You know what I learned about that saying, that it is very true. When you start to test they want you to do that saying to see if you have knowledge about the truck in the parts. If you do not dig docu points and you may not get your license.. so just be aware to instantly do that doing your t pre-trip inspection.
This video helped me tremendously. The trooper that evaluated me had to stop me several times because of all the detail I was going through. Passed it with flying colors!
Well...I Passed my exam for Class A CDL whew! I was soooo nervous but I did it. I worked hard to get this ya'll you hear me?! But thanks to this Badger CDL School and there caring instructors, I was able to pass successfully. Thank you CDL Buddyvforbyour videos because I looked at them very often. Good luckv to anyone going for any class cdl's, you can do it! Good Luck 🎉
This one video was more useful than the instructor I paid 4k to learn with. Guy would literally watch me make a mistake reciting pre-inspection and do nothing to correct me until 5-10 minutes later and ask me what I did wrong! If I knew I wouldn't of make the mistake to begin with! With this I have inspection down but I feel like I wasted money with this school on shoddy instructors.
Almost 21 (February) Getting my cdl permit in the next couple weeks starting school in a week applied for fafsa to cover but it wouldn’t cover cost for a certification class got accepted for the penalt grant instead now just looking for a place to stay closer to the school as I don’t have a car and won’t be renewing my lease for this reason and I’m in a tight financial recovery situation. looking for a room to rent to save up some money till I can get to a place that will do paid training/ side job anywhere else. Been studying everyday the past 2 weeks and have passed all practice exams CANT wait to get on the road with a new career path that I can reliably and comfortably commit to as I’ve always struggled with job security and commitment. Thankful for all these videos thankful for the people who want to put people on the road to improve their futures(financially) and in every other way. Can’t wait till I can put a downpayment on a plot of land and call it home while living in a camper till I build my house, looking forward to the day all the work will finally pay off.
Best video I could find explaining exactly what you need to know. Thank you very much! I was worried the most on the pre- trip, this video easily helped me pass 1st try. CDL class A, no restrictions. 👍👏 Thanks again!
well explained, with clear and precise information. straight to the point....some schools instructors should come to youtube and learn how to be specific.....
Currently being trained with this CDL training school they are very thorough, patient and do everything they can to ensure you pass your test for CDL's. Great school.
I start badger CDL training tomorrow this month on the 9th. Am scared shitless. You can’t have notes with you? All this has to be remembered in your head.? Am done🤦🏽♂️
Thank you for this video. I did notice that when you mentioned the Brake Pads & lining you didn't mention that it was free of any grease/oils on both the pads/lining and rotors. I was dinged for that on my 1st pretrip fail. I'm currently on my way to re-test today. NOTE: Florida standards might be different also.
@@retropickups2000 yeah man, I mentioned in the pre-trip exam that the brake drums and lining were free of debris and grease/oils. But he marked it wrong because I didn't also specifically say that the break shoes were also free from grease/oils etc
Getting ready to start school in January and looking towards to it . This video helps with what to look for and yes I took notes this is very helpful!!
Me too, gonna get to swift in a month or so, gotta get the pretrip down, talk to a lot of old timers, they all say the checks are important of dents, cracks and leaks, but the most hardest parts are the air breaks. Wish I could do a pretrip on a some trucks as practice before I get to the real test. Gonna ride with swift, so this is gonna be hectic, anxieties and awesome at the same time.
My wife just asked me was I feeling well. I said, "Yes I'm fine." Then she said, "Then why in the heck are you walking thru the house saying, 'not broken, not cracked, unsecure??' " 😂😂😂
It is, for sure. Break it down to sections and concentrate on each one separately until you feel confident with each. They will soon flow nicely together for you.
Great video. 💯🎯. One of the best one’s I’ve seen. I’m a trainer and this would be good to have as a reference. Is there any to get the full transcript for this so I could print it out ?
What State manual did use for this video? Illinois looks for a little more information in some places. Also in Illinois, there's been recent changes removing the need to mention items like the alternator, water pump, slack adjusters, push rods and a couple of other things. My pre-trip inspection instructor said that the State has dumb downed the outside portion of the inspection. I'm thankful. Maybe prior to making changes, it was observed that dummies like myself needed the revisions.
Hey class A is very very easy man the only thing you need to really learn from a class b to a class A, is working with the trailer and that's it. I'm telling you you will get it.
A lot of drivers overthink it. Ultimately, they just want to know if you know what you’re looking for. If it holds air or fluid…check for leaks. If it’s made of metal then it can’t be torn, bulging, or frayed so it must be cracked, bent, or broken. Think things through and don’t let them rush you.
I feel like you didn't touch on some things like for instance when you opened the hood you didn't use 3 point contact . Youre suppose to put your knee on the bumper while both hands on the hood .
The CDLs is good. The guy that makes these videos I have met him. . He is a instructor at the same trucking school ( Badger ) that I am receiving my training for. This past week I have failed my Road test to get my CDL license because I forgot to applying my 4way flashers because a pedestrian was on the side of the road. This is one of the major violations that will automatically fail you, no matter how good you do on the road test. So all of you just be aware of this mistake that I made, and I was actually two blocks away to receive my license. So now I have to wait another week to retake my road test again.
No mention of ID lights before or after mentioning Clearance lights 🤔 Maybe its not a part of his states specifications to mention. Plus I have been taught the drive tires have a hub oil seal and not an axel seal. Maybe just a discrepancy in nomenclature per state.
It's a lot of information for sure. I did think the same thing. But I started to get the hang of it after my 2nd week of repeating the same information over and over to myself and with others.
I have been watching million videos and I have school that I am attempting to but no one is telling me that what to do at the first place when examiner make you sit in the cab at the beginning of your Pre-trip exam ??? I got the exam my examiner made me sit in cab I started talking about incab inspection and than air break inspection and I failed why ? I did everything correct what could be the issues that I did wrong ?
I got more out of this one video than I did paying $4200 learning automatic at this CDL school in NY. I feel scammed. BADGERCDL should consider creating schools across the country with competent instructors like the one in this video. The guy I "learned" and I use the word loosely would literally watch me make a mistake reciting inspection procedure and do nothing to correct me for like 10 minutes on end. Basically wasting time out of my sessions. Then ask me what I did wrong. If I knew what I did wrong I wouldn't of made the mistake to begin with! Some scam schools are out there. Do your due diligence and research schools before enrolling.
The entire pre-trip inspection to get your CDL is garbage, they should give you a real check list and actually have you do a real pre-trip inspection instead of just having you sound like a machine. God forbid you forget to say Not Cracked and they fail you for one slip of the mouth. Not to mention that certain third party testers don't even have their CDL but are quick to fail you.
There are several things like lights clean and clear and naming functions. Running parts together and not being specific to the part. Georgia is real nit picky about details especially looking to see if you know what your talking about rather than just memorizing what to say especially catch alls. Properly mounted not bent broken cracked or damaged. Not missing any hardware. Not cut frayed dry rotted etc. The key to the pretrip is doing it properly three times a day for two weeks. By then you will ace it. Just get it right and understand what your checking and what your checking it for.

Do you actually have to enunciate all the things your are checking ?
Yes😮
Your not only knowledgeable but a teacher too
You forgot two things:front tires can not be recapped and parking brakes have to be released to check slack adjuster and push rod.
@MyCDLBUDDY thanks for your teaching I learned a lot. Much appreciated 🙏

It seems like that phrase “not broken, not cracked, on secure” is a big thing to say
Very important to say.
BIGGEST 3 thingz 2 say
I noticed when you were checking the trailer brakes that it had a steering axle.. what a novelty.. also, it wasn't broken or cracked
