onions and taters.👍💗nice job, in my 80’s and only way to be efficient in kitchen, one pot or fry pan. Really nice. Job youngster!

I'm in my 70's, this was a monthly meal for a family of 8 (with hot dogs)! I am making this dish coming weekend for my neighbors and hoping they will enjoy it. My Mom and all of us girls used two skillets when preparing this meal, but I like your one skillet method. That's what I'm using this weekend. I have never preboiled fried potatoes before so this will be something new for me. Thank you for this video!!

that's one way of doing it...I just fry the potatoes and onions for a bit, add the kielbasa, fry for a bit and then add the rinsed , drained sauer kraut, salt and pepper and low fry for 15 minutes or so...sometimes I will add Swiss cheese at the end..and let it melt and this meal is so good..all in one pan..

The way I do it is:
A big kettle, (soften potatoes first) about half a bag of peeled, cut (chucked) potatoes, once softened, toss in cans of Kraut (juice and all) stick of butter, about 4 or so cut onions, a lot of Black pepper toss in a few uncut ring baloney's cover and cook.
When done, put kraut on plate cut ring baloney in half set on plate with some ketchup on the side cut baloney up dunk into the ketchup and have some of the kraut. Also, with some bread and butter or toast with butter or garlic toast and Milk to drink.

Large cube & fry potatoes until half done. Rinse, drain & put on top of potatoes, add thinly sliced onions on top of kraut. Cut sausage into large rounds or smaller hunks place on top of onions. Place lid on pan & simmer slowly for a while. Toward the end, I add 1-2 cans of drained green beans. Replace lid & continue steaming until flavors have mingled, everything is hot & done to taste. Seasonings I generally add with potatoes( watch the salt or no salt). I like the taste of green beans with this. You can use canned, fresh or frozen. The beans add color, they balance the starch & add an extra flavor.

I like doing the ring as is (do not cut) put it in with kraut with the juice and chopped up onion and taters and kielbasa or ring bologna in with it and a stick of butter cover and cook that. Stir here and there.
Take the ring out cut it into pieces and use a fork to poke with and dunk it into ketchup and down the hatch while eating the kraut with the onions and taters Milk as a chaser.

Usually what I like to do, is cross score them, grill them until they open up, and serve them with red cabbage, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, maybe a salad and some DIJON MUSTARD,like the EUROPEANS do.,and I LOVE MY SAUSAGE, ALL KINDS, as I work in a COMMERCIAL KITCHEN for many years, making all kinds of different foods or CUISINE, especially in NYC, I even know how to make SAUSAGE, from regular to veterinarian to seafood, you just have to understand that general rules, plus the casing. Not hard.
