- LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY DO A CLASS B CDL PRE TRIP INSPECTION TO PASS YOUR TEST!!! BROUGHT TO YOU BY, MY CDL BUDDY, BADGER CDL, MILWAUKEE CDL INSTITUTE. MILWAUKEECDL.COM
Hey! I just wanted to say I got my class B cdl today. This video was the only one I watched (several times). It prepared me very well. My instructor said I did an excellent job on the walk-around and in cab inspection. Thank you for this video!
Also...I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up in the middle of the night muttering, "not broken, not cracked, on secure..."😂
Thanks, just past my B test. This video was very helpful. Michigan
What school did you go to?
Congratulations
I’ve checked my phone. It’s not broken, not cracked, and it’s on secure. 👍🏽 Lol!
Thanks for this vid! It’s really helpful in my studies. Great work!!!
Right? 😂
Great video,I have a remark about the air brake in cab part. I believe you also have to show the air tank will build from 85 to 100 psi in 45 seconds or less and that the air governor kicks out when the tanks are full around 125 psi. I appreciated your video my friend!
Where would you put that in order with the brake test that he showed?
@Will Mayr I would assume after depleting the tank showing the spring brakes work for kicking out brake at low air level
my boss would not be ok with me taking 30-45 min every morning to do a pre check lol
I watched a few videos but ended up watching this one a few times for its content and length. It served as a great review before my test. I did not have to do a tug test on my parking brake but I discussed it. Also I watched the air come up after the test but my tester moved on and started talking about the next part while the air came up I only confirmed the cutout before proceeding. I passed my test on a class B dump truck and the drivers side of the truck was randomly selected by the computer in NY. Instructor wanted me to put my hands on everything and explain what I was inspecting and what for. I led with an overall approach to the truck to look for leaning indicating broken suspension, flat tire, or shifted load, and things hanging or puddles. Then I proceeded from the front door to the back of the truck noting everything unique to the dump truck as well such as tailgate hinges, locks, door hardware, tarp motor and arm, no holes in the box, nothing loose on the tailgate. This video was a great help. A minor note for the road test that may be unique to my situation but the tester never said a thing about me floating the whole way thru the test. Not saying it's right, or that it's how it should be done but my friend letting me learn on his new truck refused to let me try to double clutch on his truck. I skipped learning it and I am sure his transmission suffered and even though I had 2 terrible downshifts it wasn't a problem possibly because I aced everything else thru study and didn't have any issues handling the size of the truck thru maneuvers. I was stressed that my NY manual said to always double clutch and I didn't want to get disqualified. I used the clutch when I needed to get out of a jam and did everything else by the book. Move your head so your tester knows that you are checking your mirrors and traffic.
If you don't mind me asking where you working at in NY.
@@traviscarter1023 this was Albany NY
@CF-wj5hc Yeah I noticed it's alot of work out in that area. I had a feeling you was out there are you still doing class B out there by the way.
@@traviscarter1023 so far all I did was class B because I only had a dump truck for my test. Also my buddy was strict about not using the clutch in his truck and I was comfortable all along handling the trucks size but the shifting, engine sound, clutch, was so different than anything I had ever shifted, it was all I could do to get thru it in a manual transmission. Good thing is I don't have the restriction so I can take the class A in an automatic now. Glad I did it that way. I probably could have studied the pre trip and taken it right away in an automatic. Good luck to you if you are taking yours. Get all the points you can in the pre-trip, it would stink to make all that effort and miss it on a technicality.
@CF-wj5hc OK I well be watching these videos on how to drive a stick shift. And practice with the plunger. And do a bunch of practice test videos. I'm also waiting on my birth certificate to come in. My boss also told me to get with him to start naming off the parts under the hood for the pre trip to get better at that .
I watched this probably 25x and aced my Ga. CDL test. Very thorough and clear. Thanks for a wonderful start with a great career choice. Driving a concrete mixer now and loving it
Thank you. The only comment needed. 😂😂
Dude, I literally wanted to drive concrete truck or dump truck. 2nd day in school
Fantastic career in mixers, make sure you learn the Smith System. Stay safe @@RomaniaMoto
Can you give me some insight? I’m studying for my GA class b
Glad I found this video, as I spent the nearly the past year working toward the CDL. Was perfect for me as our company truck is a very similar Freightliner. Memorizing the inspection in your video helped me pass the inspection on the first try. Thanks very much!!!
its a struggle for me ill be testing in an 04 westernstar was a semi is now used as a liquid and granulated fertilizer and chemical truck its a big difference but i suppose other than the instrument pannels and buttons its generally the same. hope your career is moving along well.
