    Thanks for the amazing info, Gene. I have a test coming soon in July in Mountain View, California. I already have a class B license with air brakes. I need passenger endorsements for the bus I'll be driving, which has a maximum capacity of 15 with the driver. Do you have any tips on the driving skills test or recommendations? Thanks again!

      Yes. However, you should go there to confirm, if is in effect or not. Eventually, every DMV in CA (possible exclude couple of the dmv) will be required to use the new format.

      You have to have Commercial Learner’s Permit (written test) in order to go take your test. After July 10, then these new pretrip and skills will apply. This is for California CDL DMV. Some California CDL DMV might not take effect until August 2023.

    Hey boss so on the Booklet it says “ be prepared to do this Inspection on Any axle On the truck” so the checklist obviously only says Steering axle . Why on the booklet it says you need to perform inspection on any axle but checklist only says Steering axle ? It’s page 11M.5.2 And one more thing In the tires and rims sections Page 11m-8 Top left corner it says Following items must be inspected on each axle ? But on the checklist it only asks for Steering axle ? I’m a bit confused sir do I trust the booklet and go through all axles or just the checklist which only says steering axles . I’d really appreciate an answer

    • @danielGee03
      @danielGee03 Год назад +1

      11m-8 is inspection for the tires and rims . So booklet says on all axles but clearly on checklist it only says steering axle ? I’m a bit confused

      @danielGee03 Год назад +2

      This is for class A

    • @genefeng
      @genefeng  Год назад +2

      This new format is new to everyone. Including the examiner. Some items will depend upon the examiner. Gray area. Therefore, before your exam, you can ask the examiner for clarification on your questions. If they don't want to answer your question, then just say them to make sure you get the score. Remember: This new checklist covers class, A, B, and C!

    • @genefeng
      @genefeng  Год назад +1

      Regardless which axle you need to perform, you should be able to point out any axles: SSBW for front axle, and SBW for rear axles! Steering, Suspension, Brake, and Wheels. Remember, you as a future truck driver will be performing this inspection every single time before driving off your truck! Your safety is your top priority!. Check your truck as if you are going to drive it to New York! Do you just check your front axle or all axles?

      @@edwardmoreno964 My personal suggestion is for you to go to your local CDL DMV, and ask them, so that you will get accurate answers. For our area, their point system have changed, so each DMV might work differently. For example, some DMV will still keep old test method and give trucking school more time to prepare. Others CDL DMV will keep new method.
