I don't agree with Butcher on Ryan being a freak just because he's a Supe, but he's right about Vought not be able to let Ryan go because they invested a lot of money into him and they won't let go easily and neither would Homelander. Even if he did take Ryan with him, he probably would find a subtle way to get rid of him like Becca said and she would never let that happen.
Yeah, hell, Becca's comment on "One bad day away from smashing someone's head in" DEFINITELY held up. Butcher has not just set aside his morals, he's absolutely lost his ability to truly grieve. To tell when he's gone too far. This whole story started because Butcher REFUSED to believe Becca was dead. Becca was right to send him away. Not just for the sake of her child/herself but also for Butcher's sake! Absolutely solid writing.
I absolutely love this one moment when Homelander is talking about the racial/ethnic makeup of the Seven that is so much better in hindsight - when he's talking about Black Noir and then stops for a second... he *realizes* that no one else knows what he knows about Black Noir. Because he can see through the mask, so he knows what race Black Noir is, but no one else is supposed to, so he quickly corrects with the lame "he doesn't identify with any race" line that sounds just SO ignorant and in actuality is so weak because he's trying to cover a mistake very quickly.
Such a great episode! The high level of writing and character development is top notch. Seeing our favorites in their smaller groups was really awesome. Lola, I think you definitely summarized perfectly what was happening with Homelander and his Doppelganger. I enjoy your wonderful reactions by you two beauties!! 😍😍😍🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤
Like in the show irl if you control someone's emotions you control them. This is why so many on social media are going insane then add reward/status to keep them insane.
I find it strange that you guys hate on butcher when your favorite characters usually tend to be the more morally complex ones... like Butcher.. so I’m just curious on what makes him different? And before I get any hate, I’m just asking a question.
I didn't see their reactions to other shows, but they don't hate Butcher here, they just disagree with him. In season1 they said multiple times that they love him
I think it's the fact that Butcher has too many loose screws. They don't hate him but they definitely feel he's (as Becca said) one bad day away from pounding someone's face in. He punched Hughie out of anger, refused to give Hughie proper acknowledgement of the Compound V at the time AND is deadset on HIS goals and not the people who helped him obtain those goals (like at the end of Season 1 where he abandoned the Boys solely for vengeance). I love Butcher and I'm pretty sure they do too, but (as the writers' intended) Butcher is still ABSOLUTELY an asshole. There's nothing wrong with heavily disagreeing with a character or hating their decisions! (Hope that wasn't too aggressive or whatever, just wanted to give a likely explanation. I don't speak for them so we'll never know if this is actually the case but yeah, that's all.)
@@dwnkaomwn3953 I don't think you know what the word sociopath means. Butcher is not even close to sociopathic. His whole life was destroyed by supes so his hatred for them is pretty understandable.
@@davebcf1231 I should've said acting like a raging sociopath then. My mistake, but his indiscriminate hatred for all Supes just because of what one Supe(Homelander) did to his wife isn't excusable. I could understand Butcher's hatred better if he just hated Homelander alone.
@Mickey Mouse The only Supes who are/were trash would be Homelander, A-Train, Transulent, Deep, and Stormfront. I get his anger, but it's doesn't help being angry against Supes who had nothing to do with his wife's rape and disappearance.
@@dwnkaomwn3953 " but his indiscriminate hatred for all Supes just because of what one Supe(Homelander) did to his wife isn't excusable." Have you not watched any of the show? It's not all about what one supe did to his wife. It's about all of the evil shit he found out they are all doing.
I still ask myself why Becca couldn’t abort the baby. Just cuz he’s homelanders son I guess?? But in the comics butcher was able to kill the kid with his bare hands so I’m still curious why she’d go through with having the kid
some rape victims find that it's a healing process to go through with the pregnancy and that getting an abortion feels like adding a second violent event on top of the first one.
@@unknownentity9468 That's just your opinion. I was repeating what actual rape-victims said. yeah, of course, not all rape-victims will have the same viewpoint.
@@ookami5329 Do you have a source for that? Cause it sounds like youre just parroting pro-life talking points. Unless a women is guilted by pro-life propaganda, very few of of us wants to keep a rape baby.
It annoys me when people are shortsighted with certain plots. Such as Butcher here calling Becca's ''rape'' child a supe freak. I mean how would you guys and girls feel if your partner got raped and you thought she/he was dead for nearly a decade and you find out she has a child with a rapist ? Would you guys immediately be open arms with that child ? Let's be honest here. None of you would. The normal reaction is to be apprehensive of the kid. And with time things could/would change. Nothing is black and white you have characters like Homelander and Stormfront who are pure evil and you have characters like Hughie, Annie and MM who are pure good and honestly I hate those type of characters. Butcher is a gray character, he is complex. He isn't just good nor bad. To me those characters are more interesting. We see an inherently good character people immediately fall in love we see an inherently evil character we immediately despise them but it's the flawed characters that are more fascinating to me.
I agree on butcher being the most interesting because he’s such a morally grey character and those are always going to be to most interesting to watch. So that’s why I’m confused why they don’t like Butcher? Their favorite characters are usually the morally complex ones so idk what makes Butcher any different? 🤷♂️
What Butcher did was wrong and no don't try that ''you would do the same'' Joker bullshit argument, not everyone has anger issues, but he is an interesting character because of that of course as the main protagonist so it's odd they don't see that's the point with his character and aren't fasicnated by that.
Yall's faces with fake Homelander talking about servicing Homeland was great. I almost laughed out loud.

Well done, one of the first reactors I've seen who picked out that it was doppleganger before the reveal.
Rest of the season is crazy
They already finished it. Finale went up today for tier 3 on patreon :)
The actress who plays Becca is amazing
Yeah, that last scene was definitely a Freudian moment for Homelander.

Best part of the episode
The creators biggest regret about the season was not going though with the homelands on homelander scene before killing doppelganger.
becca ain't no spice girl.