This is insane we need to learn all this😮 great work teacher
Excellent video. Been using this for reference for my class B class and it really has helped 👍 11:02 11:02
Great JOB!

Amazing job perfect paced..thank you
If I had a nickel every time he says, "Not broken, not cracked, on secure", I'd have more money than Elon
Very Nice teacher, thanks.
Helpful and very straightforward. Thank you.
The proper name for the item checked at 15:27 is spring hangers. Besides that, it`s a great tutorial.
thank you this is very helpful
If it helps hard parts metal not cracked worn or broken soft like rubber etc are not leaking. anything with nuts bolts say it has no missing nuts or bolts or cotter pins.
Tires ABC abrasions bulges or cuts
Breaks DOG Dirt oil or grease
For your lights state the obvious not broken missing clean & the color
This is the most annoying part of the test belive me so do whatever helps good luck to you guys
I think in New York State, you have to do the whole damn thing
Tank u very much for your full explanation 👍
not broken
not cracked
on secure
Idk if the other side of that frame was on secure. Never checked smh 😂😂😂😂
Good video question that’s any updates on the test or the same answers
Good job
For the very last brake test, the truck had to be in neutral, correct?
Thanks guys for everything I really appreciate it
Is it ok to just say 3 piece steering linkage instead of of Pittman arm and drag link?
Should you block the wheels before releasing all the air out of them. Also you didn’t inspect the front passenger side wheel.
Sometimes it's not required because the tire was mentioned on the driver side
You don’t do governor unload stage????
What about Choking your wheels
Thanks man I really think this go help me out
Hello! Help me! ) Why do different teachers use different words when showing inspection? Everyone has their own version of the text! Some speak briefly, others add their various details! Is there a document somewhere that defines what I say on the exam? Or is it also a test for oratory? Can you perform a poetic version? )
For example:
You: Headlights. They're not broken not cracked unsecure clean and clear.
Another: The headlights are proper clear color, clean, not cracked, undamaged and have no moisture inside.
Another: The headlights are clean, properly mounted and secure, not cracked, bent, or broken, and not fogged out.
Another: My headlights high beams and low beams clearing color, securely mounted, not damage, are broken in good condition.
? )
That’s what I’m wondering, Can I just say my headlights are clean, they aren’t cracked or broken. They look secure and are in good condition.
So let me get this straight…we are supposed to triple check all the lights? You checked them already and then decided to recheck it when you got into the cab. As if you didn’t just check all your lights before. This is confusing.
Do you have to point to earthing in this specific order?
No but it helps to memorize the order
Do we have to check the rear tires on both sides or just any side.
As far I I know 1 side is good
Thank you so much!
Not broken not cracked on secure
😂
This is a fantastic video thank you. Here in Cali we have (COALS)
Cut in
Cut out
Applied
Leakage
Service
i pass my class b test yesterday NYC
Did you use the check list for your pre trip test.
Basically did this to a T and failed due to not performing the recharging airbrake check to test governour cut out.
what state did you take your test

I just love how he keeps saying no illegal welds. Truck drivers don’t know what illegal welds are and if you do as a truck driver find a better paying career 😂
Should be NO welds. Any welds on rims or drum IS illegal
What's a good suggestion ?
I thought with class b you couldn't drive vehicles that are attached to a trailer...🤔
It’s a box, not a trailer.
If anyone thinks this is a trailer and not a box you don't need a cdl😂
@@scumbagtk7196 ok Sherlock
You forgot "CLEAR" when opening and closing the trucks hood. Just saying.
This is a lot to remember 😶
Since when is a coolant reservoir or water pump ' unique'
😂
Its unique to one side of the truck
On Secure!!!!!!!, not unsecure.
He doesn't say unsecure, listen more
Hello guys. Where is this school ?
