    I think you might be confused as to what the economy mode on the generator is for. It is simply used to power down the operation of the generator when you're using less watts, as a means to save gas. It will power up to whatever load you need to pull from it. Then power back down when you are using less.

    There's about 10 watts difference between cool LOW and cool HIGH. Just fan speed change by around 15%. Compressor always runs either full on or off. An inverter AC unit is another animal.

    Very surprised. Not sure what the surge rating is of the generator nor the surge pull of the A/C unit. Usually the run wattage of a 5000BTU A/C is like 450 to 550 watts with a surge on startup of up to 3 times that, so very surprised that the generator was able to handle the surge.

    Yeah I bought one, thinking about getting a second one and run them parallel.

      I know Westinghouse had a nice parallel kit.

      @@Christ-is-King- true true. But doing a diy could be hazardous ⚠️… I’m pretty sure the Westinghouse has some kind of safety device to prevent getting electrocuted ⚡️

      @@electriccuts I’m not sure. It appears to have something built in it looks kinda like a fuse link? It’s probably worth the money no doubt. Anything is possible but you would have to be pretty careless to shock yourself.

    Is this a 1,000 watt Generator???

    How long did the air conditioner run on the generator?

    • @electriccuts
      @electriccuts  Год назад +3

      If I remember correctly… I think it lasted about 5-6 hrs running nonstop the fuel ⛽️ tank is between .5 and .6 gallon

      Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to get the A/C started because it does take a lot of starting watts. It’s good to use a good quality extension cord.

      Wow! No need to burn up on car camping adventures with that set up. Gonna build a wood frame to mount ac on vehicle window , plug in my cheap generator n stay cool in my vehicle while on my car camping adventure 8:04 ! That whole set up don’t take much pack up space. Very informative. Much thanks.

    It does not run my 5500 portable air conditioner. It shuts off in about 10 seconds

      Portable AC's are significantly less efficient for the same BTU output, so even a 5000 BTU portable AC will overload a small generator like this as it draws almost twice as much wattage compared to a window AC (at least my 5500 BTU portable does)

      I just bought a 1500 watt inverter generator and a 5000 btu AC , it overloads and I have to restart it every hour
