In Columbia Pictures' heart-racing sci-fi adventure Zathura, two squabbling brothers are propelled into deepest, darkest space while playing a mysterious game they discovered in the basement of their old house. On their fantastic journey, they are joined by a stranded astronaut and must survive meteor showers, hostile lizard-like aliens, a rocket-propelled robot run amok and an intergalactic spaceship battle. Unless they finish the game and reach the planet Zathura, they could be trapped in outer space forever.
I’m more surprised that Lisa didn’t realize she was falling in love with her own brother until later into the movie

Lisa realising what she was subconsciously going to do is hilarious and rather dark! I always cracked up at that ever since I was a kid.
I love how most of this is practical, and the only CGI is space and green screen overlapping.
Exactly, every scene that was inside the house was practical, and the scenes with the outside views of the house in space were made with a smaller scaled model of the house, with a CGI space effect on greenscreen. Pretty amazing indeed!

Still my favorite childhood movie. 😮💨😮💨😮💨😤. I get chills everytime I watch this movie.
Since the astronaut is really future Walter, you’d think he’d have a more surprising reaction seeing Lisa unfrozen here. If you think about it, in the original timeline, that version of Lisa never unfroze. That means after Walter wished Danny away, Walter spent a long time trying to unfreeze her like that method he tried earlier. He probably spent a long time talking to his frozen sister like how Tom Hanks did with Wilson in Cast Away just to keep him sane. But I doubt he did that for 15 years because he would have gone to a space academy based on his outfit, dog tags, and knowledge of everything to train to be an astronaut. Overall this means he hasn’t seen his sister alive for 15 years. I think this would have happened instead…
Lisa: Who the hell are you?
Astronaut: Lisa. Oh my god (he walks over to her to hug her) You’re alive- (Lisa then blasts the fire extinguisher at him)
Lisa: Keep away from me! And my brothers! Walter, call the police!
Walter: We’re in space. We can’t.
Lisa: What?
Astronaut: Follow me.
(They then see the Zorgons)

But Older Walter already knew that if Danny is alive then so was Lisa. And He did suffer more through the pain of losing Danny than Lisa. He didn't react when he saw Danny and so as Lisa
@ryanstauffer119 IKR! that's what I was thinking when I first saw this in the theaters, I wondered what happened to Lisa when Walter wished Danny out of existence. then it hit me, she never got unfrozen due to Walter's wish.
@@PscycologyFactss Yeah, it's the one real problem with this movie. The astronaut not looking surprised to see Danny and Lisa alive after 15 years. Then again, he could just be doing a good job keeping it together since he doesn't want to reveal that he's Walter from the future.

The man is actually a disciplined Walter that was hoping alternate his younger self and his brother to be disciplined for real

how can she go from a good actress here 2 a horrible one in twilight?
I use to make fun of her acting in twilight and thought she was just a terrible actor but years later after seeing her in other things I realized that it wasn’t really her fault, she had to play a bland character that was written with no emotion and very little personality, other than being awkward and clumsy.
