Thank you for this video. I just bought a portable ac unit and was considering using a generator. I live in my van and need to be stealth. The gas generator is too loud for parking lots. Guess I'm going with solar. Thank you again!
Tanks for the video , my cascadia dont have APU , you have no idea how helpfull is you video for me . Can you send me exactly the model of the generator
It could possibly overload it, I have one from harbor freight, I don’t remember the watts but it kept tripping the inverter, would possibly recommend 3000 watts or more to play it safe
I have a 2200 watt generator an it will not power this first 3 hours ran like a champ felt amazing after that it completely shut off the generator was still on so I rest the generator it the ac came back on but that when I realized it was struggling to stay on an after about 5 mines it would shut off again still having this issue not sure if he is deal with the same considering that his generator is technically weaker than mines
I am having the same issue. My generator is 2300 starting watts and 1800 running watts. The portable AC unit I has 1875 running watts. I have to buy a bigger generator or have an electrician install a soft start kit on my AC unit. Hope this helps.
I’d say Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio, just remember Tx has a lot of freight but the rates aren’t that great, but there’s definitely money to be made .
@@mikestruckinwithbigdaddy5233 yea it’s either North Carolina or Texas I’m gone get my own numbers when I move just wanted to make sure Texas was an ok place first
@@thelifeoftruckerzo7786 depending on what you’re planning on hauling, you could probably run Tx only and gross over $8k easily or be home every night and be around $4500 to $5k gross
I’m not sure I understand exactly what your asking, but if you planning on running something off the generator you want to make sure the generator had enough watts to power it , the bigger the watts on whatever you want to run, the generator needs to have more watts, if you have a 1800 watt ac you probably want a 2500 watt generator or bigger
I have the same a/c but 8000 btu! My craftsman 3300i won't power it, it shuts down when the a/c tries to start I'm wondering what's the problem? My generation is bigger and a/c is smaller in btu's
It takes about 30 mins to cook the whole cab and then ran for 6 hours straight for me with 1 gallon of gas, over ran it over 15 hours straight with no issues , still don’t have any issues out of it

@@mikestruckinwithbigdaddy5233 How do you plan to vent the hot heat from the back of the unit?
@@bobnewhart4318 the part that goes in the window, I’m going to cut it down to fit the passenger window in the truck
great video
I have a 2000 watt inverter, that should work with the ac unit too right?

@@mikestruckinwithbigdaddy5233 ok cause the ac unit I’m looking at says it’s 1100 watts. It’s a serenelife 10k btu
Can you give an update? Still working?

Lol I got a weird question to ask bro what do you think the best city to live in Texas for a owner operator I’m looking to move in September

Hey, what model that ac unit or do you have link to buy exact this one plz
💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
How many btu do you think I need for just a dump truck buddy
Less than 5,000 BTU
How much is cost you ,And where did you install the AC.
$700 total, and I took out the passenger seat
is it compatible with ac 1.5 hp can he handle it?or its only ac inverter?

How long can u keep it on be for turning it off
The generator ran for 6 hours straight with the ac, refrigerator, and tv hooked to it the whole time.
@mikestruckinwithbigdaddy5233 thanks bro how much is is
Im thinking bout doin the same thing for my semi. How is this setup working for you now a year later? How long does it last b4 u got to refuel it?

Your going to need a (soft startup) generator kit I have the LG 14k btu and a 3200watt genius my van
I need to look at a soft start too, my Toshiba 14k BTU tripped a 4400 and 7000 watt Honda. Ended up using a 8k BTU window unit.
How long were you able to run it for?
6hrs is the longest it ran with the portable ac, refrigerator, & tv
That’s perfect i Just need it to run a portable ac which model ac were you using?
How do you sleep with that
It’s not that loud, it’s quieter than an APU or Reefer Unit
You think 2000 watt a push a 14000 btu unit?
What btu is ac ?
Do those air conditioners actually work, all I hear is negativity

They work good I have one they just some times trip at night
i did this before you do it the problem is the generater they wont last long
Haven’t had issues with mine other than the pull cord which I fixed myself
How long did it last on a full tank
6 hours
