    Two things I learn from these skills test is 1. In a real world situation you don't lose points if you get out and look as many time you want too, so be safe than sorry. 2. Skills takes time to develop. Good luck getting your CDL and drive safe.

      Update: i got it rescheduled for July 28th I passed my inspection but I did some honest mistakes on my skills so I failed it unfortunately but it’s okay I have my 2nd test on august 15th I’m gonna go to the school and practice a bit more before my 2nd test

    Thank you for this! I test this Friday and I haven’t been able to practice the new skills yet and this was a huge relief to see it being done. Doesn’t look too bad but definitely will see when I go to my refresher this week

    when doing the forward off set, if you have back dual-tires; do you need both tires in between the 4-foot mark or only one?

    Very good information. On the reverse offset,if the student backs over the rear ( three feet line) it’s an encroachment- 2 points. The tester blows the whistle and the driver will move forward. We had this problem in Maryland until the DMV contacted the tester. Rules are very clear in the tester handbook. Are you a tester. Sure sounds like you are. Third party tester.     Also does the Incab/brake test stay the same

      You need to memorize the entire truck. However, less items. In cap and airbrake test stays the same. Which school are you with?

      Each location has their benefit, and all depends on who is your examiner! For sure Fontana's road is wider!

    What’s about parts in the pretrip inspections? Did they removed or add any?

      In cab and air brake stays the same. You will inspection the entire truck, AB and C. However, less item. Which school are you with?

    On the way back do I have to drive through the 4 feet space with my wheels or can I be outside

      when you are doing the 4th test, you do not need to cross 4 feet again. Remember, all sides are consider as wall. Good luck!

    That's good. Too many of us were not trained properly. By the time this test is over the truck and the driver will be worn out.

    I have my test in Lancaster on July 25th. Do you know if I’ll be taking the test in the new or old way?

      You can go to Lancaster CDL DMV or your own trucking school for clarification. Majority of CDL DMV already begin on July 10, 2023. Some will start in August.

      These people are from DMV examiners and local truck training schools. Regarding to new rules for California DMV Class A and Class B.

      Yes. However, DMV uses Reverse Offset Backing.

      As long as you are over 18 years old, you can drive a truck!
