Awesome video. I thought I was told you have to bring an actual air pressure gauge to the test and actually test each tires pressure. Do you know if that is true? Thanks in advance!
air pressure gauge is for people who has limited english level. If the examiner ask, just take it out and show the examiner how you will check the tire pressure. =)
Awesome video! Thank you Gene for making it easier 🙏 is there any way to get a copy of the paperwork that you used in this video?please
Feel free to email me for further information. genefeng2005@gmail.com
i like how you show us where and what you talking a bout
Yes, this is exactly how you need to show to the examiner! Point to the product and tell the examiner! =)
Is this the same for class b?
Are you referring to Class B or Class BP? If is class B, then you don't need to say coupling and trailer. If is BP, then please wait for my future video on BP outside/ exterior inspection.
Will be nice to follow the checklist provided by DMV, here you go by the old style. DMV says it clear on the new instructions the rear of the tractor is not needed because is replaced by the rear of the trailer now. I will also add trailer frame with bridges and floor, abs side light, fifth wheel platform and bolts, locking jaws, steering column and boot, wheel bumps under 1", mirrors under 10", from the cabin, no illegal welds, to be mention. Anyway real thanks for your efforts and instructive videos !
Yes, great advice! =)
Hey, I got a question for you is it the same for Manuel for the pre trip or you got to name more parts
Same words for auto or manual. Might be at different place.
Is it the same for Gardena dmv as well ?
Yes, they are going to be or already in effect soon.
Hey Gene! This video helped me pass my Pre-trip Inspection with flying colors. Thank you!
That’s awesome to hear! 😊😊
@@genefengcan you do the outside pre trip on the class b box truck
@@jaelyncane5879 for class B, you just skip trailer and that’s it. Everything else is the same.
with a list helps me a lot
I am glad this is helpful! =)
Question. Are we supposed to say Why we are inspecting each component? I believe in the new dmv handbook its a new requirement. Thank you in advance!
You can check "Commercial driver's license handbook Supplement for Modernized Version". You ONLY need to say exactly what they are looking for.

Sure! Feel free to email me at genefeng2005@gmail.com
I'll setup VIP private group, so that we can discuss further.
where can I get a link to that paperwork with the inspections
You should get them from your trucking school, and follow the way they teach you. =). Although my material is exactly what the DMV is looking for, but follow your school's teaching material will be more accurate.
Is there a place where we can print out the paper you are referencing?
You can email me and I will give you the instruction. genefeng2005@gmail.com
