Hi! I'm currently 1 week into my cdl class. I like that you sigh and pause occasionally. Shows that you didn't just "memorize" the pre trip. This has to be frustrating. I know I get a nervous with trying to remember all the talking points. And yes, due all the negative comments, this pre trip test has been updated as of October 02 2023. Good job!
FYI you cannot pass your air brake test in Ohio if you leave your tractor spring brakes engaged while conducting the governor test. You must disengage both tractor and trailer. Yes I know the truck rolls in either direction but it will settle.
That’s incorrect. Show me where that is stated in the updated Ohio commercial drivers manual: dam.assets.ohio.gov/image/upload/publicsafety.ohio.gov/hsy7605.pdf It does say that the wheels must be chocked but we asked the testing instructor before hand and he said that he does not require it.
@@solOperator thanks for the quick response that means a lot to me. This manual is still very much out dated as all copies say version 2017 and lack clarity on protocol so we’re left with our own interpretation. The whole purpose of the test is to test for leaks which is why your spring brakes aren’t on for your low air pressure test and your emergency spring brake test. It also is to test when the governor cuts out which is between 120 and 140 psi. With that said I actually failed for this reason. As a cdl student I want correct information as well know how hard it is to get consistent and accurate information. Thank you
No problem. I think you might be mixing up the “air gauge and governor cut off check” with the “air leakage rate test” which is done with the engine off in order to check for air leaks. The air gauge and governor cut off check is used exclusively to check that your air gauge and governor are working properly. Sorry to hear you failed but keep trying. You’ll get it. Best of luck!
The presenter mentioned, " The air compresser is air driven." The air compression and power stearing pump are engine driven. It's just a simple mistake, I think .
perfect study guide
You go girl!
Good job👍
Excellent job 🎉

You did do a good job! It’s almost intimidating. That’s a lot of stuff to remember! But I guess you have weeks to get it down.
Ok ok ok enough said. YOU WIN. ONLY AFTER 30 SECS❤😊
So we get to have a clipboard with the pre trip on it ???

She actually said “gear driven”
You have classes in Ohio?
So she passed
👍
WI this work for California pre trip also?
It doesn’t look like CA has updated their cdl handbook yet so they are still using the old pretrip/skills test so no, your pretrip would be different.
